PANT - Chapter 42
Chapter 42
The night was as still as a painting. A breeze blew in from the island, causing the small cabin on the water to sway.
Staying in a cabin like this felt like living on a boat.
Shi Ning set up her tent.
The once-spacious living room instantly became cramped. The pathways were squeezed until there was barely any room left.
After finishing, Shi Ning patted the nearly non-existent dust from her hands with satisfaction.
Shi Ning: “Not bad.”
Su Tianxue: “Do you have a sleeping bag?”
Shi Ning pointed to the gray bag set to one side. “Right here, Wife.”
Su Tianxue: “Mm, good night then.”
After confirming Shi Ning’s sleeping arrangements for the night, Su Tianxue said her goodbyes, ready to return to her own bedroom to rest.
How could Shi Ning let her go?
She moved closer and took the woman’s hand. “Won’t you rest with me for a bit?”
Su Tianxue: “What counts as rest when I’m with you?”
Shi Ning wasn’t annoyed, only smiling. “We can sit together and rest for a while right now.”
Su Tianxue probably wasn’t sleepy either, so she silently indulged Shi Ning’s request, accompanying her to sit on the sea cabin’s small, modest platform.
On the platform were a small table and two chairs.
The sun umbrella was folded up, its edges rustling loudly in the wind.
Shi Ning had imagined that she and Su Tianxue could sit here romantically, looking up at the vast sea and the star-filled sky.
Who knew that once they were outside, the sea would be a sheet of black, so dense it could swallow everything. The night sky had practically merged with the sea, so dark and gloomy it felt like the end of the world, with the sea’s above and below mixing together, inseparable.
There wasn’t a single star.
Shi Ning’s hair was a mess in the wind. Forget romance; all that was left was a disheveled state.
Su Tianxue stood behind her, teasing her nonchalantly, “How is it? Do you like this kind of rest?”
Shi Ning wanted to tough it out, but if she took a step forward, the powerful wind would make her stagger.
She hugged her arms and turned to look at Su Tianxue pitifully. “I don’t like it. Let’s go back inside.”
Once the door was closed, the wind wasn’t as strong.
Shi Ning tidied her wind-blown hair, thinking that staying in a sea cabin really wasn’t a good decision.
Seeing her nearly-knotted hair, Su Tianxue pulled over a chair and had Shi Ning sit down. Then she reached for the comb in her suitcase and silently, gently began to sort out her hair.
When she hit a snag, Su Tianxue would stop, reach out, and carefully pinch the upper part of that lock of hair before pulling.
With this method, even if she had to suddenly pull hard to undo a knot, it wouldn’t be so painful.
Shi Ning had been grimacing, thinking she had to endure it and not scream out because combing her hair hurt too much.
But unexpectedly, with Su Tianxue doing it this way, it didn’t hurt at all.
Shi Ning: “You’re quite skilled, Wife.”
Su Tianxue: “Mm, I used to comb Wanxing’s hair.”
Shi Ning: “Let me comb your hair later, okay?”
Su Tianxue: “No need.”
Shi Ning: “Why not!”
Su Tianxue: “I don’t want to worry about hair loss just yet.”
Shi Ning: “…”
Hmph!
After Su Tianxue had smoothed out all of Shi Ning’s hair, she turned to pull the strands from the comb and throw them in the trash.
But the moment she turned her back to Shi Ning, Shi Ning reached out and pulled her into her arms.
The scene was a bit like something out of a romantic drama.
If you added eight camera angles, it would feel just like a pure idol drama.
Shi Ning sat there, smiling, reaching out to pull Su Tianxue. With a turn, Su Tianxue spun around as if in a circle, like a fluttering butterfly flying into Shi Ning’s embrace.
Well…
If they were on solid ground, it would have been such a romantic scene.
But unfortunately, Shi Ning did this while they were in a sea cabin that was swaying and rocking with the waves.
And so, the moment she was pulled, Su Tianxue couldn’t help but let out a small gasp.
It was a sense of weightlessness different from being on land, one that could make a person feel scared in an instant.
Su Tianxue’s reaction startled Shi Ning as well, and the chair lost its balance and tipped backward.
Just as she and Su Tianxue were about to fall to the floor, Shi Ning acted quickly, protecting the back of Su Tianxue’s head.
Clang.
A loud noise echoed through the sea cabin.
The entire cabin seemed to have been shaken.
【Anyone who didn’t know would think something major was happening inside.】
【This teaches us not to try to be cool so casually~~~】
【What a complete disaster, hahaha.】
The production team was notified that Shi Ning seemed to have hit the back of her head and was bleeding. They rushed over in a panic to treat her injury.
Su Tianxue watched as the accompanying medical staff dabbed the back of Shi Ning’s head with an alcohol-soaked cotton ball. Every time the cotton ball touched her, Shi Ning’s face would scrunch up like a bitter melon, and like a child, she insisted on clutching Su Tianxue’s hand.
The moment the medical staff lifted their hand and the cotton ball touched her wound, Shi Ning would yelp.
Su Tianxue let her hold on, watching her without a word.
Shi Ning tilted her head up, looking like a big, pitiful baby. “Wife.”
Even the medical staff couldn’t take it anymore and teased her, “I say, Ms. Shi, does it really hurt that much? Look at you. The audience is going to misunderstand me.”
【They won’t, they won’t.】
【Angel in white, don’t you worry. We viewers have eyes and brains.】
【You can tell at a glance that this one is faking it!】
Shi Ning’s usually suave voice was now so aggrieved it sounded like it was about to drip water.
Shi Ning: “It really hurts.”
The medical staff replied perfunctorily, “Mm-hm, mm-hm.”
Shi Ning: “Wife QAQ”
Su Tianxue reached out and covered Shi Ning’s pitiful eyes.
In that instant, Shi Ning’s vision went dark.
Su Tianxue’s palm was very warm, the exact opposite of Shi Ning’s.
Shi Ning’s hands and feet were always cold, her whole body chilly. Whenever she touched someone, they would say it was nice in the summer, that it could cool them down. But in the winter, it was like touching a block of ice.
But Su Tianxue was different.
Her palm was very warm, a warmth that didn’t burn.
It was like a warm spring breeze gently blowing past Shi Ning’s eyes.
Shi Ning didn’t understand. “Wife, what are you doing?”
Su Tianxue: “If you can’t see it, you won’t be scared.”
Shi Ning was amused. “Wife, it’s not like I’m getting a shot.”
Su Tianxue: “Oh.”
Su Tianxue had done that because she remembered seeing some children at the hospital who were scared of getting shots or having their fingers pricked for blood. Some parents would cover their children’s eyes and tell them that if they couldn’t see it, they wouldn’t be afraid.
She didn’t have much experience comforting people. Even when taking care of Su Wanxing, it was just as an older sister looking out for her in daily life.
A situation like this was extremely rare for her.
Not knowing what to do, she could only apply what she’d seen, imitating others’ actions.
But she ended up being laughed at by Shi Ning.
Su Tianxue silently made a move to lower her hand, but Shi Ning grabbed it, unwilling to let go.
Shi Ning: “This is nice too.”
Su Tianxue: “Didn’t you say it wasn’t a shot?”
Shi Ning: “It’s true, it’s not a shot.”
The woman’s eyes were covered, her long eyelashes brushing against Su Tianxue’s palm like a soft little fan, or a delicate feather.
As they swept across Su Tianxue’s palm, it made her feel a ticklish sensation—very gentle, and very moving.
The spot where Shi Ning gripped her wrist was cool, like two small ice cubes pressed there, exuding a faint chill.
Su Tianxue lowered her gaze. “If it’s not a shot, why won’t you let me go?”
Shi Ning: “Because I like it this way.”
Su Tianxue hadn’t felt particularly awkward until she looked up and met the amused gaze of the medical staff.
As the staff member finished treating the wound, they remarked, “You two get along so well.”
Shi Ning felt like laughing when she heard that.
You two?
What an old-fashioned term.
Had she and Su Tianxue reached that age? When people saw them, they didn’t describe them as a young couple, but as “you two”?
“Alright, alright, that should do it,” the medical staff said.
Hearing this, Su Tianxue pulled her hand back.
Shi Ning saw this and obediently let go, turning to the staff member. “Thank you, Jiejie.”
The staff member was amused by her sweet talk. “It’s nothing. Instead of thanking me, you should thank your wife. Just now, when she was covering your eyes while I treated your wound, I could see she was more nervous than you were.”
Shi Ning: “Really?”
Hearing this, she turned in surprise to look at Su Tianxue’s expression.
Su Tianxue turned her head slightly, avoiding Shi Ning’s gaze.
After the wound was treated, the production team prepared to leave, but before they could get out, Shi Ning called out to them.
Shi Ning: “You’re just leaving like that?”
The director had a bad feeling. She turned around and looked at her. “What is it?”
【A song lyric suddenly popped into my head.】
【What is it now? My dear young lady?】
【Hahahahahaha that’s it, that’s it! Friend, we share a brain!! I thought of that song too, hahaha!!】
【That was the must-have song for every CP back in the day. I’ve never seen a popular CP that didn’t have a fan edit with this song.】
Shi Ning: “Regarding my injury, don’t you have anything to say?”
Director: “…I wish you peace?”
【I’m dying of laughter, I’m dying!】
【Oh~ I wish you peace~ I wish you peace~ May happiness~ surround you】
【Director: Be vigilant!】
【I really didn’t expect this kind of development so late at night.】
【Today’s footage is really enough 2333】
Shi Ning lowered her head, pointed to the wound on her head, and said righteously, “This is a work-related injury. Isn’t the production team going to take responsibility?”
Director: ?
【The director’s face is screaming: Are you kidding me?】
【I’ve never seen someone so righteously try to extort compensation.】
【I’m dying, it was clearly her own failed attempt at being cool! How is she blaming the production team now!】
Shi Ning: “This doesn’t count as a work-related injury?”
The production team was exasperated. “Fine, what do you want?”
Shi Ning smiled. “I’m not asking for much. I just think it’s not right for an injured person like me to have to sleep in a tent on the floor, right? What if I turn over and bump my head again? That wouldn’t be good. Don’t you agree?”
The director saw through Shi Ning’s intentions. “You want to sleep in the same bed as Su Tianxue?”
Shi Ning: “What’s wrong with me sleeping in the same bed as my wife?”
Why did he make it sound like she was some kind of outlaw, lecher, or hooligan?
The production team felt that Shi Ning’s suggestion wasn’t entirely without merit, but if they agreed, the punishment they had prepared would be useless.
Seeing the director fall into thought, likely considering a compromise, Shi Ning couldn’t help but curve her lips, a foxy glint in her eyes. She said to the production team, “How about this? It’s no use asking you guys, you can’t make the call. I’ll ask my wife.”
When Shi Ning turned to speak to Su Tianxue, she deliberately put on a pitiful expression. “Wife, do you think I could sleep with you tonight?”
Su Tianxue replied faintly, “You’ve already called me Wife. What else can I say?”
【Su Jiejie: If I refuse, won’t you just throw another fit?】
【Wow!! Congratulations to Shi Ning for finally getting to sleep in the same bed as her wife!】
【Why do you guys make something that should be a given sound so tragic /facepalm】
Shi Ning snapped her fingers. “Yay! Then it’s settled for tonight.”
Shi Ning: “You guys can go now. It’s getting late, go back and get some rest. You’ve all worked hard today.”
The production team was ushered out of the cabin, watching as the wooden door was shut in their faces.
The director: “I really appreciate you bothering to give me a perfunctory dismissal.”
Shi Ning couldn’t care less what the production team was thinking right now. She was so happy her tail was about to wag its way to the heavens.
She stood in front of the mirror in the room, looked at her wound, and thought that this was a blessing in disguise.
The ancients said, “Fortune lies within misfortune, and misfortune hides within fortune.” They were not wrong.
Overnight, her status had changed from being confined to a tent and sleeping bag to sharing a bed with Su Tianxue.
Woohoo! Woohoo!
Takeoff!
After washing up, Shi Ning quickly slipped into bed. She lifted the covers, lay on her side, and struck a pose like a reclining beauty. With a seductive smile, she looked at Su Tianxue, patting the empty space on the bed beside her. “Wife, please, get… in bed.”
【I feel like Shi Ning is so happy about her upgraded status that she’s become a little unhinged.】
【Shi Ning, do you think you’re filming some drama about a demoness seducing a Buddhist cultivator?】
【I’m dying, I’m dying. This woman really knows how to play.】
【If only they could film more outdoors. I’ve noticed this outdoor room is so small, one camera can capture everything! I love it! More, more!】
Su Tianxue paused patting essence onto her face, glanced at Shi Ning’s pose, and said to her expressionlessly, “Could you possibly be any more dramatic?”
Shi Ning let out a soft laugh, curling her long legs. Her loose nightgown was teased up, revealing her fair thighs.
In this position, she looked up at Su Tianxue and said, “Of course I can. Is this dramatic enough for you now?”
Su Tianxue: “Are you in a good mood?”
Shi Ning: “Of course. I’m sleeping with my wife, so of course I’m happy.”
Shi Ning’s direct answer was something Su Tianxue couldn’t quite understand.
She didn’t get why such a small thing could make Shi Ning so happy. But what she understood even less was that seeing Shi Ning so happy, her own emotions seemed to become more lively and joyful as well.
Su Tianxue said lightly, “As long as you’re happy.”
She walked over and got into bed.
Like a little clinger, Shi Ning moved closer to her and wrapped her arms around her.
Shi Ning hugged Su Tianxue’s waist from behind, her head resting against Su Tianxue’s back, nuzzling her in this position.
This intimate contact made Shi Ning feel content.
To be honest, if anyone else had said what Su Tianxue just said, Shi Ning would have taken it as a perfunctory remark.
But the person who said it was Su Tianxue.
Shi Ning knew that when Su Tianxue said those words, she meant them.
For the current Su Tianxue, some things really were just a matter of “as long as she’s happy.”
This attitude made Shi Ning feel indulged.
She held Su Tianxue, watching her from behind, imagining her expression at that moment.
Su Tianxue didn’t struggle.
After they had been holding each other like this for a while, as their body temperatures slowly rose, Su Tianxue spoke. “It’s late. Time to sleep.”
Shi Ning hummed in agreement.
Su Tianxue reached out to turn off the light.
In the darkness, Shi Ning’s soft question could be heard. She said, “Wife. Where’s my goodnight kiss?”
【…Why did you have to ask that after turning off the lights!!】
【Turn the lights back on!!】
【I want to see the kiss, boohoo! I want to see the goodnight kiss!!】
【I want to give my wife a goodnight kiss too, but sadly I don’t have a wife.】
The screen was completely dark.
In the darkness, Su Tianxue’s reply couldn’t be heard, but there was the rustling sound of the quilt moving, and it seemed someone was turning over, the fabric of their clothes and the quilt rubbing together.
Then, a sound so intimate it could ferment in the dark night emerged.
It was the sound of kissing.
There were hurried, unrestrained breaths, the sound of their lips and tongues tangling after repeated entanglement, and the wet sounds that made one’s heart race and face flush just from hearing them…
All these sounds were incredibly clear in the pitch-black night, gradually merging with the sound of the waves outside, which lapped against the cabin’s foundation and walls, one after another.
【I’m really at a loss for words…】
【Production team, can we crowdfund a night vision camera for you??】
【This pitch blackness, ahhh!! I really want to just scratch my screen to pieces!!】
After such a goodnight kiss, Shi Ning was somewhat aroused, but she knew this wasn’t the right time.
She instinctively bit the back of Su Tianxue’s neck.
Su Tianxue froze for a moment, then pushed Shi Ning away. “Biting me is useless. I’m not an Omega.”
Shi Ning: “Hm?”
Su Tianxue: “Alphas can’t mark their own kind.”
Shi Ning said with a smile, “I didn’t mean it like that.”
She moved closer and gently licked the spot she had just bitten.
It made Su Tianxue’s scalp tingle.
Shi Ning: “But, if I could mark you, would you be willing to be… by me?”
In the ABO world, marking meant one person completely belonged to another, controlled by their genes on a physiological level, becoming the other’s possession, their desires for the rest of their life tied to that person.
Shi Ning felt that even without this mark, she was confident that Su Tianxue’s desires were already tied to her.
But people are people; they always have more possessiveness and expectations.
She couldn’t help but ask the question.
Without a second thought, Su Tianxue answered decisively, “I wouldn’t.”
Shi Ning feigned crying. “Fine, you don’t love me. I’m heartbroken.”
Su Tianxue: “…I don’t want to belong to anyone.”
Su Tianxue: “Why can’t you be the one to become an Omega?”
Shi Ning: “Huh?”
Su Tianxue retorted, “Would you be willing to be marked by me?”
Shi Ning: “…”
Well, she wasn’t too keen on that either.
Seeing Shi Ning fall into a brief silence, Su Tianxue said coolly, “Fine, you don’t love me. I’m heartbroken.”
Shi Ning didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “You can’t do that. You’re plagiarizing my lines.”
Su Tianxue: “You don’t have a copyright.”
Shi Ning was genuinely amused.
She moved closer, the tip of her nose brushing against the back of Su Tianxue’s neck. “I can’t bear to see you heartbroken. So, if that day ever comes, then Su Tianxue, you can mark me.”
Shi Ning’s hand slowly slid up the curve of the woman’s reclining body, then touched her jaw. Holding her jaw, she lifted her own body slightly, then lowered her head and kissed her.
The kiss came too suddenly.
Like a storm in the dark night, it was unexpected, impossible to fend off.
It was too fierce, too abrupt.
And it was too capable of stirring Su Tianxue’s desires.
In the darkness, the woman’s panting drifted over.
After a long while, Shi Ning’s voice was heard.
“You can mark me, but Su Tianxue, even if I were an Omega, some things are destined…”
She didn’t finish her sentence, only kissing the tip of Su Tianxue’s nose again before saying with satisfaction, “Good night.”
A small sense of victory with wings circled in Shi Ning’s chest.
Shi Ning turned over, preparing to get a good night’s sleep.
She figured the production team must have had ill intentions dragging them to this place. Who knew how they were going to torment them tomorrow.
Sleeping early to conserve some energy for tomorrow would be a better choice.
But just as she turned over, before she had fully completed the motion, Su Tianxue, who had been held by her from behind, also turned to face her.
Under the covers, their bodies were face to face.
The moonlight over the sea suddenly brightened. The dark clouds that had been obscuring the moon had scattered, either blown away by the sea breeze or melted by the rapidly rising heat of the air as their eyes met.
In any case, even in the unlit room, with the help of the moonlight, Shi Ning could still see Su Tianxue’s face clearly and in detail.
The bed was by the window. Shi Ning had her back to the window, and when Su Tianxue turned over, she was facing the moonlight from outside. The moonlight seemed to have a spirit of its own, falling on Su Tianxue’s fair skin, making it glow with a faint, crystalline light.
The light wasn’t too dazzling; everything was just right.
And in this indistinct light, Su Tianxue’s eyes seemed as pure as ever.
Under this gaze, Shi Ning was momentarily stunned.
She always found herself mesmerized by Su Tianxue’s gaze.
Shi Ning blinked. “What’s wrong?”
In that instant, her voice became much softer, like a small stone being placed gently into the water, afraid that the splash it made would startle the fairy sleeping drunkenly on the bank.
Su Tianxue didn’t speak, nor did she answer.
But her actions were enough to shock Shi Ning.
Under the soft quilt, completely hidden from the audience’s view.
Su Tianxue’s legs, usually so proper, now slowly lifted, sliding up Shi Ning’s calf. Whether intentionally or not, they caught the hem of her nightgown, pulling it up… Then, Su Tianxue lifted her leg and rested it on Shi Ning’s waist.
The distance between them was extremely close, so this action was tantamount to pressing the most intimate parts of their bodies together.
Shi Ning froze.
In the dark of night, all of one’s senses were magnified.
The moonlight outside was better than nothing, but it couldn’t illuminate the room completely. Instead, it added a layer of heart-pounding intimacy to the dim atmosphere.
Shi Ning could hear the soft rustle of the quilt as their bodies touched and moved.
She could also smell Su Tianxue’s pheromones amidst the strong sea breeze.
She could even feel the warmth of the smooth, delicate leg that had suddenly been placed on hers, and where Su Tianxue’s body was pressed tightly against hers, a subtle, almost imperceptible dampness.
Shi Ning suddenly didn’t dare to breathe.
She felt that this version of Su Tianxue was a bit unexpected.
It didn’t seem real, more like something from a dream.
Shi Ning whispered her name, “Su Tianxue…?”
Su Tianxue didn’t speak.
This woman, with her prim and proper expression like a celestial being, was doing things with her hands that made Shi Ning’s heart race so fast it felt like it was about to fly out of her chest.
Su Tianxue actually reached her hand inside Shi Ning’s clothes.
Shi Ning stopped breathing at once.
She couldn’t figure out how things had turned out this way.
When Shi Ning looked up at Su Tianxue again, she found that her expression was as proper as ever, seemingly unruffled, but her eyes, which were like stars that outshone the bright moon, were clearly spelling out the word “deliberate.”
Seeing this, Shi Ning understood at once.
She said helplessly, “Wife, let me go, okay?”
Su Tianxue was doing it on purpose. Hearing Shi Ning’s plea, she raised a delicate eyebrow slightly. She didn’t answer, but her actions became even more audacious.
She was like a cold monarch, plucking his rose. Her movements were extremely intimate, yet the expression on her face was exceedingly cold, as if she had never felt a shred of genuine emotion for the rose in her hand.
Watching Shi Ning’s restrained endurance, Su Tianxue continued her actions.
Shi Ning was about to be driven mad by the woman’s teasing.
Although Su Tianxue was only slowly and methodically tracing random lines on her body and not doing anything else, she… she was just itching with desire. It felt like there was a wild beast inside her, on the verge of losing control, about to burst out of its cage and run to wilder places.
And it was at this very moment.
Su Tianxue suddenly withdrew her hand, turned over, and pulled away.
With the other party stopping so abruptly, Shi Ning couldn’t very well cling to her.
She called out pitifully, “Wife.”
Su Tianxue’s soft voice carried through the dark night. “I’m here.”
Shi Ning: “Why are you doing this?”
Su Tianxue: “To teach you a little lesson.”
Shi Ning: “QAQ”
Shi Ning reached out, wanting to wrap her arms around Su Tianxue’s waist, but Su Tianxue’s hand, under the covers, lightly slapped the back of her hand.
It was just like a parent scolding a child for sneaking candy.
Su Tianxue: “Next time, if it’s a kiss, just kiss. Don’t get handsy.”
Shi Ning didn’t even know how to protest her innocence.
What was she supposed to do? When she was kissing passionately, she couldn’t help but want to entwine herself with the woman before her, to have closer contact!
She sighed mournfully, “Wife, you’re so cruel!”
Su Tianxue: “This is merely giving you a taste of your own medicine.”
Seeing Su Tianxue’s perfectly calm demeanor, Shi Ning didn’t dare to try to hug her from behind and do anything else.
She could only turn over resentfully, wrap herself tightly in her own little blanket, and stare at the moon hanging over the sea outside, beginning to chant a mantra to clear her mind.
“Namo Amitabha…”
Well, that was all she knew.
She didn’t know any mantras at all. With no other choice, she began to resentfully recite laws.
“Article 31, if a construction unit fails to submit an environmental impact report or form for a construction project for approval in accordance with the law…”
Su Tianxue, sleeping on the other side of her, heard her movements and curved her eyes imperceptibly, while also calming her own breathing.
How strange.
Su Tianxue soon fell asleep to the sound of Shi Ning reciting laws.
After a long time, Shi Ning finally calmed down.
It was only then that she realized something wasn’t right.
She had thought Su Tianxue had done that because she was angry and unhappy.
But Su Tianxue said she did it to give her a taste of her own medicine. What did that mean?
A spark flashed in Shi Ning’s mind.
She couldn’t help but wonder, could it be that the goodnight kiss had been a bit much for Su Tianxue too, which was why she used this method to warn her?
Once this thought appeared, Shi Ning couldn’t help but feel a little happy. She thought this was proof that between her and Su Tianxue, she wasn’t the only one being pulled by their uncontrollable attraction.
At this thought, Shi Ning felt much more at ease.
She had a good night’s sleep. To be precise, she had a beautiful dream.
In her dream, she and Su Tianxue had gone to the place with the most brilliant stars and had picked roses in the world’s most beautiful snowfield.
When she woke up, Shi Ning saw Su Tianxue, already dressed and standing by the bed, and thought of how she had looked in her dream last night.
Sigh.
She couldn’t think about it.
The moment she did, her whole body started to itch with desire.
Shi Ning felt it was necessary to have this stupid variety show take a temporary break and let them go back to rest for a few days, to give her and Su Tianxue a chance to be alone without worrying about the cameras.
If she kept bottling it up like this, she was afraid her gland would explode.
Seeing Shi Ning get up, Su Tianxue called for her to go with her to gather at the island pier arranged by the production team.
When the two of them arrived, the other two groups of guests were already there.
As soon as they met, Su Wanxing couldn’t wait to ask, “How was it, Shi Ning Jie? Did you sleep well last night?”
Anyone could see the gloating expression on her face.
Shi Ning smiled. “I slept very well, thanks to your sister.”
Su Wanxing looked at her sister, not understanding.
Su Tianxue gently averted her gaze, looking at a small flower by the roadside. The flower swayed slightly in the morning sea breeze.
Su Wanxing didn’t get it. “What happened? Weren’t you supposed to sleep in a tent? How is my sister involved again?”
Shi Ning hummed twice, extremely pleased with herself. “That’s because your sister couldn’t bear to see me suffer, so she let me sleep with her.”
At first, Su Wanxing didn’t believe it, but after glancing at her sister’s expression, she had an epiphany.
She hurried to her sister’s side and patted her on the shoulder. “Jie, you’ve worked hard.”
It must be tiring, pretending to be a couple with someone like that, right?
Su Tianxue didn’t understand why she could read pity in her younger sister’s eyes.
Su Tianxue: “It was fine.”
It wasn’t that hard.
Su Wanxing wanted to say something more to provoke Shi Ning, but Zhu Yu grabbed her by the collar and pulled her back.
Zhu Yu: “Alright, time for breakfast.”
Shi Ning huffed as she looked at Su Wanxing.
Xin Ya sighed quietly from behind them. “They’re like two little kids. So childish.”
Zhou Lu watched her sneakily grabbing the breakfast that was supposed to be won through a competition while gossiping about others and commented, “You’re not much better.”
Xin Ya’s face lit up with a smile. “I’m different from them. Even if I’m a child, I’ll only ever be your child.”
Zhou Lu: “…”
Xin Ya continued her performance: “I’m not like Wukong either. He can do seventy-two transformations, but I only know two: transforming to love you more, and my love for you never transforming.”
Zhou Lu: “Can I apply to skip breakfast today? I’m finding it a bit hard to stomach all this love.”
Xin Ya stomped her foot. “Hey! Don’t you think my lines are brilliant?!”
【Brilliant… meow… meow with me, meow meow meow??】
【Confirmed, insanity can be transmitted through the bullet comments.】
【Can we not, this early in the morning?】
【A morning without cheesy pick-up lines is an incomplete morning!】
【Thanks, Xin Jiejie, you’ve greased me awake.】
【That takes skill. It’s hard to do without ten pounds of grease in your chest.】
After finishing a small game and eating breakfast, they drew cards to find out what activities they would be experiencing on the island today.
Zhou Lu and Xin Ya were to pick vegetables, Su Wanxing and Zhu Yu were to pick coconuts, and Shi Ning and Su Tianxue had to go out to sea to fish.
Each of the three groups would receive a hotel check-in voucher upon completing their task.
This voucher would allow everyone to stay at the top-tier sea-view hotel on the other side of the island.
The director took out an iPad and played the hotel’s promotional video for everyone.
The design was extremely artistic, with rooms facing the sea, transparent glass, and beautiful ocean views.
Everyone exclaimed in amazement, “Wow!”
【Listen to the chorus of wows~~】
【This room must be super expensive, right??】
【The production team is really spending big this time.】
In order to successfully secure a spot at the high-end hotel for the night, and also for the sake of the show, everyone set off with great enthusiasm to their respective task locations.
Before boarding the boat, Shi Ning was full of spirit, exuding the aura of a queen about to conquer the ocean.
Who knew that as soon as she got on the boat, her face turned as white as a sheet, and she sat next to Su Tianxue, unable to say a word.
And Su Tianxue? She was calm and composed, completely unaffected by the rocking of the waves. She could even turn her head from time to time to chat with the old fisherman behind her, effortlessly naming different types of fish.
Shi Ning felt she really couldn’t take it anymore. She clung to the side of the boat, feeling like she was about to throw up.
This boat was different from the ferries she had been on before.
The small boat rocked much more violently.
Just as Shi Ning thought she was going to meet her end here, she saw Su Tianxue glance at her, then suggest to the old master that perhaps she could try steering the boat.
The old fisherman agreed, asking in surprise, “Little lady, you know how to steer a boat?”
Su Tianxue shook her head. “I haven’t, but I’d like to try.”
A few words popped into Shi Ning’s head: Try it and die.
She gripped the edge of the boat and turned to Su Tianxue. “Wife, don’t go too fast, don’t make it too shaky, and please don’t steer us straight into a reef.”
Su Tianxue: “Don’t worry.”
Su Tianxue switched places with the old fisherman. Under his guidance, she quickly learned how to steer the boat.
Shi Ning noticed that after Su Tianxue took control of the boat, it didn’t seem to rock as much as before.
Their progress through the sea became much smoother.
Because of this, Shi Ning’s dizziness finally subsided quite a bit and wasn’t as intense as before.
She felt much more comfortable.
Seeing Shi Ning’s complexion improve and that she was starting to look around and enjoy the scenery, Su Tianxue held the small rudder, her expression clear. She stopped monitoring Shi Ning’s condition, relaxed, and looked into the distance.
Fishing by the sea had its own routine. They sailed to a spot far from the shore, then cast the net. The rest of the time was for waiting.
After the net was cast, Su Tianxue handed control back to the master and sat down next to Shi Ning again.
Su Tianxue: “Weren’t you the one who doesn’t get seasick?”
Before getting on the boat, she had talked as if she were the next Pirate King.
Shi Ning’s voice was numb. “I don’t get seasick on ferries, but I didn’t expect the difference between a ferry and this kind of small boat to be so huge.”
After saying this, Shi Ning secretly glanced at Su Tianxue’s expression. Taking advantage of the lingering weakness from her discomfort, she said to Su Tianxue, “Wife, my head is still so dizzy.”
Su Tianxue: “Is that so?”
Shi Ning nodded like a pecking chicken. “Mm-hm!”
“I want a hug!” She held out her arms.
Su Tianxue: “Actually, I know another way that can help you solve your problem more easily.”
Shi Ning: “Kiss me?”
Su Tianxue: “Desensitization.”
Su Tianxue: “Once you get used to more intense shaking, you’ll get used to this ordinary level of shaking too.”
As soon as Su Tianxue finished speaking, she was about to get up and steer the boat again.
Shi Ning quickly refused. “No, no, no, that’s not necessary.”
She admitted, “Okay, actually, I don’t feel that dizzy anymore. I’m much better now.”
Su Tianxue knew it.
After spending so much time with Shi Ning, she had seen through most of her tricks.
This person was an expert at taking advantage of a situation and playing pitiful.
Of course, she couldn’t be indulged. If she was, she’d be like the monkey in Taishang Laojun’s alchemy furnace, ready to wreak havoc.
As she was thinking this, Su Tianxue heard Shi Ning say, “Wife, I said that just now because I really want to hug you right now.”
She had abandoned all her tricks and schemes, choosing to state her thoughts directly.
Su Tianxue looked at Shi Ning and found that when faced with this version of her, she couldn’t seem to expose her tricks as she had just a moment ago.
Shi Ning saw Su Tianxue staring at her and thought, well, there probably wasn’t much hope for getting a hug.
Sure enough, she heard Su Tianxue say, “Do you know how old you are?”
Shi Ning adapted the line Xin Ya had used earlier that day. “No matter how old I am this year, I still want to be your little kid.”
Great.
She almost gagged after saying it herself.
【Help me!!!】
【There it is, the human-to-human transmission of cheesy pick-up lines!!】
【Is everyone going to turn into Xin Ya by the end of this romance show??】
Hearing Shi Ning’s words, Su Tianxue was helpless.
Su Tianxue: “Can you be normal?”
Shi Ning: “Then can you hug me?”
Su Tianxue reached out, put an arm around Shi Ning’s shoulders, and gently pulled her in. Shi Ning was now practically lying sideways in Su Tianxue’s arms.
Su Tianxue: “Does this count?”
Shi Ning let out a soft cough, the smile that bloomed on her cheeks so radiant she could barely contain it.
Shi Ning: “It counts.”
She looked at Su Tianxue, who was gazing into the distance.
The sun over the sea stood before them, its light making the surface of the water glitter as if countless tiny diamonds had been scattered upon it. The water looked exceptionally brilliant and magnificent.
This was the first time Shi Ning had ever lain in another woman’s arms like this. Usually, she was the one holding other girls in this position.
Now, being held by Su Tianxue like this, she found that it wasn’t bad at all.
The position wasn’t as awkward as she had thought.
Shi Ning wrapped her arms around Su Tianxue’s waist, shifted her body down a little, and snuggled closer into Su Tianxue’s embrace.
Su Tianxue: “Are you trying to stuff your entire person in front of me?”
Shi Ning said smugly, “Can’t I?”
Before Su Tianxue could answer, she said, “You were the one who hugged me first, so this is what I want.”
Today, she was really going to be a boneless little kid!
Shi Ning was brazenly confident, almost completely enveloping herself in Su Tianxue’s embrace.
Wrapped in Su Tianxue’s scent, the uncomfortable feeling of seasickness also dissipated somewhat.
Shi Ning was in a good mood and hummed a little song.
When the wind blew, Su Tianxue for a moment couldn’t tell if the faint scent of the sea breeze in the air was the actual smell of the ocean or the scent of Shi Ning’s pheromones.
She could only tell that when the woman leaned so tightly against her, her hair would occasionally brush against her neck, causing a slight tickle.
Holding Shi Ning like this also seemed to bring a feeling that Su Tianxue herself couldn’t quite describe.
Perhaps it was fulfillment, perhaps it was satisfaction.
Shi Ning’s question came on the wind. “Su Tianxue, I said I wanted a hug, and you hugged me. What if I said I want a kiss right now?”
Shi Ning asked with a smile.
She was testing Su Tianxue’s defenses and bottom line, step by step.
Shi Ning: “If I said that, would you kiss me?”
One looked up, the other looked down.
Su Tianxue fell into the ocean in Shi Ning’s eyes. “Why not?”
She thought, anyway, she and Shi Ning were pretending to be a married couple.
They had already kissed so many times, what was one more?
She lowered her head, and her kiss landed on the top of Shi Ning’s head.
Just as Shi Ning was about to say something, the sound of rushing water suddenly came from the side of the boat. The old fisherman behind them quickly called out, “There are fish! There are fish! Pull in the net!”
Su Tianxue got up at once and hurried to help pull in the net.
Shi Ning watched her back, then smiled and followed.
Some things, she wasn’t in a hurry for, and she was confident.
Taking it slow like this was also very nice.
While Shi Ning and Su Tianxue were enjoying the pleasure of pulling in the net on the open sea, the other two groups were now caught in a mix of hardship and joy.
Xin Ya and Zhou Lu were responsible for picking vegetables in the vegetable garden.
The owner of the garden gave them a card filled with the names of various vegetables.
Xin Ya glanced at it and said proudly, “I know all of these vegetables.”
The garden owner was pleased. “Really?”
Xin Ya: “Yeah, I’ve seen them all on the dinner table.”
The garden owner laughed heartily. “Then you can go into the field later and see if they look like they do on the dinner table.”
Xin Ya didn’t think much of it, until she actually walked into the vegetable garden and found that as far as the eye could see, it was all green…
The garden owner: “Now, do you know what all these vegetables are?”
Xin Ya: “Mm.”
Xin Ya: “They’re all green vegetables.”
【Hahahahahaha!】
【What the hell, they’re all green vegetables!】
【It’s okay to just say you don’t know!】
Xin Ya was starting to panic a little.
The thought of failing the task and not being able to stay at the island’s most luxurious hotel tonight made her a bit anxious.
She quietly looked at Zhou Lu and whispered, “Lu Lu, do you think we still have a chance to win if we sneak off to ask a villager for a phone, use it to Baidu image search what these plants are?”
As a modern-day internet expert, someone who made money online, Xin Ya knew very well how to use the advantages of the internet.
She felt that if she just had a phone right now, she could identify every single green vegetable in the world!!
However… the problem was that the production team had taken her phone, leaving her with no way to display her wisdom and cunning.
Zhou Lu glanced at Xin Ya coolly. “You can try.”
Xin Ya looked at her unhurried demeanor and asked, “Don’t you want to experience that legendary room that costs a hundred thousand a night, where you can see the deep sea from the hotel?”
Zhou Lu: “I do.”
Xin Ya: “Then why aren’t you worried at all?”
Zhou Lu: “Why should I be worried?”
Xin Ya pressed her philtrum, feeling the anger rush to her head.
She restrained her temper. “Neither of us knows what these vegetables are.”
Zhou Lu looked at her suspiciously. “You don’t know. I never said I don’t.”
Xin Ya: “Huh??”
Xin Ya had thought Zhou Lu was bluffing, but it turned out that Zhou Lu really did find all the vegetables they needed within ten minutes.
During those ten minutes, Xin Ya just squatted on the edge of the field, cupping her face, watching Zhou Lu move between the rows of vegetables, searching and identifying.
The card that had been blank ten minutes ago, without a single correct answer, was now filled with checkmarks, indicating that they had successfully completed the task.
The two of them received a hotel check-in card!
Holding the card, Zhou Lu said to Xin Ya, who was squatting on the ground looking at her, “Alright, let’s go.”
Xin Ya sighed like a lovestruck fool. “Lu Lu, I just realized you’re so cool.”
Zhou Lu: “Did you get heatstroke?”
Xin Ya huffed. “It’s not heat I’ve been struck by, but Cupid’s arrow of love for us.”
Zhou Lu: “Mm, that’s more normal.”
Xin Ya was curious. “How do you know everything?”
Zhou Lu: “Anyone who’s lived in the countryside would know.”
Zhou Lu didn’t want to elaborate on the matter and changed the subject. “Why aren’t you getting up?”
Xin Ya: “Baby, pull me up.”
Zhou Lu took a step back warily. “What trick are you planning now?”
Xin Ya was helpless. “No tricks. My legs have really just fallen asleep. Please pull me up.”
Seeing this, Zhou Lu stepped forward and extended a hand to Xin Ya.
Xin Ya exclaimed, “Lu Lu, your hands are so tiny.”
Zhou Lu: “…Do you believe I’ll kick you down?”
Xin Ya obediently shut up.
After they clasped hands, Zhou Lu pulled back with a sudden force.
【Say what you will, this scene looks like a mentally challenged child trying to pull up a giant carrot.】
【I’m laughing so hard my crow’s feet are about to explode.】
Xin Ya said coolly, “Zhou Lu, you’re not strong enough.”
“You can’t even pull me up.”
Zhou Lu: “You’re an ox. I can’t pull you.”
She gave up pulling, but just as she released her grip, Xin Ya happened to move forward on her own. Both of them lost their balance, and with a thud, they fell backward into the vegetable garden.
They looked extremely pathetic.
Zhou Lu was in despair.
Zhou Lu: “Xin Ya, get up.”
Xin Ya: “Let me lie here for a bit first. My legs are really numb.”
But in her heart, Xin Ya was thinking, Boohoo, the feeling of pressing on my dear Lu Lu is just as I imagined.
So soft, so soft.
Zhou Lu lowered her gaze. “Xin Ya, I think there’s a caterpillar on your back.”
As soon as she said that, Zhou Lu could feel the woman who was contentedly pressing down on her suddenly stiffen, and then her whole body shot up like a spring.
Xin Ya leaped three feet into the air, jumped back twice, stood far away, and started patting her own back, screaming as she did, “Where’s the caterpillar! Where is it!”
Zhou Lu silently got up, dusted herself off, and picked up the expensive hotel access card that had fallen on the ground.
She walked past Xin Ya. “I think I saw wrong.”
Xin Ya suddenly realized and screamed as she chased after Zhou Lu, “Were you just tricking me!!”
Zhou Lu hadn’t expected Xin Ya’s IQ to be high enough to figure it out so quickly.
She immediately broke into a run.
Don’t be fooled by Zhou Lu’s short stature and somewhat short legs; her running speed was no joke.
The way she ran forward was like an agile little rabbit.
She dashed forward with a whoosh.
As Zhou Lu was running, she suddenly heard a cry of surprise from behind her. She quickly turned her head and stopped, a worried look on her face, thinking Xin Ya had fallen again.
Who knew that in the few seconds she paused, Xin Ya pounced from behind and hugged her.
Zhou Lu had to use all her strength to brace herself so that she wouldn’t fall to the ground with Xin Ya again.
Xin Ya: “Lu Lu, why are you running? It’s not like I’m going to eat you.”
Zhou Lu: “I’m afraid the garden owner will ask me for compensation.”
Xin Ya: “…”
Xin Ya: “The production team should cover it, right?”
Production Team: ???
Meanwhile, Su Wanxing and Zhu Yu were in the coconut grove, engaged in the activity of picking coconuts.
They had both thought this would be the easiest task, but after arriving, they discovered that picking coconuts was not as simple as they had imagined.
Picking coconuts actually required one to attach special tools to their feet, then climb up the tall, nearly ten-meter-high coconut trees, as tall as a building, to the very top, and then use a sickle to cut the coconuts down.
Staff member: “One of you can go up, who will it be?”
Without a second thought, Su Wanxing said, “Me.”
The staff member was an older man. He looked at Su Wanxing, then at Zhu Yu, and said with a smile, “I say, you’re an Alpha. You’re just going to let a little Omega girl like her climb up? That’s not right, is it?”
Su Wanxing was a little unhappy hearing this, but she held it in and silently put on her gear.
Zhu Yu said with a smile, “This is her own choice, and I choose to respect it.”
“Picking coconuts isn’t like giving birth. What does being an O or an A have to do with it?”
Zhu Yu then said to Su Wanxing, “Be careful. Try it first. If you can’t do it, I’ll go up.”
Su Wanxing adjusted the safety buckle on her waist and turned to Zhu Yu. “It’s fine, leave it to me. Aren’t you afraid of heights?”
Zhu Yu was stunned for a moment when she heard this. “How did you know I’m afraid of heights?”
Zhu Yu had never openly stated that she was afraid of heights on any show or on any occasion.
The only people who knew about this were probably her old fans who had been following her since her idol trainee days.
Back then, Zhu Yu was even afraid of the stage lifts.
But later, for the sake of her work, she did wire work and even went bungee jumping on variety shows, never showing any fear or letting her personal issues affect her work.
Su Wanxing knew that the reason Zhu Yu did this was because she probably still believed that their group’s failure on the competition stage back then was because she had made a mistake on the stage lift.
…
Oh no.
Su Wanxing thought, It’s over.
Is my cover as a fan about to be blown??
She gave an awkward laugh. “I guessed.”
Su Wanxing: “Um, I’m going to start climbing now.”
Zhu Yu: “Be careful.”
Su Wanxing hummed in agreement and scrambled up the tree as if someone were chasing her.
Zhu Yu stood under the tree, watching Su Wanxing’s figure ascend.
Just like how, once upon a time, Su Wanxing had looked up at her from below the stage.
After picking six coconuts, the two of them finished the challenge. Under the guidance of the staff, they successfully turned the coconuts into coconut water and happened to be able to share it with the other guests when they gathered.
Six coconuts, exactly one for each person.
The freshly picked coconuts had sweet and delicious juice.
Everyone held their coconuts, sipping them mouthful by mouthful.
The director held up a megaphone. “Everyone did a great job on their tasks today! Now you can come with us to the hotel!!”
“The hotel for today’s reward is located on the other side of the island. We’ll take a sightseeing buggy over in a bit!”
If the side of the island where Shi Ning and the others were now offered a more primitive and rustic island scenery, then the other side of the island was home to more modern and artistic architecture.
Today, the hotel they were staying at was the best of the best.
From the outside, it had a very classical style, different from ordinary hotels, exuding a unique and elegant aesthetic.
As soon as Xin Ya arrived at the hotel entrance, she immediately pestered the production team for her phone and had Zhou Lu take pictures of her.
Xin Ya: “A few more, a few more.”
Zhou Lu: “Okay.”
Xin Ya expertly started striking poses. After a while, Zhou Lu calmly handed the phone to Xin Ya.
Xin Ya was about to admire her beautiful photos, but when she saw the content on the screen, she was about to go crazy. She screamed, “Zhou! Lu!”
Zhou Lu: “Huh?”
Xin Ya: “Where’s my face in your pictures!! Where’s my face!!”
In all the photos Zhou Lu had taken, there was only Xin Ya’s handbag and the hotel behind her.
Zhou Lu: “…I thought you wanted to show off this bag.”
Xin Ya: “Ahem, well, that was part of it.”
Xin Ya: “But don’t you think my face is also a treasure of humanity??”
Zhou Lu shook her head.
Xin Ya howled at the sky, “Oh, heavens!!”
【The daily life of a disastrous couple.】
【Is this how female comedians date?】
【Xin Ya, Xin Ya, hurry up and post the pictures so we can have a laugh too.】
Su Wanxing couldn’t stand to watch anymore and offered to help Xin Ya take pictures.
Zhu Yu watched from the side, occasionally helping to hold some props.
Shi Ning and Su Tianxue quietly watched all of this.
【It feels like the adults don’t fit into the children’s world.】
【Those four are so noisy!!】
The director waited for them to finish taking pictures, then raised her megaphone and continued, “Actually, besides preparing this surprise for everyone today, we’ve also invited a mysterious guest.”
Xin Ya: “Who is it?”
Director: “We’ve specially invited the main designer and person in charge of this hotel, Miss Monica!”
The moment Xin Ya heard this name, her DNA stirred.
Xin Ya: “Thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, Monica?”
Director: “…”
Xin Ya: “Welcome, welcome!! A warm welcome!!”
Amidst her wild applause, a woman slowly walked over from a distance.
She was wearing a beige dress, and as she got closer, the smile on her face was even more dazzling.
Xin Ya sighed, “A beauty, a beauty.”
Zhou Lu: “…”
Sometimes she really thought her boss was a lunatic.
Shi Ning looked at this woman and felt that she looked a bit familiar, but she couldn’t quite place where.
On the other hand, the moment Su Wanxing saw the woman, her eyes widened like saucers.
Oh my god!!
What is she doing here??
Su Wanxing was utterly shocked.
The woman walked over in her high heels to face the crowd, smiled slightly, and introduced herself generously and confidently, “Hello everyone, I’m Monica.”
“My Chinese name is Mo Lingyuan. You can call me Lingyuan.”
Shi Ning felt that after the woman said her name, her gaze remained fixed on her. She couldn’t understand why the other person kept looking at her, so she also looked up at her.
Hm.
How strange.
She looked again.
Shi Ning found it hard to describe the emotion that suddenly welled up inside her. She frowned.
Su Tianxue noticed her frequent glances toward the woman, lowered her eyes, and said nothing.
Yuan Yuyue, who was watching the show, almost spat out her drink when she saw this scene.
