PANT - Chapter 46
Chapter 46
“Beep... beep...”
The busy tone echoed in the empty room.
The first thing Mo Lingyuan did after hanging up with the woman was send the phone recording to Ye Wanlan.
Ye Wanlan happened to be awake, handling company matters while waiting for news from Mo Lingyuan.
After listening to the recording, Ye Wanlan called Mo Lingyuan back.
The fountain pen in Ye Wanlan's hand tapped a rhythmic beat on the desk. “This W doesn’t seem so easy to fool.”
She had gotten W's basic information from Xu Lulu.
The amount of useful information Xu Lulu knew was pitifully small; even the phone number was a virtual one.
Aside from knowing the person behind the scenes was a woman with the codename W, Ye Wanlan had gained nothing else.
Xu Lulu was even more thoughtless, not even bothering to record any of her conversations with W.
This directly cut off any possibility for Ye Wanlan to identify the other party by comparing voices.
Although, according to Ye Wanlan's speculation, a person as smart and cautious as W probably used a voice changer even when making calls.
Hearing Ye Wanlan's words, Mo Lingyuan nodded in deep agreement. She fell back onto the bed, idly fiddling with a small doll on the headboard. “To gain her trust now, we might have to give her a little taste of success first.”
Ye Wanlan: “Mm, I know what you mean. I need to communicate with Shi Ning about this first.”
Mo Lingyuan: “I thought that by now, you called all the shots in the Shi family.”
Ye Wanlan sounded very modest. “I'm just doing what I'm supposed to do.”
Ye Wanlan: “Thank you for this.”
Mo Lingyuan: “No need to thank me. I'm just idle now that I'm back anyway. Getting to join in on the fun and earning a favor from Secretary Ye is a good deal for me.”
Ye Wanlan: “Then would you mind if I asked? Why did you return to the country this time?”
Mo Lingyuan's gaze turned cold, but her tone remained light and smiling. “I stayed abroad for too long and wanted to come back, so I did. This is my home. I don't think there's any reason I can't return, is there?”
Ye Wanlan: “Of course.”
Mo Lingyuan: “Anything else, Secretary Ye?”
Ye Wanlan: “No. Get some rest.”
After hanging up, Mo Lingyuan thought to herself that outsiders all said Ye Wanlan was the watchdog guarding the Shi family.
She felt there was some truth to that statement.
After hanging up, Ye Wanlan contacted the production team and asked them to give the phone to Shi Ning.
In the room, just as Shi Ning and Su Tianxue were speculating on the connection between Mo Lingyuan's sudden appearance and the mastermind behind all the previous chaotic events, there was a knock on the door.
Because Shi Ning had cut the live stream long ago, no one knew what they were doing right now.
A staff member said, “Um, boss, Secretary Ye would like to talk to you about something.”
Su Tianxue raised an eyebrow at this. After the staff member left, she spoke. “So, is this what you did before? Using the excuse of a solo interview to actually arrange things with the production team. Hmm? CEO Shi?”
Shi Ning: “Stop making fun of me.”
She took the phone and called Ye Wanlan back.
The call connected quickly. Ye Wanlan had probably been waiting by the phone for Shi Ning's call.
“Wan'er Jiejie,” Shi Ning said. “What's up?”
Ye Wanlan: “Mo Lingyuan has spoken with me. We've received W's contact number. The target has taken the bait.”
Shi Ning: “I'm guessing it's not that simple, right? Otherwise, you wouldn't be making this call.”
Ye Wanlan: “That's right. Xiao Ning. We might need to put out a little more bait.”
Shi Ning smiled. “Of course. We're not exactly Jiang Taigong fishing—where only the willing take the bait. If we want her to truly believe us, we have to give her a little taste of success.”
Ye Wanlan: “That's what Mo Lingyuan said, too. So, do you have any ideas?”
Shi Ning thought for a moment. A fleeting idea crossed her mind, but she couldn't make the decision on her own. She told Ye Wanlan, “Wait a second, let me discuss it with Su Tianxue.”
Hearing her name, Su Tianxue looked up at Shi Ning. Shi Ning explained the situation and then told Su Tianxue, “I have an idea, but I'm not sure if you'd be willing.”
Su Tianxue's expression was calm. “I'm all ears.”
Ten minutes later, the group reached a consensus. They decided to give W a heavy dose of drama tomorrow.
To W, Mo Lingyuan was like a sharp blade delivered right to her. Using this blade to tear Shi Ning and Su Tianxue apart would be the easiest thing in the world.
Ye Wanlan: “The police are close to getting results on the overseas fraud case. As long as we can get some information related to W, I think this matter can be resolved quickly.”
Ye Wanlan was truly fed up with this person hiding in the shadows and playing dirty tricks all day. Instead of always being on the defensive and waiting for the other party to make a move, it was better to turn the tables and go on the offensive.
Shi Ning: “Wan'er Jiejie, I agree with you, but next time you do something like this, can you discuss it with me first? Like this thing with Mo Lingyuan today, it was so sudden. I needed some mental preparation.”
It was a good thing things didn't go wrong, otherwise how would she explain it to Su Tianxue?
Ye Wanlan apologized to Shi Ning. “Sorry, Xiao Ning. But Mo Lingyuan's decision to return was just too unexpected. I wasn't prepared either. I only contacted her and didn't tell you in advance. Besides, I had another consideration. Weren't I worried that if you knew beforehand, your reaction wouldn't be genuine enough and would arouse W's suspicion?”
Shi Ning snorted. “You just don't think much of my acting skills. Let me tell you, if I debuted as an actress, I'd definitely sweep the big three awards and win Best Actress next year, okay?”
In her heart, she knew Ye Wanlan probably did it to watch the drama unfold.
If she had really wanted to notify her in advance, how could she not have had the time?
Could it be that she was holding a grudge because of that offhand comment Shi Ning made about her and Mom the other day?
Probably not, Shi Ning thought.
Shi Ning: “Don't do this again, okay? If you do, I'll tattle to my mom. You should have at least some basic trust in my acting, okay?”
Ye Wanlan was amused by her shameless attitude. She said, “If you're that determined and confident, then how about we don't look for other stars for the company's key project this year? We'll just give it to you and have A-listers play your supporting roles. We'll make you a star with one drama, the first step on your path to sweeping the Best Actress awards. How about it?”
“That's not a bad idea,” Shi Ning said with a smile.
After enough joking around and settling the serious business, she asked about her mother's health and the company's recent situation before hanging up.
Su Tianxue saw the mischievous look on Shi Ning's face after she hung up and grew a little wary. “What are you planning?”
Shi Ning: “Wife, I have a question.”
Su Tianxue: “Hmm?”
Shi Ning: “If I were a Best Actress, would you love me?”
Su Tianxue found the question hilarious. She couldn't understand it. “Shi Ning, what does you being a Best Actress have to do with whether I love you or not?”
Shi Ning said with perfect self-assurance, “Well, all the yuri novels these days have a Best Actress as the main character. I thought everyone was into that.”
Su Tianxue: “I don't read yuri novels.”
Oh, right. She forgot. Su Tianxue's character in the book was a rock-solid straight Alpha.
She wouldn't read yuri novels.
No, that's not right either. Do straight girls not read yuri novels?
Shi Ning was curious. “Then what do you read? The Domineering CEO Falls in Love with Me? The School Hunk Next Door Forcibly Kisses Me?”
Su Tianxue: “I don't read those kinds of books.”
Shi Ning: “Then your life is missing some cheesy fun.”
Su Tianxue smiled helplessly. “I read The Pale Blue Dot, Parallel Worlds, and Astrophysics for People in a Hurry. Have you read them?”
Shi Ning shook her head.
She asked, “Do you believe in parallel universes?”
Su Tianxue: “Modern physics has such a theory, which suggests that there may be a vast cosmic web in this world. This means that in the universe above our heads, there are many other universes lined up, perhaps even an infinite number, and our current universe is just one of them.”
Shi Ning: “...Teacher Su! It's not class time right now!”
Su Tianxue chuckled lightly. “Did you really dislike studying when you were in school?”
Shi Ning: “I was a humanities student.”
Su Tianxue: “What a coincidence, I was a science student.”
Shi Ning: “...”
There were only two categories. How was that a coincidence?
Shi Ning mentioned casually, “Have you ever thought about what your parallel universe self would be doing? Or, have you ever thought about what the parallel universe me would be like?”
Su Tianxue: “I think, no matter which universe, I would definitely be doing something that makes me happy. In fact, haven't I told you? One of my current jobs is to study the probability of cosmic folding and travel after asteroid collisions. But these studies can only be theoretical, proven by mathematical and physical models.”
Su Tianxue realized she seemed to have accidentally said a lot of academic jargon again. She looked at Shi Ning apologetically. “Sorry. It must be boring talking to me, right?”
She was not an interesting person. Su Tianxue was well aware of this fact.
Shi Ning had already changed her position, now lying on her stomach at the edge of the bed, looking at Su Tianxue. “It's not boring.”
“Haven't I said it before? I find this side of you very charming, very beautiful.”
Su Tianxue lowered her eyes. “Let's not talk about me. What about you?”
Shi Ning was puzzled. “Me?”
Su Tianxue: “We agreed to start as friends, but in fact, I seem to know very little about you. About what you like, about your past, or your plans for the future.”
Su Tianxue's question hit a sore spot for Shi Ning.
Since transmigrating, she hadn't thought about these things. Her attitude had always been flippant and carefree.
As for the past, it wasn't her past, so she didn't care.
As for the future, she had no plans at all.
She didn't have to worry about food or clothing; the background of a domineering CEO provided her with an absolutely superior living environment.
So...
What was she going to do in the future?
Su Tianxue saw the confusion on Shi Ning's face and said softly, “It's normal not to know, and it's okay if you can't think of anything. Not everyone can find what they want to do in this lifetime.”
Shi Ning: “You make me sound so idle.”
Su Tianxue chuckled lightly. “Aren't you?”
Shi Ning snorted.
She thought about how she had spent more than half of her past twenty-plus years slogging away in the legal industry. She had found something she could strive for her whole life. If she hadn't transmigrated, Shi Ning thought, her life would probably have continued down that path.
But if someone asked her, Do you like law?
She would hesitate.
She was born into a family of lawyers. After her family fell from grace, she climbed up from the bottom, relying on the weapon of law.
Whether she liked it or not was no longer important.
It had become her way of survival, her law of the jungle.
A sudden thought struck Shi Ning. “Su Tianxue, you love the stars so much. If I became a star in the sky, would you like me more?”
Su Tianxue: “The stars in the sky can be seen but not touched. Could you stand that?”
Shi Ning snorted. “Couldn't stand it, couldn't stand it.”
She threw herself onto Su Tianxue and nuzzled her cheek. “I just like being with you like this, anytime, anywhere.”
As she said this, she gazed into Su Tianxue's eyes, reached out her fingertips, and gently smoothed the stray hairs on Su Tianxue's face that had been messed up by the breeze. Her movements were gentle.
The touch of her fingertips on skin created a slight tickling sensation, like a light feather gently brushing across Su Tianxue's cheek.
Shi Ning said, “I don't want to become a star. I just like this, being able to look at you up close, touch you, and feel you breathe.”
She kissed Su Tianxue's cheek. “It's better if I don't become a star. And you'd better not become a star before I do, either. Because I don't like stars that much. If you became a star, I might not be able to like you as much as I do now.”
After doing all this, Shi Ning got up to wash up, but unexpectedly, Su Tianxue lifted her legs in a crab-like posture, clamping her whole body and trapping her in her embrace, unable to move.
Shi Ning was a little dazed, but when she spoke, her lips still carried a confident smile. She joked, “Su Tianxue, are you this eager to experience a little pleasure with me?”
Su Tianxue: “I can't?”
Shi Ning: “You can, you can. That's just what I want.”
She wanted to use a 【pancake flip maneuver】 to turn the tables, but who knew that Su Tianxue was determined, holding her down firmly and preventing her from moving.
Shi Ning: “?”
Su Tianxue: “Today, I want to try a different way to make you happy. How about it?”
Shi Ning's smile widened when she heard this. She looked at Su Tianxue. “Teacher Su, you look like you want to punish me?”
Su Tianxue: “If what I'm about to do is a punishment for you.”
Su Tianxue raised her hand and slapped Shi Ning's 【.....】.
Shi Ning sucked in a breath. “Fuck!”
Su Tianxue: “Is this considered a punishment?”
Shi Ning: “...Who taught you that?”
Su Tianxue: “Isn't this how teachers discipline students?”
Su Tianxue was just acting on intuition and instinct.
Su Tianxue: “But I have no reason to punish you, do I?”
Su Tianxue grabbed Shi Ning by the collar. “Have you done anything wrong?”
Looking at this version of Su Tianxue, Shi Ning found her both unfamiliar and filled with a strange charm.
For some reason, it was as if the woman had suddenly been stimulated and had an epiphany.
Shi Ning cleared her throat. “I saw my first love and ex-girlfriend today. Did I do something wrong?” she asked tentatively.
Su Tianxue: “I'm not that petty.”
Shi Ning breathed a sigh of relief.
Su Tianxue: “But since you've already found a crime for yourself, I probably shouldn't disappoint you.”
Su Tianxue's palm landed again.
Shi Ning instinctively wanted to flip the woman over and 【flip the pancake again】, but she didn't know if Su Tianxue had secretly taken some kind of physical training class or learned some new tricks for controlling people.
...For a moment, Shi Ning actually couldn't break free.
Su Tianxue was an Alpha, after all.
She had lost to Shi Ning repeatedly before purely because she was unskilled and unfamiliar. How could she be willing to continue losing to Shi Ning now?
Shi Ning gave up and lay flat. “Su Tianxue, you're not thinking of... today, are you?”
Su Tianxue: “Can't I?”
Does every bottom dream of topping?
Shi Ning: “Give it a try. I'll play along.”
She wanted to see just how far Su Tianxue could go.
Su Tianxue was a little skeptical about the credibility of Shi Ning's words, but when she had Shi Ning under control, she felt that today's Shi Ning was probably really planning to let her try and take control of the rhythm.
Shi Ning lay on the 【place for sleeping】, looking rather relaxed. She pulled a pillow for herself, placed it under 【the place below her jawline and above her shoulders】, and even found the most comfortable position for herself. Then, with her eyes as deep and bottomless as the sea, she watched Su Tianxue, observing her movements.
She could be sure that Su Tianxue had absolutely no experience topping someone. Now that she finally had the chance to turn the tables, her movements still looked so clumsy.
Shi Ning couldn't help but remind her, “I say, Miss Su, after being... so many times, don't you have any experience? Or is all the experience you've accumulated from being on the bottom?”
Shi Ning's provocation annoyed Su Tianxue a little. With a swift movement, she reached out and covered Shi Ning's mouth, probably meaning she didn't want her to spout any more nonsense and distract her.
This action gave Su Tianxue a bit of a queen's domineering beauty. Shi Ning looked up at her from below.
Shi Ning didn't speak, but the tip of her tongue lightly licked the palm of Su Tianxue's hand that was covering her lips. Her neatly trimmed and beautiful eyebrows raised slightly, hiding a hint of provocation.
A small water snake slithered across a person's skin, leaving a watermark behind.
This undoubtedly stirred the competitive desire in Su Tianxue's heart.
【...........................................................】
In the room, the marine life outside the glass wall was slowly moving. A curious jellyfish, wanting to know what was happening in the room, swam forward and pressed itself against the glass, observing everything inside. If they could speak, they would surely be asking many confused little questions right now. For example, why were the humans fighting again, and why were they lying on the bed in such a position?
A deep-sea mimic octopus, probably also out of curiosity, turned sideways and clung to the wall, its suckers sticking to the glass, observing the movements of the two people inside and imitating them at the same time.
The space and oxygen between the two people in the room were rapidly compressed and reduced, and the ambiguity was escalating quickly.
The oxygen and other chemical substances in the air were rubbed together and fused, then fiercely ignited, turning into flames that could detonate everything, spreading throughout the space like tongues of fire, entangling the two of them.
【...........................................................】
Su Tianxue ordered, a little unhappily, “Clothes. They're in the way.”
Shi Ning was almost amused by her tone. She said, “Aren't you supposed to be... today? What, you can't even handle my clothes?”
Su Tianxue glared at her. “What does that have to do with your clothes?”
Shi Ning: “When you were on the bottom before, I provided full service, helping you take care of everything. Now I want that kind of service too. I just don't want to move, I just want to be a pillow princess.”
After saying that in a cutesy, high-pitched voice, Shi Ning wanted to slap herself.
She might be a little crazy.
Su Tianxue's dignity as an Alpha wouldn't allow her to be mocked like this by someone she had pinned down.
But, she really seemed to be unable to deal with Shi Ning's clothes.
She ordered, “Sit up and take care of it yourself.”
Shi Ning suppressed a laugh as she looked at Su Tianxue. “Are you sure you want me to sit up?”
Su Tianxue nodded seriously, so Shi Ning sat up with a smile.
Her and Su Tianxue's posture was now almost a seated one, facing each other.
In such a position, it was easy to feel every movement of the other person's breathing, as it was right in front of them.
【................................................................................................................................................................................】
She said in a hoarse voice, “Sorry.”
She could have continued biting, like two wolves fighting to the death.
But, Shi Ning couldn't bear it.
She really wanted to win, but she couldn't bear to see Su Tianxue lose even more.
Besides, if they started filming the show tomorrow and it was discovered that both of their necks had bite marks, wouldn't that be ridiculous?
When an Alpha is bitten by another Alpha, they don't feel pleasure, but rather a sense of invasion and provocation.
Su Tianxue also came to her senses.
She froze for a moment. “Sorry.”
Shi Ning reached out and rubbed her head. “It's okay. I have thick skin.”
Shi Ning: “Why did you suddenly lose control just now?”
Su Tianxue coughed lightly. After a while, she said in a clear but hoarse voice, “You touched there. I couldn't take it.”
Shi Ning: “Where?”
She was asking even though she already knew.
Su Tianxue was a little embarrassed. “Don't ask.”
Shi Ning: “I want to know.”
Shi Ning: “Where did I touch?”
Su Tianxue was getting annoyed, and she wasn't as thick-skinned as Shi Ning, so she simply grabbed Shi Ning's hand to show her.
She made her touch it.
Su Tianxue: “Here. Happy now?”
Shi Ning chuckled lightly. “Su Tianxue, you're the one who led me there.”
………………
Music began to play in the room.
Ding-dong, ding-dong.
The skilled pianist moved lightly, alternating between fast and slow, heavy and light.
Just as the moment was about to arrive, the music stopped.
The pianist had stopped playing.
The corners of Su Tianxue's eyes were red. She didn't make a sound, just watched Shi Ning's movements.
She had to admit that when it came to arousing her, Shi Ning was already very experienced, one might even say it was second nature to her.
Shi Ning knew her every spot, knew what she found most unbearable, knew where her pleasure began and how it continued.
Shi Ning was right.
Lovers must have sufficiently compatible bodies to become lovers.
After all, this was the line that separated lovers from friends.
In all her life, Su Tianxue had only ever had such thoughts about Shi Ning. These thoughts made her happy and pained her, because she was also an Alpha. Every moment, she wanted to fight for dominance, to regain the upper hand. But when physical pleasure swept away her reason and drowned all logic, there was nothing she could do but try to suppress her sounds, as she was doing now, to not expose her weakness.
Shi Ning had long noticed Su Tianxue's unusual state.
She remained unmoved, even continuing to play her role as an omega with great interest.
After provocatively taking off her own clothes, Shi Ning even taught Su Tianxue, “Do you know how to unhook someone's 【the thing that women have to wear but don't like to because it's hot and constricting】 with one hand?”
Su Tianxue: “Why would I need to know that?”
Shi Ning: “If we don't end up as lovers and can only be friends, Su Tianxue, I think these experiences are what I can leave you with.”
Her smile held a hint of probing. “If you're with another omega next time... will you think of me?”
Hearing Shi Ning say this, Su Tianxue's head throbbed. Her face was flushed red, whether from anger or shyness, it was hard to tell.
She glared at Shi Ning. “Nonsense.”
Shi Ning: “How is this nonsense? You're right, our relationship has countless possible directions, and being lovers is just one of them. We also have to admit that we might not become lovers, right? I think you must have many criteria in your heart, Su Tianxue, and I'm not sure which ones I can pass.”
Hearing these words, Su Tianxue bit her lower lip.
For a moment, she wanted to tell Shi Ning.
Standards can be broken.
But she didn't say it out loud.
Shi Ning's fingertips gently caressed Su Tianxue's face. “I'm being serious, Su Tianxue. If we can't be together, I hope someone else can accompany you through this life.”
Su Tianxue's eardrums were about to burst.
She reached out and pushed Shi Ning's shoulder. “Shut up.”
Shi Ning raised an eyebrow slightly. “Am I wrong?”
Su Tianxue: “I don't want anyone else. I don't have feelings for anyone else.”
Hearing this, Shi Ning laughed inwardly, but her face remained composed.
She said, “Perhaps it's just because you haven't tried being with anyone else.”
“I'm a very generous person. If, on our path to becoming lovers, you need other ways to explore, you can tell me. After all, the marriage contract we signed also states that I won't interfere with your private life.”
Su Tianxue was probably truly angry now. She suddenly reached out and pushed Shi Ning down onto the 【place where normal humans sleep】.
【The thing that women have to wear but don't like to because it's hot and constricting】 that Shi Ning had just taken off was still hanging on her, not completely fallen off, with the half-cups just covering her.
It made Shi Ning look even sexier.
Sometimes, Su Tianxue felt that Shi Ning was like a siren guarding a sacred pool, luring people to their fall.
She always had countless ways to make people drool with desire for her, to make them linger and forget to leave, just like at this moment.
The siren was heartless and skilled at toying with others.
Su Tianxue pinned Shi Ning down, glaring at her. “I don't want other experiences.”
Shi Ning hummed. “And?”
It probably took a great deal of effort for Su Tianxue to get those few words out. She said, “Right now, I only want you.”
Having received a satisfactory answer, Shi Ning's lips curled up imperceptibly. She asked patiently, “You want me, so what do you want me to do?”
“Lie here like this, at your mercy, watching you slowly find your way? Or... Su Tianxue, do you want the same kind of pleasure as before right now?”
See, Su Tianxue thought, she really is a siren.
Even the woman's voice was like a siren's enchanting spell, drifting over bit by bit, winding into a delicate thread in the air, drilling into her ears, into her heart, and then winding down along her blood vessels, wrapping around her entire being. And this thread was called desire.
Shi Ning's fingers weren't behaving either. In this position, they secretly moved from the sides to the middle, touching...
She plucked it lightly, as if strumming a string.
Su Tianxue couldn't help but tilt her head back, her swan neck forming a beautiful arc.
“Wife, today I'm giving you the initiative. You can choose what you want.” Shi Ning stopped her movements, behaving herself. “If you want the first option, then I'll lie here obediently and let you do as you please. If you want the second option, then you...”
The six words she had heard during the sit-ups, Shi Ning returned them to Su Tianxue in their entirety.
Su Tianxue didn't say anything. After a while, 【..............】
She smiled with satisfaction, knowing that Su Tianxue had probably fallen into her trap and could no longer escape.
Shi Ning: “So this is your choice?”
Su Tianxue: “If you're going to do it, do it. If not, then forget it.”
Shi Ning really did act like a hands-off boss for once.
“Didn't we agree that you would... yourself?”
Su Tianxue glared at Shi Ning, then 【............】
How is romance born?
The pink bubbles all burst in the air. When all the ambiguity merged with the ocean waves outside the window, when the seawater itself had turned a smoky pink... fireworks bloomed overhead, and the galaxy swirled by their side.
Romance was born.
The transparent air in the world was dyed with all sorts of colors, like watercolors, splashing bit by bit with their movements, along with their sweat.
Everything seemed to be shrouded in a rainbow-colored mist.
【...............】
Shi Ning patted her back gently, as if coaxing a child, making her feel more comfortable.
After the steam dissipated, Shi Ning's fingertips were gentle and light, silently caressing Su Tianxue's face, tracing the lines of her features bit by bit, as if using her hand to gently sketch the world's most gentle, most romantic, and most passionate ink wash painting.
Shi Ning suddenly asked, “Does this count as steam?”
Su Tianxue's mind was blank. She hummed in confusion.
Shi Ning: “Then do you think you've been scalded?”
Su Tianxue said lazily, “I'm not that fragile.”
“Are you mentally prepared for tomorrow?”
Faced with Shi Ning's question, Su Tianxue, who had come back to her senses, got up gracefully. She casually picked up a bathrobe and draped it over herself. Her back looked extremely decisive and resilient.
“You've already asked me that question once,” Su Tianxue said. “I'll say it again. Since I agreed to this, it means I know the impact it will have on me, and it also means I can bear the consequences. So, Shi Ning, you don't need to worry about me like this.”
“I'm not some little girl who needs your protection at all times.”
Hearing Su Tianxue's words, Shi Ning's lips curved into a smile. “I know, Wife.”
“But I'm a little girl who needs protection.” Shi Ning followed her. “The bathroom is too dark, I'm scared. Let's wash together.”
Su Tianxue: “?”
Somewhere in the world, in a dark room, W was toying with her phone.
A man named Teng She was receiving his punishment, kneeling at her feet with his head bowed. His already stuttering tongue became even more incoherent as he spoke. “B-Boss, I-I was wrong.”
“What were you wrong about?” W played with the fountain pen in her hand.
Teng She looked at the sharp tip of the pen and lowered his eyes in fear. “I shouldn't have looked for Xu Lulu.”
“That's not your fault. After all, not everyone has an eye for picking good chess pieces.”
W chuckled lightly. “Your mistake was that you failed to find any information on Mo Lingyuan.”
Teng She was covered in a cold sweat. “Y-Yes, Boss. I-I won't do it again.”
W: “Next time?”
“I never keep useless people,” W snorted. “You can take a break for a while.”
“No! Boss, Boss, no!” Teng She wailed.
W tilted her head and smiled lightly. “Why don't you like to rest? Young people these days all love taking vacations. I've never seen someone like you who's unwilling to rest.”
Teng She knew W was a lunatic, but he rarely made mistakes, so he had never directly faced W's madness.
Now, looking at W, he seemed to understand the rumors others whispered behind her back.
W, a crazy, irrational viper.
The “rest” she spoke of...
Teng She knew it was nothing good.
He also knew that once he “rested,” there would be no “later.”
Just as he was about to say more, W gave a look, and someone next to her stuffed a cloth into Teng She's mouth.
Seeing the man being dragged away, W looked down at her phone, which displayed her chat with Mo Lingyuan.
Jiang Ningran's notebook had no record of Mo Lingyuan... She would have to observe a little longer.
