PANT - Chapter 50
Chapter 50
Under the old man’s guidance, everyone soon arrived at the location of the abandoned observatory.
The observatory was situated atop a snowy mountain. Being close to the Arctic Circle, the weather was cold and perpetually covered in ice and snow. Even the observatory itself had turned a silvery-white, completely blending in with the surrounding snowscape.
Looking at it from a distance, Shi Ning felt it strongly resembled the White Elephant of the Carpathians from her previous world.
It was just like the building before her now.
The Carpathian observatory was an abandoned child of humanity, now embraced by nature.
The old man spoke nostalgically about the observatory’s past.
“Building an observatory here was very expensive. This one was constructed in the last century but was quickly abandoned due to war, and it has remained sealed for a long time. Someone once proposed reopening it, but the suggestion was ultimately rejected because it’s too far from our residential area, inconvenient, and the transportation is extremely poor.”
“I actually love this place. When I was young, I used to climb the mountain with my friends to reach the summit, and we even visited the observatory.”
“Now that I’m old, I rarely have the energy to make a trip like this anymore.”
Su Tianxue stood at the foot of the mountain, gazing at the structure standing in the distance.
Her gaze was profound.
Shi Ning asked, “Want to go up and have a look?”
Su Tianxue nodded. “Can we?”
“Of course,” Shi Ning replied.
The old man reminded them, “You can look, but I don’t think there’s much to see inside anymore. This observatory has been abandoned for a long time, and the equipment inside was destroyed long ago. It’s probably all unusable now.”
Su Tianxue smiled faintly. “That’s alright.”
That wasn’t her purpose for coming here.
It was a subtle feeling.
A wave of elusive emotions stirred in Su Tianxue’s heart.
When she saw this dilapidated observatory, she felt that this silent, white structure, though unable to speak, still seemed to possess the gaze that had attempted to peer into the universe and pierce the heavens a century ago. Looking from afar, she felt it was still wrapped in the hope of discovering truth.
Shi Ning had been watching Su Tianxue’s expression the whole time. She could see that the moment they arrived at the foot of the observatory and looked up at the building, Su Tianxue’s eyes were already filled with light.
It was a light in Su Tianxue’s eyes that she had almost never seen at any other time.
Shi Ning thought that astronomy must truly be the career Su Tianxue wanted to dedicate her life to. So, where was her own light?
It wasn't that she couldn't spend her future days in a muddle like now, eating, drinking, playing, and spending money, retiring at thirty. But a faint voice in Shi Ning’s heart whispered that she was unwilling, that she didn't want this.
She didn’t want to stand by Su Tianxue’s side, yet be unable to find her own direction.
Su Tianxue was shining in her own world, so what about her? Where was her light?
Shi Ning reined in her thoughts and followed the main group up the mountain.
The old man followed as well. Though elderly, his legs were still nimble. He often rode horses or dog sleds, so he seemed quite healthy.
Su Wanxing, however, felt she couldn’t take it anymore.
She was panting by the time she reached the halfway point.
Bending over with her hands on her knees, Su Wanxing gasped for air, greedily taking in large breaths as she asked, “Can you guys go on ahead? I’ll wait for you here.”
The old man said, “Young lady, if you stay here alone, you must be careful of the wolf packs on the mountain.”
The mountains in this area were mostly untrodden by humans. With less human activity, the presence of primitive wildlife was more common.
Wild wolves or bears were not an impossibility.
Hearing this, Su Wanxing’s heart sank.
She straightened up and said seriously, “Then I’d better go with you.”
Zhu Yu, standing to the side, extended a hand to Su Wanxing. “If you’re tired, you can hold my hand.”
Su Wanxing froze for a moment, then lowered her head and mumbled, “Okay.”
She appeared somewhat shy and flustered, but in reality, Su Wanxing was thinking… Ah, as expected of Mom’s good girl.
Had the little cub who once needed protection really grown up to the point where she could protect others?
【I’m so jealous, so jealous!!】
【I’m telling myself, it’s okay, the show is ending soon anyway. Then Su Wanxing won’t have any contact with Zhu Yu. No rush, no rush!】
【I’m shipping them again~~~~ My limited-run romance show CP, sob sob sob!】
Xin Ya and Zhou Lu were walking at the very back.
Zhou Lu wasn’t very athletic, and this mountain path was taking a lot out of her.
Xin Ya had turned back to look at Zhou Lu more than once.
She thought, if Zhou Lu just called out to her, she would generously, without holding any grudges, be a good boss and lend her a hand.
But who knew that Zhou Lu was probably a stubborn mule, with a temper that ten bulls couldn’t pull back.
She would rather walk until she was panting and completely out of energy, yet she remained silent, not asking anyone for help.
Xin Ya was getting annoyed.
For the past few days, her heart felt like it had been scorched by fire—always hot, smoking, and filled with intense frustration. This symptom worsened whenever she saw Zhou Lu.
When Zhou Lu spoke to her, she was unhappy.
When Zhou Lu didn’t speak to her, she was even more unhappy.
Xin Ya was about to be driven mad by this.
Now, she gritted her teeth, averted her gaze, and resolved not to care about Zhou Lu anymore.
What top-ten best boss!
Whoever wants the title can have it!
She couldn’t care less!
But she had only taken a few steps forward when she heard a concerned voice from a staff member behind her. “Zhou Lu, are you okay?”
Xin Ya stopped in her tracks and turned to look at Zhou Lu.
Zhou Lu’s face was pale. She shook her head. “I’m fine.”
Anyone with eyes could see she was lying.
Her face was completely devoid of color, so white she looked like she was about to be laid in a coffin. How could that be called “fine”?
The fire in Xin Ya’s heart burned fiercely. Annoyed, she kicked a clump of snow on the ground. The snow scattered like a goddess strewing flowers and rolled to the side.
Xin Ya stiffly walked back a few steps and then crouched down in front of Zhou Lu.
Zhou Lu was confused. “Xin Ya?”
Xin Ya said awkwardly, “Hurry up, I’ll carry you.”
Zhou Lu was still trying to refuse. “There’s no need, this isn’t right.”
Xin Ya said fiercely, “Damn it, are you getting on or not?”
【LMAO, Xin Ya, how do you even have a wife??】
【If it were me, I’d kick Xin Ya’s butt and tell her to roll down the mountain! Why are you being so fierce! Can’t you speak like a human being when you’re clearly concerned about someone!】
【I can tell this couple’s tiff is pretty serious right now, hahaha.】
Zhou Lu hesitated. “This isn’t a good idea.”
Xin Ya couldn’t be bothered with any more nonsense. She changed her posture, directly hoisted Zhou Lu over her shoulder, and then said domineeringly to the production team, “Do you have an oxygen tank? Get me one.”
A while later, Zhou Lu was lying in Xin Ya’s arms, holding an oxygen mask in one hand.
It had been too long since Xin Ya had held Zhou Lu.
Feeling the warmth of the little shorty in her arms after so long, Xin Ya gave a rare smile. Her brain started to short-circuit again, and when she spoke, it was with the cadence of Lin Daiyu. This demeanor was completely at odds with her current “Vajra Barbie” appearance, making her look particularly ridiculous.
Xin Ya said, “You need not be so hot and cold with me, Lu Lu. If you wish to be angry with me, you should just say so.”
Zhou Lu was so startled she almost dropped the oxygen tank in her hand.
Xin Ya continued, “Why so surprised? My sincerity cannot move you in the slightest, yet a mere sentence from me makes you feel astonished?”
After taking a deep breath of oxygen, Zhou Lu reached out and covered Xin Ya’s mouth.
Alright, stop talking.
Any more of this and her head would start to hurt.
It took everyone nearly an hour to reach the summit.
When the abandoned white observatory appeared before their eyes, almost everyone was stunned by the sight of this fusion of nature and human architecture.
Su Wanxing collapsed onto the ground, and Zhu Yu squatted down beside her.
“It’s so beautiful,” Su Wanxing sighed.
Words could hardly describe what she felt in that moment.
The observatory’s outer walls were weathered by time, marked by nearly a century of heavy snows. Its dome was completely covered in snow, and the entire structure was enveloped in a faint mist.
Just then, the sun pierced through the clouds. The Tyndall effect became visible, and light formed a divine pillar, landing on the observatory’s glass dome. It refracted and scattered, turning into beautiful fragments that fell all over the ground.
The old man walked to the entrance of the observatory.
He hadn’t been here in a long time either. Standing here now, he felt as if he were facing his younger self from long ago.
He pushed the door open.
Clang.
The iron door let out a loud noise, followed by a cloud of dust.
Everyone turned their heads to avoid it. After the annoying dust settled, they looked inside the observatory.
The lights had long been broken, but thankfully it was daytime, so the interior was still bright enough for them to see clearly.
Shi Ning had expected to see countless intersecting spiderwebs and a thick layer of dust, but to her surprise, the inside of the observatory was quite clean.
The old man smiled and remarked, “Someone probably comes up here often to clean.”
Su Tianxue hummed in agreement. “Because there are still people who can’t bear to part with this place.”
She was the first to step forward, observing the interior of the observatory.
The instruments that hadn’t been moved were old and broken, standing askew to the side like some kind of little monsters.
The research charts hanging on the walls were yellowed and illegible, their corners eroded by time, just like a person’s youth and prime.
But soon, Su Tianxue stopped in her tracks.
She had discovered something amazing.
On one of the walls, a star chart was engraved.
The old man walked over and explained, “This should be the star chart from the day the observatory was completed, carved into the wall as a memento.”
Su Tianxue pointed to a sketchbook nearby. “And these?”
The old man looked and was also a little surprised.
“Someone has been drawing the star chart for this day every year.”
The most recent one was from this year.
There was no name, no mark left behind, only page after page of hand-drawn star charts, as if upholding some kind of conviction.
Su Tianxue asked politely, “May I take a look?”
The old man replied, “Of course, please do.”
Su Tianxue bent down, picked up the sketchbook, and flipped through it page by page.
She noticed a subtle detail.
In the earlier years of the sketchbook, the skilled brushstrokes gradually began to tremble. Further on, after a period of pause, a new, unfamiliar brushstroke appeared.
This person had kept drawing, from unskilled to proficient.
Shi Ning also leaned in beside Su Tianxue, looking on with curiosity. She remarked, “This wasn’t drawn by one person.”
Hearing this, the old man took the sketchbook in surprise and flipped through it. Tears fell onto the pages, and his voice trembled.
“I think I know the person who drew this.”
The old man told a simple story.
He had an old friend, and they both loved astronomy. But luck and fate were different for them; he left this place to become a professor in a bigger city and lost contact with his friend. Many years later, when he returned, the next time he saw his friend was at his funeral. He could only meet the eyes of the photograph placed before the coffin. At that funeral, he had seen his old friend’s grandson.
He heard the boy was very rebellious, but he didn’t know much more.
Now, looking at this sketchbook, the old man could finally tell that some of the details and brushstrokes in the star charts were habits that only his old friend had. They had once drawn star charts together, so he remembered it with perfect clarity.
His friend’s face had slowly faded in his memory, but the things they had done together with such focus, those strange little details, were still etched in his mind.
He didn’t know whose these new, younger brushstrokes were. They could belong to that rebellious grandson, or perhaps someone else.
In any case, what this sketchbook recorded was the faith and legacy of astronomy enthusiasts.
【Why am I getting so emotional for no reason!!!】
【In an abandoned observatory that no one cares about, someone has been holding onto their faith TVT.】
【I feel like I can almost see tears glistening in Sister Su’s eyes!】
Su Tianxue was eager to try. “May I draw one? For today.”
The old man smiled. “Of course, you can.”
There was a pen left behind by a previous visitor.
Su Tianxue found a random spot and was about to sit down when Shi Ning took off her inner vest and placed it on the seat for her.
【Not to be that person, but isn’t that vest pretty expensive?】
【Tens of thousands of yuan just became a butt cushion?】
【Vest: In the end, my love was misplaced.】
Shi Ning smiled. “You guys go ahead and draw. I’ll go find Su Wanxing and the others.”
Su Tianxue flicked the pen in her hand. Fortunately, it hadn’t frozen solid and was still usable.
She tested it with a stroke on a white piece of paper.
Black ink appeared.
“Go on,” Su Tianxue said.
Shi Ning bid the old man farewell and went to find Su Wanxing and the others.
After a quick tour of the observatory’s interior, Su Wanxing and the others lost interest and went outside to enjoy the view.
Shi Ning wrapped her coat tighter and ran out. After searching for a bit, she found them gathered around a snow pine tree.
Shi Ning walked over. “What are you guys doing?”
“You’re here,” Su Wanxing said.
Shi Ning chuckled. “What’s with the ‘you’? So formal. Call me Sister-in-law.”
Su Wanxing: ...
She had the urge to kill!
【I feel like Shi Ning is never going to let go of this title!】
【Su Wanxing: It’s all my mouth’s fault! Why did I have to call her Sister-in-law that day!】
【Just here for the drama, purely for the drama!】
Shi Ning asked curiously, “Why are you all gathered here?”
Zhu Yu pointed to the cards hanging on the tree. “We’re looking at what they wrote.”
“Oh,” Shi Ning said, moving closer to take a serious look.
Many of the cards weren’t in English but in the native language of this small country.
Su Wanxing asked, “Can you even read it?”
“Nope,” Shi Ning replied.
“Then what are you looking at?”
“I’m looking at the vibe.”
Su Wanxing: “...”
【Hahahahahahaha!!】
【Special effects team, please give Su Wanxing a knife. I don’t think she can take it anymore.】
【Help, help, help.】
The production team handed everyone cards with strings and pens, suggesting they could also leave their own messages here.
At the peak of this snowy mountain, standing in the wind, looking at the vast expanse of clouds and white snow, one’s mind was cleansed. If one felt a bit of wistful emotion, it was indeed a moment when one would want to write something down, to leave something behind.
The director said, “Everyone can be like the locals and hang what you want to say on this tree. We’ve already asked; this tree is like the local ‘soul tree,’ and many people like to confide in it. Today is the last day of our show, and this is our final stop. We hope everyone can record whatever you want to say, as a memento.”
Su Wanxing held the card in her hand and muttered, “What should I write?”
She glanced over at Zhu Yu, trying to sneak a peek, but the usually generous Zhu Yu suddenly seemed to have become stingy. The moment Su Wanxing moved, Zhu Yu blocked her view.
Su Wanxing huffed. “Fine, I won’t look.”
Her daughter was all grown up, with her own little secrets now!
Su Wanxing then tiptoed behind Shi Ning.
Shi Ning was squatting on the ground, pen in hand. Without the slightest hesitation, she had already written what she wanted to say on the paper.
Su Wanxing took a look and was speechless.
“Why aren’t you writing in Chinese? How are other people supposed to understand?”
“To guard against you,” Shi Ning said.
“Hmph!!!”
She simply squatted down to the side by herself, no longer trying to court a rebuff, and pondered what she wanted to write.
Shi Ning was the first to finish.
She hung the card on the tree. When the wind blew, her card swayed along with it.
Su Tianxue had just finished drawing the star chart and came out with the old man.
Shi Ning waved to Su Tianxue. “Wife!”
Her smile was more brilliant than the starry sky in Su Tianxue’s drawing. “Do you want to come write a little card?”
Su Tianxue shook her head. “I want to go look around over there with the old gentleman.”
Shi Ning wasn’t discouraged. She waved her hand. “Go on, go on. Be careful.”
The old gentleman said to Su Tianxue, “Writing a card is actually quite interesting.”
Su Tianxue replied, “What is there to write? And who is it for?”
“Perhaps a god will hear your prayer,” the old gentleman said.
“I have nothing I need to pray to a god for.”
The only time she had knelt before a Buddha, kowtowing ninety-nine times and sitting alone in a temple, was to pray for her grandmother’s illness to get better.
But it seemed the gods couldn’t hear her voice.
Perhaps the gods were too busy.
The old gentleman said, “Or, you could write to the one you love. It’s said that if you write a confession of love to someone here, you can be together for a lifetime. That’s why so many young people like to come here.”
Su Tianxue replied, “Thank you, but sir, I don’t believe in these things.”
A lifetime together, how could that rely on the power of a wish?
If one were to truly achieve it, it should rely on the mutual efforts of two people in love, right?
Su Tianxue glanced back. Shi Ning was hugging Zhu Yu’s shoulders, laughing freely.
She wondered, what would Shi Ning write?
Su Tianxue lowered her gaze and followed the old man to the other side to see the abandoned observation deck.
An hour later, it was time for everyone to leave.
The director team called Su Tianxue back, saying they needed to take a commemorative photo.
The six of them stood together and took several group photos.
Su Wanxing called out, “Director! How did they turn out! Let us see!”
The director said, “We’ll send the photos to you later.”
“Can’t we see them now!”
“Why are you in such a hurry? It’s getting late, let’s head down the mountain first. We still have to get to the airport.”
The group started their descent. After walking for a while, Su Tianxue suddenly said, “I forgot something. Wait for me for a moment.”
“I’ll go with you?” Shi Ning offered.
“No need.”
Her tone was firm. She turned and walked away, so quickly that even the production team couldn’t keep up.
Xin Ya was supporting Zhou Lu. “Let’s just take a break. There’s no rush.”
For Zhou Lu, climbing the mountain was like undergoing a tribulation.
She still hadn’t recovered.
She was already on her second bottle of oxygen.
However, going down was a bit better than going up, so she didn’t need to be carried, just supported.
Seeing this, Su Wanxing smiled and teased, “You two finally made up.”
Xin Ya paused. “What?”
“Weren’t you two arguing for the past few days?”
Xin Ya was a little awkward. “Not really.”
Su Wanxing reached out and patted Xin Ya’s shoulder. “It’s good that you’ve come to terms with it.”
Xin Ya was confused. “What’s wrong?”
Su Wanxing leaned in and whispered in Xin Ya’s ear, “I already know about Zhou Lu’s… problem. Don’t worry, I’ll keep it a secret for you.”
...
Xin Ya’s face instantly turned red, and she stumbled over her words.
“Who- who told you that?”
Su Wanxing pointed at Shi Ning with righteous indignation. “Her.”
“Shi Ning??”
Shi Ning, who was suddenly being glared at by Xin Ya for no reason, was baffled. “What’s up?”
“Who told you Zhou Lu has a problem? Did Zhou Lu tell you?”
Zhou Lu, still inhaling from the oxygen tank, said, “Do I look like I’m doing okay right now?”
Xin Ya was stunned, her eyes nearly popping out of their sockets.
“You can’t do it?”
Zhou Lu was about to nod but then felt something was strange.
“...What exactly are you guys talking about that I can’t do?”
【Today, we still don’t know if Zhou Lu can do it or not.】
【It doesn’t matter if Zhou Lu can do it, Xin Ya can be the top anyway.】
【AOAOAOA!!!】
The group was bickering noisily.
On the other side, Su Tianxue had already returned to her starting point.
She didn’t know why she had lied, but she just wanted to come back up and see.
To see what Shi Ning had written.
She stood before the tree, searching for Shi Ning’s handwriting.
She looked for a new, recently hung card and quickly found it.
As the wind blew, the words on it were perfectly clear.
Quand on tombe amoureux de la lune, on arrête de regarder les étoiles.
Et ma lune, c'est toi.
When one falls in love with the moon, one stops looking at the stars.
And my moon, is you.
The wind blew, and Su Tianxue’s long black hair fluttered slightly.
She stood there for a long while, calming her racing heart. Then she turned, pushed open the observatory door, and took out the pen she had just used to draw the star chart. Su Tianxue returned to the tree, stood on her tiptoes, stretched out her hand, and drew a small crescent moon below the words Shi Ning had written.
...
When Su Tianxue returned, everyone continued their journey down.
They went back to the old man’s house, packed their luggage, and then bid farewell to their hosts.
The hosts were reluctant to see them go, pulling them in for several more group photos before warmly saying goodbye.
As the car headed to the airport, Su Wanxing leaned against the window, breathed on the glass, and drew a heart with her fingertip.
“I’m so reluctant to leave,” she said.
“Some encounters are destined to end with a farewell,” Zhu Yu said.
Hearing this, Su Wanxing looked at Zhu Yu.
Zhu Yu smiled and said, “But that’s not us.”
Shi Ning made a sound of disgust. “That’s enough. Aren’t you annoying? Are goosebumps free for wholesale? When did you two get to this stage?”
Su Wanxing quickly said, “You’re overthinking it! Zhu Yu and I are just friends! Can’t the meeting of friends also be considered an encounter?”
Su Wanxing didn’t want Zhu Yu to get flamed for what she said after the show ended.
Zhu Yu smiled and agreed, “Yes, we’re friends.”
“Hmph, dirty minds think dirty thoughts,” Su Wanxing said.
Shi Ning turned to Su Tianxue and whined, “Wife, they’re being mean to me.”
Su Tianxue reached out and patted Shi Ning’s head. “You have to accept that all kinds of feelings exist in this world.”
Shi Ning said, “...You’re taking their side.”
“I’m just stating the facts.”
【How did CEO Shi become the group’s punching bag by the end!!】
【Actually, when Sister Su is like this, it can be quite hurtful sometimes, sob sob.】
【Shouldn’t she be domineeringly protecting her wife at a time like this!!】
Shi Ning fake-cried for a bit, then hugged Su Tianxue’s arm. “Well, our feelings are love, hmph.”
After saying this, she looked at Su Wanxing and Zhu Yu triumphantly, like a child. “It’s different from some people’s friendship.”
Su Wanxing: “...!!”
How is this person so infuriating!!!!
And to think she’d have to see this person at home after the show!!
...Hey, wait a minute.
Shi Ning seemed to have moved back to her own house.
So after the show is over, will she not be coming back to her and her sister’s home?
But...
Shi Ning and her sister were really married.
Living separately so soon after getting married, isn’t that inappropriate?
Su Wanxing glanced at her sister’s expression, thinking that her sister probably hadn’t realized this yet.
She had to find some time to talk to her sister about this.
Su Wanxing was preoccupied with her thoughts.
And she wasn’t the only one in the car with something on her mind.
Xin Ya was still mulling over the conversation she and Zhou Lu had that night.
So...
After the show ends, will she and Lu Lu go back to their old way of interacting?
Contacting each other when there’s work, and not talking when there isn’t.
It had been like that for a long time.
She and Zhou Lu were a rare partnership, but it was hard to describe them as friends, let alone lovers.
What Su Tianxue had said earlier also flashed through her mind.
Xin Ya rarely thought about things so seriously, but now she couldn’t help but ponder.
What kind of relationship did she and Zhou Lu have?
What did she want?
...
After thinking seriously for a while, Xin Ya gave up.
It was a headache, she couldn’t figure it out, so forget it.
Xin Ya glanced at Zhou Lu and found that she looked quite happy right now, gazing out the window and seemingly humming a song.
Xin Ya didn’t even need to ask to know that Zhou Lu was so happy because she was about to get off work.
Who wouldn’t be happy about getting off work?
Heh!
...
When the plane landed back in the country, Love Bus 2 officially came to an end.
Online, many people were genuinely expressing their reluctance to see the show go.
@IsBlueberryBreadTasty: I’m so sad, sob sob!! Can’t you just keep livestreaming forever!! Watching the livestream during meals has become my habit now, I’m really not used to it being gone.
@ISleptInAbit: Nooo! I haven’t had enough yet!!
@WakingUpEarlyRuinsTheDay: I hope to hear news tomorrow that the original cast will be back for season three.
With the end of this romance variety show, Shi Ning’s rarely used personal Weibo account had gained over a million followers, making her almost more popular than some minor celebrities.
Su Tianxue didn’t have a Weibo account.
On Su Wanxing’s personal account, many people were urging her to continue releasing songs and not to waste her Night Star alias. Some were even asking if she would consider entering the entertainment industry to save the current state of pop music.
And as for Hali-Lu-Ya, that was a whole other story.
Although Xin Ya’s various social media accounts had stopped updating while she was on the show, her popularity hadn’t waned. Her follower count had soared, and many new fans enjoyed digging through her old content, which boosted the stats of her past short videos. Her reputation in the industry had risen, and the caliber of advertisements and live-streaming e-commerce deals she was offered had also gone up.
People were also analyzing why Love Bus 2, which had started with low expectations and a lukewarm reception, had become this year’s undisputed top variety show, not only dominating the hot searches but also consistently ranking first in daily viewership and engagement.
Shi Ning had been right about one thing.
The money invested in filming this show had already been earned back many times over.
The advertisers and sponsors who had breached their contracts early on after hearing the first wave of guests had quit were now regretting it deeply. They even came back to ask that if there was a third season, they must be contacted in advance.
After the plane came to a stop, the production team returned the confiscated phones to the guests.
The director team also bid a reluctant farewell to everyone.
As soon as she got her phone, Zhu Yu suggested, “Let’s add each other as friends, shall we? And start a group chat.”
After a flurry of ding-dong sounds from friend requests being accepted, a new group was born.
【Love Us】
Su Wanxing: v
Su Wanxing: Let’s all chat more in the future.
Xin Ya looked at the group name, cleared her throat, and said, “Actually, there’s something I want to confess to everyone.”
The cameras were gone now, so there were no commercial considerations.
After spending so many days together and going through so much, Xin Ya didn’t want to hide it from her new friends anymore.
“What is it?” Su Wanxing asked.
Xin Ya glanced at Zhou Lu, closed her eyes, stuck out her neck, and said loudly, “Actually, Lu Lu and I were faking being a couple! You absolutely must not tell the show’s boss about this!”
Even though the recording was over, Xin Ya still had some lingering fear.
Zhou Lu, who was scrolling through Weibo, froze. She looked up at Shi Ning. “Boss?”
Shi Ning smiled. “Hello.”
“Huh?” Xin Ya said.
Zhou Lu said, “...It seems the show’s boss is right in front of you.”
Xin Ya looked as if she had been struck by lightning.
Su Wanxing was also stunned for a long time.
Zhu Yu cursed, “Shi Ning, stop being a jerk.”
Su Wanxing didn’t understand what Shi Ning had done. Zhu Yu showed her the phone, and only then did she realize that Shi Ning had, without a word, changed the name of the group chat they had just created.
【The Loving Wives and Their Four Single Friends】
...
Her fists were clenched again!!!
Shi Ning had originally planned to go home with Su Tianxue after the show finished recording today, stay the night, and then, well, you know. Ahem.
But as soon as she got off the plane, Ye Wanlan was waiting for her. One look, and Shi Ning knew there must be a development in the W case.
So she said goodbye to everyone and instructed the driver to make sure everyone else got home safely.
Before leaving, she couldn’t resist running up to Su Tianxue and stealing a kiss on her cheek.
“Wife, see you tomorrow,” Shi Ning said with a smile.
After Shi Ning ran off, everyone else also said their goodbyes and got into their respective cars.
Su Wanxing and Su Tianxue were in the same car.
Seeing that she finally had a chance to be alone with her sister, Su Wanxing eagerly asked, “Sis, how did you and Shi Ning meet?”
She had wanted to ask this question for a long time.
Su Tianxue held it in for a long time before saying two words: “It was fate.”
She also warned Su Wanxing, “Don’t you go asking Shi Ning.”
She was afraid that one day Shi Ning would just bluntly tell Su Wanxing the truth.
What would happen to her pride as an older sister then?
“Oh,” Su Wanxing said. “Sis, if you don’t want to say it, just say so.” She then reminded her sister, “Sister, if you like Shi Ning, you have to tell her, you have to confess. And you’re married now, so shouldn’t you be living together?”
As an outsider, she could tell at a glance that her sister had definitely fallen for her.
“Sis, aren’t you planning to have Shi Ning move in? If it’s inconvenient, I can move out once I find a job. And I’ll be starting school again soon, so I can stay in the dorms.”
Su Tianxue hummed in acknowledgment, her mind still on what Su Wanxing had said about confessing.
Did she… like Shi Ning?
Su Tianxue seriously considered this. In the early hours of the morning, she sent Shi Ning a message.
Su Tianxue: My heart rate today is estimated to be over 120, and my levels of catecholamine C8H11NO2 and phenethylamine C8H11N have also increased.
After sending the message, for some reason, Su Tianxue felt a sense of anxiety and helplessness.
She didn’t sleep all night. The next morning, as she was drowsily making coffee, she suddenly received a message from Shi Ning.
The coffee spoon she had just dropped clattered against the cup with a crisp sound.
And its owner, who had just been holding the spoon, was now standing in front of the living room coffee table, unable to contain her excitement.
The phone lay on the table, reminding Su Tianxue that Shi Ning had replied.
Su Tianxue took a deep breath.
She didn’t understand now how Shi Ning could say those things every time without being nervous at all.
And yet here she was, so nervous just waiting for an answer.
She picked up her phone, unlocked it with her face, and then… her expression suddenly froze over.
Shi Ning: Wife, what’s wrong? Do you need to see a doctor?
