PANT - Chapter 49
Chapter 49
“Lu Lu! Over here! Why are you spacing out?”
Xin Ya had been walking for a while with her suitcase when she realized something was off. She turned around to see Zhou Lu still standing in the same spot.
The airport was a constant stream of people, and announcements echoed endlessly over the PA system. All of it became the background to Zhou Lu in Xin Ya’s eyes.
After her voice finally caught Zhou Lu’s attention, Xin Ya waved her arms energetically. “My love~~ come back to me~~~”
Zhou Lu trotted toward Xin Ya.
She was petite, pushing a suitcase nearly as tall as her shoulder, her short legs moving at a high frequency.
To Xin Ya, Zhou Lu looked exactly like an adorable hamster running in its wheel.
Xin Ya loved hamsters and had always thought Zhou Lu resembled one. When she ate, Zhou Lu would unconsciously puff up her cheeks, hoarding her favorite foods to eat slowly later. Hamsters loved to hoard food, and Zhou Lu loved to hoard money—it was a similar kind of genius.
When Zhou Lu reached her side, Xin Ya asked, puzzled, “Lu Lu, what were you doing just standing there?”
Zhou Lu: “Sorry.”
Noticing the strange look on Zhou Lu’s face, Xin Ya frowned with concern. “Lu Lu, what’s wrong?”
Zhou Lu shook her head. “I’m fine.”
Xin Ya didn’t believe that for a second.
She slammed her hand down on the suitcase Zhou Lu was about to pull forward again. Xin Ya was so strong that not only did the suitcase stop moving, but Zhou Lu couldn’t take another step either.
Xin Ya said with a serious expression, “You’re hiding something from me.”
Zhou Lu was helpless. “I’m really fine.”
Xin Ya: “You’re not!”
Faced with this side of Xin Ya, Zhou Lu was at a loss. She saw that Shi Ning and the others, who had been walking ahead, had heard the commotion and stopped to look back at them.
Not wanting to attract too much attention, Zhou Lu had no choice but to tell Xin Ya the truth. “I’ve never been on an international flight before. I’m a little nervous.”
Xin Ya reacted as if she were dealing with one of her bros, suddenly reaching out and slapping a hand onto Zhou Lu’s shoulder.
If Zhou Lu hadn’t been holding onto her suitcase for dear life, she might have gone flying.
What Herculean strength!!
Xin Ya: “It’s fine! It’s just like any other flight. Just get on the car and take a nap, and you’ll be fine.”
Zhou Lu: “...On the car? You mean on the plane, right?”
To cover up her slip of the tongue, Xin Ya launched into her classic cheesy pickup line routine. “Woman, once you’re in my car, you’re my woman.”
Zhou Lu: “Okay, sis. Sis, can you let go first? If we don’t catch up, I’m afraid we’ll miss our boarding time.”
Xin Ya immediately dropped her cool, domineering expression and became like a goofy husky. To Zhou Lu’s astonishment, she scooped Zhou Lu up, plopped her onto the suitcase, and slapped her butt. “Hold on tight!”
Zhou Lu was not pleased. “What are you doing! You think you’re riding a horse?!”
【This couple is killing me!!!】
【Riding a horse? Hali-Lu-Ya, you’re really something else.】
【Stop being all lovey-dovey here, the other two couples have been waiting for you forever!】
Xin Ya shouted, “Charge!”
Then, under everyone’s watchful eyes, she took off, pulling her own suitcase and the one Zhou Lu was sitting on, and sprinted toward Shi Ning and the others.
Zhou Lu’s face was pale, her suffering no less than that of someone with a fear of heights riding a roller coaster.
The only difference was that her suffering was from dying of social embarrassment.
After catching up with the main group and walking for a bit, Xin Ya started to feel that something was strange.
This didn’t look like the way to a normal boarding gate.
And on the path they were taking now, there was basically no one else heading in the same direction.
Weird.
Xin Ya paused for a moment, then raised her voice to greet Shi Ning up ahead. “Shi Ning, where are we going?”
Shi Ning replied, “To board the plane.”
Xin Ya: “This way?”
An airport staff member walking with them kindly explained, “Hello, ma’am. You’ll be flying on a special aircraft model this time, so the boarding gate is different from the others.”
Hearing this, Xin Ya was even more surprised.
What kind of special aircraft model required all this fuss?
Xin Ya enthusiastically greeted the pretty flight attendant accompanying them, trying to get friendly while also probing for information. “Hey beautiful, do you know what kind of plane we’re taking?”
The flight attendant just smiled mysteriously without saying a word.
Countless question marks floated in Xin Ya’s mind.
Led by the flight attendant, everyone boarded a business shuttle.
Xin Ya asked nervously, “I’ve never been on a shuttle like this. This isn’t going to take us to...?”
Shi Ning glanced at her. “Pork is fifteen yuan a jin right now. How much do you think you’d sell for?”
Xin Ya snorted. “I’m 1.7 meters tall and over 100 jin. I should be able to fetch a decent price.”
【LMAO】
【But I’ve never seen a shuttle like this either, what’s going on?】
【Whoa whoa whoa!!!!】
【My mom is asking me why I’m so surprised.】
【Is the production team really this rich???】
【Waaaaahhhh!!!】 The bullet comments were all joking around. A moment later-
The instant the shuttle stopped, all the bullet comments turned into a chorus of “whoas,” because what appeared before everyone was a private jet.
The plane stood there, its fuselage free of any airline logos or messy advertisements. It was pure white, save for a newly printed star chart.
Su Tianxue understood it at a glance and turned to look at Shi Ning, who smiled gracefully and announced, “Welcome aboard my plane.”
The bullet comments went wild.
【Damn! What a flex!!】
【As expected of CEO Shi! This grand gesture, I’m impressed.】
【Right now, I really want to fly on that plane too.】
【My expression is the same as Xin Ya’s right now.】
Xin Ya was dumbfounded. “Your plane?”
She repeated Shi Ning’s words, as if for confirmation.
Shi Ning nodded. “Mine.”
Xin Ya: “I thought private jets weren’t parked at airports.”
Shi Ning: “Then where would they be parked?”
Xin Ya: “In the garden of your eight-hundred-square-meter mansion?”
Shi Ning: “Parking at a public airport is more convenient for maintenance and safer.”
Xin Ya asked curiously, “You have to pay parking fees for this, right?”
Shi Ning: “A few million, I suppose.”
【Damn it! She’s flexing again!!】
【Is this the life of the rich?】
【I see Zhou Lu and Xin Ya are truly a pair. Their jaw-dropped expressions are identical!】
In truth, this was also Shi Ning’s first time seeing a private jet.
After all, before transmigrating, she hadn’t been this ridiculously wealthy. One could only say that in the world of this novel, everything had become exaggerated.
The main reason Shi Ning chose to use a private jet to take everyone abroad this time was because the night before, after the production team had booked tickets for everyone, someone online had leaked that sasaeng fans had already obtained Zhu Yu’s international flight schedule.
Somehow, they had found out the flight number Zhu Yu was taking.
Which meant they knew the flight number for their entire group.
Shi Ning found it annoying. Plus, with that W person still unresolved, she was worried about potential accidents.
So, she decided to just use the private jet.
It was convenient, fast, and she could even show off a little.
Su Wanxing asked curiously, “What’s that thing on the plane?”
Zhu Yu didn’t know either and just shook her head.
Su Wanxing knew her sister would definitely understand, so she turned to her coquettishly. “Jie, you must know. Tell me, please.”
Su Tianxue lowered her eyes. “It’s Capricorn.”
As soon as she finished speaking, the flight crew invited everyone to board. Su Tianxue and Shi Ning started walking forward.
Su Wanxing remained standing there, looking at the star chart.
A moment later, it dawned on her. “Holy crap.”
Zhu Yu: “What’s wrong?”
Su Wanxing: “My sister is a Capricorn.”
【A giant piece of sugar out of nowhere!!!】
【Help, I suspect Shi Ning brought out her private jet just to wait for this moment.】
【Look, this is the plane I bought for my wife x】
Once on board, the interior of the plane surprised everyone even more, including Shi Ning.
Unlike a regular plane, there were no densely packed rows of seats. Instead, there was a spacious area with small, room-like resting pods. You could sit, lie down, and even raise partitions to block the view of others.
Here, everyone could rest in peace.
Over the past couple of days, they had left the island, packed their things, and rushed to the airport to depart. Everyone was tired.
After boarding and marveling at the plane’s features, they all planned to get some rest.
Shi Ning and Su Tianxue’s seats were very close to each other.
The outer side of their seats was like a small room, with partitions that could be extended to block others’ line of sight.
The live broadcast had already been turned off, as the signal would be affected after takeoff, making it unsuitable for streaming.
Shi Ning flattened her seat and lay down.
She leaned on the small table between her and Su Tianxue’s seats, looking up at Su Tianxue.
Su Tianxue seemed completely unaffected and unmoved. As soon as she boarded and sat down, she had picked up a magazine to read.
Now, under Shi Ning’s gaze, she continued to flip through the magazine, the pages making a soft sound as they brushed against the air.
But strangely, after that, the sound of pages turning didn’t come again for a long time.
Su Tianxue was holding the book but wasn’t reading it anymore.
Shi Ning blinked blankly and asked directly, “Wife, what’s wrong? Are you not feeling well?”
She was worried about Su Tianxue.
Su Tianxue’s voice was clear and crisp, a perfect match for the clouds outside Shi Ning’s window.
Su Tianxue gently closed the book in her hands, then slowly picked it up and placed it on the bookshelf in front of her seat.
She put it back in its place, tidying it up.
While Shi Ning was still lying there in a daze, Su Tianxue had already leaned down and kissed her on the forehead. This proactive kiss was sudden and inexplicable, leaving Shi Ning a bit flustered. But by instinct, she had already reached out, cupped the back of Su Tianxue’s head, and lifted her own head to give her a deep kiss.
A kiss on a plane carried a unique sense of pressure, very different from one on the ground. The body’s instinctive feeling of weightlessness and floating became particularly pronounced as the plane ascended.
Perhaps it was a coincidence that they hit a patch of turbulence, as the entire fuselage began to sway slightly.
It was in this moment of instability that Shi Ning and Su Tianxue’s kiss seemed to become even tighter and more inseparable.
They tangled their lips and tongues wildly, relentlessly stealing the oxygen from each other’s mouths. At the same time, it seemed they were also passing oxygen to one another through this act.
At some point, Shi Ning had quietly retracted the small partition table between her and Su Tianxue.
Their two seats joined together, becoming like a small bed on the plane.
Just as their bodies were about to become completely entangled again, Su Tianxue called a halt.
She reached out and pushed Shi Ning away.
Shi Ning didn’t pursue, just lay on her pillow and watched Su Tianxue.
A question was circling in her mind.
A question that had just appeared and hadn’t left.
Finally, unable to hold it in, she asked.
Shi Ning: “Su Tianxue, why did you kiss me?”
Su Tianxue: “I wanted to, so I did.”
Shi Ning: “Oh.”
Su Tianxue looked at Shi Ning. “Does there need to be a reason for that?”
Shi Ning shook her head.
Su Tianxue picked up the book again, holding it in her hand.
She asked Shi Ning, “What about you?”
Shi Ning paused, not understanding. “Me? What?”
Su Tianxue said, “You often like to kiss me. Why?”
Shi Ning: “Isn’t that the question I just asked you?”
Su Tianxue raised an eyebrow slightly. “Can’t I ask it back now?”
Shi Ning was helpless. “You can. Like you said, anything is possible.”
Shi Ning reached out her hand. As she spoke, her fingertips fell like a gentle drizzle, and her gaze, like a thin spring mist, settled bit by bit upon Su Tianxue’s eyes and brows.
Her voice was just as soft, like the curling clouds outside the plane window, a single glance enough to knead its way into one’s heart.
Shi Ning said, “I do that because I like it. I like the stray hairs on your forehead. I like the curve of your eyebrows. I like the way the corners of your eyes look when you’re not smiling. I like the faint mole on the tip of your nose. I like the fine lines on your lips that show when you press them together lightly.”
Shi Ning: “Su Tianxue, do those count as reasons?”
Hearing this, Su Tianxue couldn’t help but laugh. She asked Shi Ning, “To hear you say it, am I really that good-looking?”
Shi Ning’s eyes widened. “Have you never looked in a mirror in your life?”
Su Tianxue rolled up the book, turned to her side, and stopped looking at Shi Ning.
Shi Ning: “What’s wrong, wife?”
Su Tianxue didn’t say anything.
Shi Ning guessed blindly, “Shy?”
What awaited her was Su Tianxue’s rolled-up magazine, which landed on her head.
It wasn’t heavy, but very gentle.
Even after being hit, Shi Ning laughed happily.
After they got off the private jet, a dedicated team was there to receive them.
A member of the production team explained, “For this period, we’ll be staying at a guesthouse. The owner is already preparing dinner and waiting for everyone.”
Xin Ya’s stomach rumbled. She said enthusiastically, “Yay, I want to eat!!”
It was only then that Shi Ning noticed a small red mark on the side of Su Tianxue’s neck, not quite hidden by her collar when she stood up. Just as she was thinking about how to help Su Tianxue cover it, Su Wanxing leaned in, confused, and asked blankly, “Jie, what’s wrong with your neck?”
Su Tianxue frowned, puzzled. “What’s wrong with it?”
Su Wanxing took a small mirror out of her pocket and handed it to Su Tianxue.
Su Tianxue held up the mirror and saw a small, reddish mark on the right side of her neck.
Seeing it, Xin Ya couldn’t help but remark, “There are mosquitoes on the plane now?”
Su Wanxing was shocked. “No way.”
She was about to stand on her tiptoes to pull at her sister’s collar and see what it was.
Shi Ning, the mosquito herself, froze.
She reached out and pulled Su Wanxing back. “Do you really think there could be mosquitoes on a plane?”
When did Su Wanxing’s intelligence drop to the same level as Xin Ya’s?
Was this the legendary intelligence-lowering infection?
【Mosquitoes, my ass】
【That’s clearly a hickey!!!!!】
【Can someone please describe to me what unspeakable things happened on the plane just now】
【If that’s a mosquito bite, then I’ve never been bitten by a mosquito in my life :)】
The moment Shi Ning pulled Su Wanxing away, Zhu Yu understood.
Her face flushed slightly as she pulled Su Wanxing away and said to the production team, “Let’s get going, I’m hungry too.”
Everyone rode through the foreign scenery and arrived at the arranged cabin in the woods. They were a bit reserved when they first met the host family, but under their warm hospitality, they quickly blended in.
The host family had a son and a daughter, and the elders of the family were also present. They seemed to be a happy and harmonious family.
After tasting the local specialty dishes, they were invited outside for a barbecue.
A bonfire was lit, its flickering flames illuminating the night sky. The cold in the air seemed to detour around the sight of the fire.
The group stayed outside, wrapped in special cold-proof clothing.
Shi Ning felt even colder. She had a naturally cold constitution, and in this kind of situation, she felt as if she had fallen into an ice cave. She kept rubbing her palms together, trying to generate a little warmth.
Su Tianxue was chatting with the elders of the host family.
Coincidentally, the old man of the family had been an astronomy professor. Although he was retired now, he was still very knowledgeable, and Su Tianxue was having a great conversation with him.
While chatting, Su Tianxue silently took off her own scarf and handed it to Shi Ning.
Shi Ning was confused.
Su Tianxue: “You’re not wearing gloves. Wrap your hands with the scarf.”
So, she had noticed Shi Ning rubbing her hands earlier.
Shi Ning: “Aren’t you cold?”
Su Tianxue: “My name has the character for ‘snow’ in it. How could I be afraid of the cold?”
Shi Ning: What a cold joke.
She took Su Tianxue’s scarf and buried her face in it for a sniff.
The soft, comfortable, and fluffy scarf carried Su Tianxue’s scent.
She wrapped it around her hands, and instantly felt much warmer.
The old man said with a chuckle, “You two have such a good relationship.”
Su Tianxue nodded politely and returned to the topic she had been discussing with the old man.
They heard that there was an abandoned observatory in the area, which greatly interested Su Tianxue, but the old man said it was currently off-limits.
Although Su Tianxue was a little disappointed, she didn’t insist, and instead turned the conversation to the topic of the sun’s internal circulation.
This was the first time in a long while that Shi Ning had seen Su Tianxue express her opinions so freely and converse with someone so enthusiastically.
As she spoke, Su Tianxue’s eyes sparkled with light.
Shi Ning got up, preparing to grab another skewer of corn to roast. The host greeted her with a smile and came over to chat. “I can see that your wife is a person with great ideals.”
Shi Ning: “Yes, she is.”
The host asked again, “Astronomy seems to be her career. I’m curious, what is your profession?”
As soon as this question was asked, Shi Ning’s mind went blank. She didn’t know how to answer.
If she said her profession was managing a company...
But in reality, what she was doing now was merely enjoying the fruits of someone else’s labor. This was what “Shi Ning” and her family had left behind; it didn’t belong to her.
At this moment, she finally understood the source of the strange and awkward feeling that had been hidden deep inside her for so long.
In the days since she had transmigrated, she had been like a planet revolving around the star that was Su Tianxue.
She had no life of her own, let alone a job.
So now, when asked about her work, she found herself unable to answer.
Xin Ya had walked over to their side at some point. Thinking that Shi Ning wasn’t answering because her English was poor, she enthusiastically replied to the host’s question in Chinglish: “She is a company’s boss. I am a... uh...”
Xin Ya didn’t know how to translate “internet celebrity.”
Shi Ning helped her solve the problem.
After the host left, Xin Ya looked at Shi Ning in shock. “I thought you couldn’t answer because you didn’t know how to speak English.”
Shi Ning had grown accustomed to Xin Ya’s peculiar way of thinking.
She didn’t say much more and was about to leave, but Xin Ya grabbed her.
Xin Ya pulled Shi Ning to a spot where the cameras couldn’t see them.
Shi Ning was very confused by Xin Ya’s strange behavior. “What’s wrong?”
Xin Ya said cautiously, “There’s something I want to discuss with you.”
Shi Ning: “Go ahead.”
Xin Ya fidgeted for a long time before finally asking frankly, “So, you and Su Tianxue, um, how much are you guys getting paid to pretend to be a couple?”
The moment this question came out, Shi Ning was stunned. She had a gut feeling that there was more hidden behind Xin Ya’s question.
So, she looked at Xin Ya with a half-smile, her arms crossed over her chest. Su Tianxue’s scarf was wrapped around her hand, fluttering gently in the wind.
Shi Ning: “Why do you ask?”
Xin Ya: “Since we’re in the same boat, I’ll be honest with you. Me and Zhou Lu... we’re also... you know...”
Shi Ning: “You know what?”
Xin Ya stomped her foot. “Bro! You know!! We also took money to, uh, become a couple. So I wanted to ask you how the pricing works for you and Su Tianxue.”
Shi Ning raised an eyebrow slightly. “You’re saying you and Zhou Lu are a fake couple for money?”
Xin Ya: “Yeah, the production team invited us, and they offered too much. I couldn’t resist. You absolutely can’t tell the production team, though. If the boss of the show finds out, I’m afraid we’ll have to pay a penalty.”
Shi-the-boss-of-the-show-Ning: “Oh?”
Xin Ya had been holding this in for days and had finally found an outlet. She poured her heart out to Shi Ning. “And I always feel like Lu Lu isn’t enthusiastic enough at work, not serious enough. I was thinking, maybe I’m not paying her enough?”
Shi Ning patted Xin Ya’s shoulder sympathetically. “Don’t think about it. Some things, you can’t figure out even if you try.”
One’s brain determines the limits of one’s thoughts.
Xin Ya was confused. “What does that mean?”
Shi Ning: “Let me put it simply. The reason my wife and I got to where we are today is because of the ‘wife fund.’ But you probably don’t need that for now.”
In Shi Ning’s view, Xin Ya probably wouldn’t have the chance to marry a wife anytime soon, so this so-called “wife fund” would likely be useless.
Unexpectedly, after hearing her words, Xin Ya actually brought it up with Zhou Lu that night when they were going to bed.
Looking at Zhou Lu, who was holding a quilt and preparing to sleep on the floor, Xin Ya suddenly said, “Lu Lu, if you wanted a wife fund, how much would you want?”
Hearing this, Zhou Lu frowned, feeling puzzled.
Why was she suddenly unable to understand what Xin Ya was saying?
Although their minds had never been on the same wavelength, they could at least communicate. What was this sudden talk of a “wife fund”?
Seeing Zhou Lu’s expression, Xin Ya thought she didn’t understand what a wife fund was. She earnestly explained the wisdom she had received from Shi Ning, then declared, “Don’t worry, Lu Lu, I will definitely meet your requirements for this wife fund.”
Zhou Lu really couldn’t stop herself from rolling her eyes.
She felt like her eyes were about to roll into outer space.
She put down the quilt in her hands and looked at Xin Ya. “Do you even know what a wife fund is?”
Xin Ya: “I do. It’s the capital to find someone to pretend to be your wife.”
Zhou Lu felt like she was on the verge of a mental breakdown.
It felt like her intellectual defenses were under attack.
She patiently explained to Xin Ya, word by word, “A wife fund means the capital to marry a wife.”
Although Xin Ya was a bit silly and her thought process was unusual, she still had a normal level of intelligence.
Back in school, she could at least scrape by with a passing grade on exams.
Now, hearing what Zhou Lu said, Xin Ya understood immediately. A flash of lightning went through her mind, as if her major energy channels had been unblocked in that instant. Blood flowed freely throughout her body, and several large Chinese characters popped up above her head like a bullet comment, reading: I GET IT.
Xin Ya clapped her hands together with a loud smack, representing her moment of great enlightenment.
Xin Ya: “So! Shi Ning and Su Tianxue aren’t pretending to be a couple at all! They’re a real couple now!!”
Zhou Lu: “...”
Why did this person look like she had just discovered some secret martial arts manual or a world secret?
Xin Ya said excitedly, “This is such a big deal! Do they know about this?”
Zhou Lu had to pinch the philtrum below her nose to stay conscious.
Zhou Lu: “I think you’re probably the only one who didn’t know.”
Xin Ya: “Eh???”
Xin Ya fell into thought. Seeing this, Zhou Lu had a bad feeling.
Xin Ya: “So, to be like them, we have to date for real first.”
Zhou Lu: “Maybe.”
Xin Ya: “Then let’s be like them!”
Zhou Lu: “Why are you so insistent on being like them? Isn’t it fine the way we are now? No one can tell we’re a fake couple.”
Xin Ya plopped down on the bed like a child throwing a tantrum. “But I’m so envious of them!”
Zhou Lu: “Then you can find someone you like and date her. You can be like that too.”
Xin Ya: “But I just want to do that kind of thing with you!”
Xin Ya scratched her head blankly and asked Zhou Lu, “Does this count as liking someone?”
This woman, who had been spouting cheesy pickup lines for so long, didn’t even understand what it meant to like someone.
Zhou Lu’s eyes suddenly became wary. She said, “Is this some new tactic for a boss to avoid paying wages?”
Xin Ya was stunned. “Huh??”
Zhou Lu was resolute. “Let me make it clear beforehand, my salary will absolutely not be affected or shaken by anything.”
Xin Ya looked at Zhou Lu like this, and after a long moment, she snorted, turned around, threw the quilt Zhou Lu had placed on the bed onto the floor, and then rolled into bed herself, pulling the covers completely over her head.
Zhou Lu blinked, not understanding. She picked up the quilt that had been thrown on the floor and glanced worriedly at Xin Ya.
The heating in the room was blasting.
Zhou Lu: “Be careful, don’t overheat.”
Xin Ya: “None of your business!”
Zhou Lu really couldn’t understand why Xin Ya was so angry.
She hugged her quilt, lay down obediently, curled up neatly under the covers, and lay flat on her back, her hands gripping the edges of the quilt as she stared at the ceiling.
The ceiling was made of glass, offering a clear view of the night sky, which seemed quite romantic.
But Zhou Lu was only worried that if a bird flew by and pooped, a dropping might suddenly land right on top of her head.
After staring for a while, Zhou Lu had a sudden flash of inspiration.
She shrank further into her quilt, leaving only her eyes exposed, and asked, “Xin Ya, are you asleep?”
Xin Ya didn’t answer.
Zhou Lu said leisurely, “You weren’t trying to confess to me just now, were you?”
Xin Ya, who had been playing dead a second ago, immediately shouted at the top of her lungs, “No!”
Hearing this, Zhou Lu breathed a sigh of relief. “That’s good. Good night.”
Xin Ya’s eyes were wide with anger. “Why are you so relieved? Are you happy?”
Zhou Lu: “Yeah, I’d hate to lose this job.”
Work! It was always about work!
Xin Ya was about to die of anger from Zhou Lu, though she didn’t know why she was so angry. Logically, she was Zhou Lu’s boss.
An employee expressing such love and loyalty for her job, and so earnestly stating her willingness to continue working, should have made her happy. But right now, her heart was filled with frustration.
Xin Ya rolled over, turning her back to Zhou Lu.
She thought she wouldn’t be able to sleep, but a short while later, Xin Ya’s snores began to fill the room.
Zhou Lu sighed helplessly. Knowing she was asleep, she got up and pulled down the tightly wrapped quilt.
Xin Ya was already covered in sweat. Zhou Lu carefully wiped her down with a damp towel.
The moon was in the night sky, watching over everything.
The next day, Xin Ya woke up without getting sick, but she looked a little unhappy.
For the rest of the trip, everyone noticed that Xin Ya and Zhou Lu seemed to be fighting.
But no one knew why.
Su Wanxing actually quite liked Xin Ya. She thought Xin Ya had the feel of a comedian, was hilarious, and had a good personality. Seeing her bickering with Zhou Lu like this made her quite worried.
So, Su Wanxing secretly went around asking others what was going on. Everyone said they didn’t know. Only Shi Ning touched her nose, her eyes darting around, looking a little guilty.
Su Wanxing narrowed her eyes, locking onto Shi Ning. “Are you hiding something from us?”
Shi Ning said, “Of course not!”
Su Wanxing knew she definitely wouldn’t get anything out of Shi Ning, so she turned to persuade Su Tianxue. “Jie, hurry up and ask what’s going on with my sister-in-law.”
Before Su Tianxue could even speak, Shi Ning heard the form of address and smiled.
She smiled with extraordinary kindness. “Wanxing, what did you just call me?”
Su Wanxing felt goosebumps rise on her skin. She took a step back and said hesitantly, “S-sister-in-law.”
Shi Ning’s face broke into a full smile, her beautiful eyes curving into two crescent moons. She said, “Aiya, no need to trouble your sister. Sister-in-law will tell you right now.”
Seeing the speed of Shi Ning’s mood change, Su Tianxue couldn’t bear to watch.
Shi Ning crooked a finger at Su Wanxing, gesturing for her to come closer and listen. After a hushed conversation, Su Wanxing understood the reason.
Seeing Su Wanxing’s shocked expression, Shi Ning sighed softly.
Shi Ning: “You can’t tell anyone else about this. This is a secret between you and your sister-in-law.”
She emphasized the words “sister-in-law.”
Su Wanxing nodded. Right now, her mind was completely filled with the word “shock,” leaving no room to think about anything else.
For example—
Shi Ning’s obsession with that form of address.
Hearing this, Zhu Yu asked curiously, “Can’t even I know?”
Su Wanxing was resolute. “No!”
She had principles!
Zhu Yu was still smiling, but the light in her eyes seemed to have dimmed.
Su Tianxue didn’t ask, but Shi Ning said to her, “Wife, I can’t tell you about this for now.”
Su Tianxue: “Do I look like I want to know?”
Shi Ning: Hmph! A wife who isn’t the least bit gossipy! So not cute!
The show was recorded for three days, and Xin Ya and Zhou Lu bickered for three days.
#HaliLuYaBreakup#
#HaliLuYaFighting#
These hashtags even made it onto the trending topics back in their home country.
These three days were probably the most relaxed and enjoyable three days since they started recording the variety show. In this foreign city, everyone experienced an unprecedented sense of joy and ease. Unlike back home, this place was filled with a natural and cultural atmosphere. Reinforced concrete was rare, perhaps because they were staying in a relatively remote town.
They went to see a frozen lake together and hiked through a snowy forest together.
As their departure day approached.
The old grandfather of the host family suddenly told everyone that the previously abandoned observatory was now open for visits.
As the old man spoke, he even gave Shi Ning a wink.
On the way to the observatory, Su Tianxue pulled Shi Ning aside and asked, “Did you arrange this?”
Shi Ning smiled slightly. “No, it wasn’t me.”
Shi Ning: “What’s truly great is the power of money.”
Su Tianxue: “...”
Su Tianxue reached out to tidy Shi Ning’s scarf, which had been blown messy by the wind, and then gave Shi Ning two words: “Dummy.”
Why are you so good to me?
Su Tianxue: “Are your hands still cold?”
Shi Ning: “Not anymore.”
She raised her hands as if to show off, wiggling her fingers flexibly. The smiley faces on the colorful gloves she was wearing moved along with them. “I’ve gotten smarter.”
Su Tianxue: “Good.”
The hand Su Tianxue had just extended, she pulled back.
Shi Ning noticed this movement, quickly pulled off her gloves, and grabbed Su Tianxue’s hand, lacing their fingers together. Then she tucked Su Tianxue’s hand into her own pocket.
Su Tianxue: “Hm?”
Shi Ning beamed. “Suddenly, I feel cold again.”
Wearing gloves was nowhere near as nice as holding her wife’s hand.
