DDT - Chapter 10
Chapter 10: Zombie King × Little White Flower (9)
The moment she finished speaking, the men's eyes widened as they stared in disbelief at the arrogant woman before them.
The scar-faced man was the first to speak. "Little beauty, don't be scared, and don't resist. Just play with us for a bit, and you'll have a good time."
"That's right, that's right. You're just a weak little woman. What could you possibly do to us?" another man chimed in.
With predatory gazes like hungry wolves, the men closed in on the corner where Chi Junluo and Yi Shuhan stood.
Seeing the men turn their attention toward Chi Junluo and Yi Shuhan, the woman who had spoken earlier revealed a triumphant smile. Behind her, several women looked at her with admiration. A couple of others frowned deeply, clearly disapproving of the situation, but they didn't say anything to stop it. After all, the power disparity between them and the group of men was too great, and they didn't want to bring trouble upon themselves. It was just a pity for those two girls, as beautiful as flowers in the prime of their youth.
The men drew closer step by step, with the scar-faced man leading the charge.
Chi Junluo let out a cold snort and stepped forward. As the scar-faced man watched with a slightly confused expression, she delivered a vicious uppercut to his chin. He felt his lower jaw slam into his upper jaw, his teeth crashing together with a sickening crack. A tooth shattered on impact. He was lucky his tongue hadn't been out, or it might have been bitten in two.
A violent jolt sent his head spinning. In an instant, he lost all sense of balance and perception. The next second, he collapsed limply to the ground.
All the men and women: (⊙o⊙)……
After a moment of shock, the men came to their senses. "Not bad, beautiful. But it's a shame. No matter how tough you are, you can't beat our numbers. Just surrender quietly. Otherwise, these iron rods don't have eyes!"
The men put on a ferocious act, but Chi Junluo was not one to be intimidated. She was the great Zombie King; why would she fear a few pathetic maggots who weren't even low-level Ability Users?
"Trash," Chi Junluo said coolly, her voice dripping with indifference. Her disdainful attitude enraged the men. Several of them brandished their iron rods and shouted, "Bitch! You're doing this the hard way, are you? Today, we'll teach you a lesson!" With that, they swung their rods at Chi Junluo's head.
Chi Junluo wasn't worried in the slightest. The speed of these weakling humans was laughably slow in her eyes. She deftly dodged two iron rods aimed at her head, then suddenly dropped into a low stance. With a powerful horizontal sweep of her right arm, she easily sent two men flying. The sheer force of her blow astonished the men, but the armed group refused to believe it. Thinking the previous events were just flukes, they hesitated for only a moment before cautiously approaching Chi Junluo with their rods raised. Chi Junluo took a few steps forward, completely shielding the heroine from the men.
A warmth spread through Yi Shuhan's heart, but it was quickly overshadowed by anxiety for Chi Junluo. Unfortunately, she was unarmed. Rushing forward would only be a hindrance to Chi Junluo and might even expose their vulnerability to the men's iron rods. For a moment, the situation was at a stalemate.
While the men were circling Chi Junluo, the woman with the iron rod at the front of the other group in the corner wore an unpleasant expression. She still had a sliver of conscience and knew that her group had done wrong. Using Chi Junluo and the other girl as a shield to buy time was a thought that had screamed from the depths of all the women's hearts; it just so happened that the malicious woman from before had been the one to voice it.
This was the apocalypse, after all. Everyone just wanted to survive. No one wanted to experience such a disaster, and they were all happy to see someone else pushed forward to bear the brunt of the harm. It had been over a year since the apocalypse began. During their flight to the major bases, how many of these ordinary people hadn't pushed a companion into the path of an approaching zombie horde to buy themselves time to escape?
Everyone knew it. Whose hands weren't stained with the blood of the innocent?
Yi Shuhan, of course, was unaware of the complex turmoil in the women's minds. She had no lives on her conscience. She had survived this long entirely through the skills she had honed fighting zombies alongside her companions. With a mind as pure as hers, she naturally couldn't comprehend the thoughts of the women in the other corner, who had survived by sacrificing their comrades.
Seeing Yi Shuhan's anxious expression, the woman with the iron rod couldn't bear it. As the men closed in, she finally grit her teeth, raised her arm, and threw the rod with all her might. It flew toward Yi Shuhan and landed at her feet with a clang.
Both Yi Shuhan and the men were momentarily stunned. Yi Shuhan was the first to react. She quickly bent down, picked up the long, thin iron rod, and gripped it tightly. Taking a step forward, she peeked out from behind Chi Junluo, warily eyeing the group of vicious men.
Seeing that Yi Shuhan was now armed, the men were furious. They shot a venomous glare at the leading woman in the corner, secretly deciding to teach her a lesson after they dealt with the two young women in front of them.
The men swarmed forward, raining a flurry of blows down on Chi Junluo. The barrage of rods was too dense, and since Chi Junluo couldn't risk revealing her abilities, she had no choice but to endure several hits with her body.
Expecting a bloody scene, several of the women turned away, unable to watch. The rods struck Chi Junluo with a series of thuds. But the image the men had fantasized about—Chi Junluo collapsing to the ground—never happened. Instead, the powerful impact sent a shockwave up their arms, splitting the skin between their thumbs and index fingers. Two of the men cried out in pain, their hands no longer able to grip the rods, which fell to the floor. While Chi Junluo was dealing with the men in front, a few others snuck around behind her, reaching out to grab Yi Shuhan.
Yi Shuhan instinctively swung the iron rod, landing a precise and heavy blow on the head of the foremost man. The sound of the rod connecting with his skull was sickening. Before the man could even react, he collapsed, unconscious. Blood began to flow from his head, a frightening sight.
Realizing that Yi Shuhan was no pushover, the men behind her, who were unarmed, tried to stop and retreat. But two of them couldn't halt their momentum and rushed right in front of her. With two reflexive swings of her rod, Yi Shuhan took them both down.
Meanwhile, the fact that Chi Junluo had taken several hits without a scratch had thoroughly terrified the lust-driven men. Before they could even process what was happening, Chi Junluo kicked them one by one, sending them flying several meters away to lie on the ground, wailing in agony.
In just a short time, the floor was littered with men. The remaining men who had held back and the women in the other corner, each with their own thoughts, all stared with wide eyes and gaping mouths, sucking in a cold breath. How could two ordinary people be so powerful?!
The few remaining men, their courage shattered by the sight of the blood and the brutality of Chi Junluo and Yi Shuhan, stumbled backward, begging loudly for their lives. "We were wrong, we were wrong! Please spare us, ladies! We'll never do it again!"
Seeing the men in a position of weakness, several women in the other group grew excited, preparing to use Chi Junluo's power to give the men a sound beating.
The women picked up the iron rods the men had dropped. Grinning, they walked over to the men cowering in the corner and began to bring the rods down on them.
In that moment, it was as if the peasants had overthrown their masters. The large room was instantly filled with endless cries of pain.
Unexpectedly, several surveillance cameras in the room broadcasted the entire scene, yet no one from the base intervened. It seemed that in the apocalypse, the lives of ordinary people were truly as worthless as weeds.
Chi Junluo pulled Yi Shuhan to sit with her in their corner, watching everything unfold with cold eyes.
