PANT - Chapter 64
Chapter 64
The room’s quiet, elegant decor only added to the coldness of the silence that had fallen over it.
Su Tianxue pointed a finger at the box, her eyes filled with a blatant question.
Shi Ning followed Su Tianxue’s gesture, heard her question, saw the look in her eyes, and then let her gaze travel down to the box.
Ah.
This was bad, Shi Ning thought.
She debated internally for a long time, unsure whether to tell Su Tianxue what was inside.
Wanting to give your wife a surprise and hiding things from her were two completely different things, right?!
Although she could think of ten thousand ways to argue her case, Shi Ning hesitated under Su Tianxue’s gaze. She even began to think that perhaps, just perhaps, Su Tianxue already knew about this.
After all, the staff at the bridal shop hadn’t only added her on WeChat.
When they left the shop, that attendant had even given Su Tianxue candy but not her!
...
Shi Ning had every reason to suspect that Su Tianxue might have already found out about this through other means.
Rather than being secretive, it was better to just tell the truth now.
Shi Ning stood up, walked over to the box, lifted it, and carried it into the living room.
Seeing Shi Ning’s expression of heroic sacrifice, Su Tianxue was exasperated. “What are you doing?”
She had only asked what was in the box. Did Shi Ning have to be so dramatic?
She looked like she was about to be sent to the guillotine.
Shi Ning replied, devoid of all life, “Nothing. I just feel a little heartbroken.”
Su Tianxue: “...Hm?”
The stranger she acted, the more curious Su Tianxue became about the box’s contents.
She held out her hand to Shi Ning. “Scissors.”
Shi Ning sighed softly and resignedly went to find scissors for her wife. When she handed them to Su Tianxue, she held onto the handle, refusing to let go.
Su Tianxue looked up at her.
Under that gaze, Shi Ning was defeated.
She obediently let go, allowing Su Tianxue to take the scissors.
Just as Su Tianxue was about to go at it, plunging the scissors straight into the box and opening the package with brute force, Shi Ning’s heart leaped in alarm. She quickly stopped her. “No, Wife!”
Su Tianxue’s hand paused.
Shi Ning explained, “Be gentle.”
Although Su Tianxue didn’t understand why Shi Ning would make such a request, she did as she was told. Her movements to open the package became slower and lighter.
Rip.
That was the sound of the scissors smoothly piercing the packing tape and splitting it in two.
Flap.
That was the sound of Su Tianxue pulling open the cardboard flaps.
Inside the brown box were two gift boxes, one black and one white.
Su Tianxue looked at Shi Ning, confused. “What did you buy?”
At that moment, Shi Ning realized that Su Tianxue might genuinely not know what was in the package.
The last glimmer of hope in her heart flared to life again.
Haha!
Heaven never seals off all exits!
This was fate preserving the surprise for her proposal!
She rushed forward and threw herself over the cardboard box like a bear, using her own body to completely shield its contents from view.
Watching this, Su Tianxue almost thought she was watching some kind of absurd, melodramatic anti-Japanese war drama from the last century.
You know, the kind where they use their bodies to block bullets.
Su Tianxue said helplessly, “Shi Ning, what are you doing?”
Shi Ning hugged the box and refused to let go. “Wife, it’s nothing, just a couple of things I bought. Why don’t we not look? There’s nothing to see.”
People were just contrary by nature.
Even a celestial beauty like Su Tianxue, who seemed so aloof and otherworldly, had a bit of that contrarian streak deep down.
The more you were told not to look, the more you wanted to see.
Su Tianxue put down the scissors, reached out, and pinched Shi Ning’s cheek, squeezing the flesh until it was round and chubby, which was a little cute. Su Tianxue couldn’t resist giving it a few more pinches before finally saying to Shi Ning in a near-threatening tone, “Move.”
Shi Ning’s mouth was being squeezed into a fish-like pout.
She shook her head. “No.”
This was her once-in-a-lifetime proposal!
How many chances would she get to propose to someone in this life?!
She couldn’t let her surprise turn into a farce!
Sensing Shi Ning’s determination, Su Tianxue decided to play along.
Dealing with Shi Ning wasn’t like dealing with Shen Qingtang, where she could just kick the person away. That wasn’t scientific, nor was it realistic, and Su Tianxue couldn’t bear to do it.
Her mind was quick, and with a turn of thought, a new idea emerged.
Su Tianxue smiled gently. “You won’t move?”
That gentleness didn’t make Shi Ning feel the warmth of spring at all. It only made the hairs on the back of her neck stand up, as if some great crisis was about to unfold.
Shi Ning chose to stick to her guns.
In this moment!
She stood her ground in front of her wife!
Shi Ning hugged the box with great resolve and declared loudly, “I won’t!”
So what if she was her wife!
It wasn’t like she listened to everything her wife said, okay!
Su Tianxue’s smile grew even gentler.
Although she knew that more danger lurked behind that smile, although she knew it held little goodwill, the moment Su Tianxue smiled, Shi Ning was still momentarily dazzled.
She was captivated.
This beautiful wife was hers.
In that dazed instant, Su Tianxue’s hand slid across Shi Ning’s lower abdomen.
It was soft and a little warm.
If Shi Ning’s touch on Su Tianxue was like a small snake awakening from hibernation,
then when Su Tianxue touched Shi Ning, her fingers were more like a small, living trickle of hot spring water.
That water spread across Shi Ning’s skin.
Shi Ning still had a sliver of rationality left. She knew Su Tianxue was using her charms on her!
She could resist!
But—
By the time she unconsciously started to get up, wanting to kiss Su Tianxue back, it was already too late.
The moment she rose, Su Tianxue pushed her aside and went to look in the box.
Dazed and captivated, then suddenly pushed away, Shi Ning staggered a couple of steps before steadying herself. Seeing what Su Tianxue was doing, she shook her head helplessly.
Her wife had learned some bad tricks.
She stretched lazily, rubbed her cheeks, and went over.
Su Tianxue had just opened the white box.
Inside was a perfectly stored wedding gown. The white tulle skirt was hidden inside a transparent dust bag, and the star embroidery adorning it shimmered with a golden light.
For a rare moment, Su Tianxue was stunned. “This is...?”
Shi Ning came closer. “Didn’t we design wedding dresses for each other on the island? This is the one I designed for you.”
“The gold is a gold thread trim I specially commissioned, and there’s silver thread in it too.”
“Actually, the fabric of the dress isn’t ordinary white tulle. If you take it out and look at it in the sunlight, you’ll see that it’s actually an iridescent material.”
Su Tianxue’s fingertips gently caressed the surface of the dust bag.
The bag rustled softly.
Su Tianxue: “It’s finished already?”
Shi Ning hummed in agreement. “The one you designed is in the black box.”
Shi Ning: “Do you want to see it?”
Su Tianxue asked, “Can you try it on for me?”
Shi Ning chuckled. “Of course.”
She suggested, “Why don’t we both try them on? If they don’t fit or if there are any problems, we can tell them right away and send them back for alterations.”
Even as Shi Ning said it, she knew it sounded unreliable.
The reason was simple.
The dresses were custom-made to their exact measurements.
However, Su Tianxue didn’t object to her suggestion.
They each took their wedding dresses and went into separate rooms to change.
Before entering her room, Shi Ning, holding the black dress, said to Su Tianxue, “See you in a bit, Wife.”
Su Tianxue nodded.
The moment the door closed, Shi Ning immediately tossed the dress onto the bed, grabbed her phone, and went into the bathroom to call Ye Wanlan.
The first thing Ye Wanlan said when she answered was, “Calling to settle the score with me?”
Shi Ning was in no mood to settle scores with Ye Wanlan right now!
She said hurriedly, “Jiejie, you’re my dearest sister, do me a favor.”
Hearing this, Ye Wanlan laughed.
She was in the middle of an online meeting. The people on the screen saw her laughing so happily and were unsure whether they should speak.
Ye Wanlan made a pausing gesture, muted her microphone for the meeting, and leaned back in her chair, asking with some amusement, “Since you’ve put it that way, how could I not help you?”
“Go on, what is it?”
Shi Ning said in one breath, “I’m planning to propose to Su Tianxue right now and I have a ring hidden at my place can you please help me get it and have someone deliver it to me thank you thank you Jiejie.”
After hearing all that, Ye Wanlan had only one question.
“You two have been married for so long, why are you still proposing to her?”
Shi Ning: “...It’s a long story.”
Ye Wanlan: “You can make a long story short.”
Shi Ning: “...Jiejie!!”
Ye Wanlan stopped teasing her. She laughed out loud and agreed to Shi Ning’s request. “Alright, send me the address, passcode, and where it is. I’ll have it delivered to your current location in half an hour, okay?”
Shi Ning’s heart sank. “Half an hour?”
Ye Wanlan scolded her, “What do you expect? You think I’m Superman?”
Just stand up, raise a hand, and fly?
Shi Ning resigned herself to her fate.
Half an hour...
How was she going to stall for half an hour?
After hanging up, Shi Ning sat in the bathroom, worrying.
However, she didn’t know that in the other room, Su Tianxue wasn’t trying on her dress either.
She set the dress aside, then gently opened the door, listened for any sounds from Shi Ning’s room, and tiptoed to retrieve the bag she had dropped by the entrance in her anger upon seeing Shen Qingtang.
Inside the bag was Su Tianxue’s tablet.
She closed the door and propped up the tablet.
The tablet’s protective case had a built-in keyboard.
Su Tianxue woke the screen, opened a program, and her fingers began to tap on the keyboard.
She glanced at the time, then at the program’s progress, and figured it would take about another half an hour.
Su Tianxue pressed her lips together, starting to worry. How was she going to explain this half-hour to Shi Ning?
Fortunately, she soon received a message from Shi Ning.
【Wife, I have a bit of an upset stomach TVT】
Su Tianxue breathed a sigh of relief.
【Are you okay?】
Shi Ning replied: 【I’ve already ordered some medicine for delivery, don’t worry. Wife, you can take your time changing, no rush.】
Su Tianxue: 【Okay.】
She worked on the program until it was nearly done, then went out to boil a kettle of water for Shi Ning.
Su Tianxue stood at the door and knocked on Shi Ning’s room.
Lying on the bed, frantically rehearsing in her mind what she was going to say to Su Tianxue, Shi Ning shot up with a start.
She quickly and quietly ran into the bathroom, leaving the door ajar, before calling out in response to Su Tianxue’s knock, “Yes, Wife, what is it?”
Su Tianxue: “I boiled some hot water for you. I’m letting it cool. Remember to drink some later.”
Shi Ning nodded repeatedly, feeling a pang of guilt.
Sigh.
She had lied to her wife again.
She clasped her hands together and repented to the bathroom heater, “This will be the last time!”
That half-hour felt like an eternity to Shi Ning.
Maybe it was because she was too nervous, or maybe it was karma for lying.
Shi Ning’s stomach actually started to hurt.
She curled up on the bed, feeling a cramping pain in her abdomen, and cursed inwardly.
Damn it.
This damn world, was it trying to kill her?!
She just wanted to propose!
Was it really necessary to put her through so much torment?!
Oh, heavens!
Oh, earth!!
Just when Shi Ning thought she was really going to have to spend some more time in the bathroom, the cramping in her stomach disappeared.
Shi Ning attributed this sudden pain to anxiety-induced abdominal stress syndrome.
Yeah, she made that up.
Shi Ning lay on the bed to recover for a moment when she suddenly heard the sound of a door closing.
A thought struck her. She quickly jumped up and shouted, “Wife, my medicine is here! I’ll get it myself!”
But when she opened the door, she found Su Tianxue already standing at the entrance.
She was wearing the white wedding dress.
The dress was just as Shi Ning had described, shimmering under the light.
Like the legendary scales of a mermaid’s tail, the iridescent fabric glittered with Su Tianxue’s slightest movement.
Paired with the stars and tiny diamonds adorning the dress, it was as if she were wearing the entire Milky Way.
The style Shi Ning had chosen was a deep V-neck with an open back. Beneath Su Tianxue’s loosely tied-up hair was a stunning expanse of snowy white skin.
Shi Ning’s breath caught in her throat.
When she saw the small black bag in Su Tianxue’s hand, her breathing became even more labored.
It was over.
Over again.
Her well-laid plan was ruined again.
Su Tianxue glanced at Shi Ning. “You didn’t change?”
This was bad, Shi Ning thought.
She quickly said, “I’ll go change now.”
Su Tianxue shook the bag in her hand. “Your medicine, you don’t want it?”
Su Tianxue put extra emphasis on the word “medicine.”
Shi Ning knew she was done for.
She lowered her head and admitted, “Okay, Wife, I’m sorry. I just told another lie. I don’t have an upset stomach, and what you’re holding isn’t medicine.”
Su Tianxue hummed. “Mm, I figured.”
Shi Ning’s heart sank.
She kept her head down, despairing over her now-dead proposal plan.
She waited for Su Tianxue’s next sentence, her verdict, but instead, Su Tianxue raised her hand and passed the small black bag to her.
“Take it.”
Shi Ning looked up in disbelief.
Su Tianxue: “Weren’t you going to change?”
Shi Ning took the small black bag and scurried back into the bedroom.
“I’m changing! I’m changing!”
Su Tianxue waited for two minutes before Shi Ning’s cry for help came from the room. “Wife, can you help me?”
Su Tianxue walked over and asked from the doorway, “What’s wrong?”
Shi Ning explained, “I can’t tie the ribbons on the back.”
Su Tianxue recalled that the dress she had designed did indeed have ribbons, and they were in a spot that would be difficult to tie by oneself.
She knocked on the door and, after getting Shi Ning’s permission, entered the room.
But Shi Ning was nowhere to be seen.
The room was pitch black.
Just as she was feeling puzzled, a beam of light suddenly shone on the ceiling.
Above her was a sky full of stars.
She followed the light to its source and saw Shi Ning, dressed in the black wedding gown, standing next to a starry sky projector by the cabinet.
Shi Ning walked toward Su Tianxue, step by step.
Su Tianxue pondered for a moment. “You’re not going to propose to me, are you?”
At that moment, Shi Ning felt like she had charged up a special move to ninety percent, only to accidentally let go and have it all miss completely.
Now she was stuck, unable to move forward or backward.
Shi Ning gave a wry smile. “Wife, why do you have to be so smart?”
And was Su Tianxue allergic to romance?
Even if you had a hunch, even if you guessed it, shouldn’t you pretend you didn’t know anything at a time like this?!
She had exposed her plan so bluntly and directly.
...
Heh.
To think that the first proposal of her life would end in failure.
Shi Ning gave up.
She plopped down on the bed.
Su Tianxue chuckled, walked over to Shi Ning, and knelt before her.
Shi Ning didn’t understand why Su Tianxue was doing this.
Su Tianxue took her hand. “Are you unhappy?”
Shi Ning’s gaze drifted. “Not really.”
She explained, “Just a little frustrated.”
In her imagination, today was supposed to be a perfect day.
Who knew that first Shen Qingtang would cause trouble, and then this would happen.
...
Well.
All for nothing.
Su Tianxue was very calm. She asked her, “Frustrated about what?”
Shi Ning said, as if it were obvious, “You were right, I was planning to propose to you today. I wanted to give you the most romantic proposal, at least... at least not like this.”
She lowered her head, dejected. “I don’t want you to be disappointed.”
Su Tianxue squeezed Shi Ning’s palm. “Who said I was disappointed?”
Shi Ning: “But this proposal is terrible.”
Su Tianxue: “How is it terrible?”
Shi Ning: “...”
Damn science-minded people, they just didn’t understand her kind of person’s pursuit of romance!
Su Tianxue’s gentle voice reached her. “On the day I wanted to confess to you, you proposed to me. It proves that we both want to get closer to each other. Isn’t that wonderful?”
In that instant, hearing those words, Shi Ning felt her brain momentarily deprived of oxygen.
Specifically, she could understand every word Su Tianxue said.
But...
Why was it that when these words were put together, she found them a little hard to comprehend?
She repeated Su Tianxue’s words.
“You, to me? Confess?”
It was as if a giant pie had fallen from the sky, about to knock Shi Ning out.
She was dizzy, her mouth moving faster than her brain. “But didn’t you say we’re friends now? Didn’t you say you wanted to be with someone you could grow with? Su Tianxue, you like me?”
Well.
It wasn’t strange to ask that.
Although Shi Ning had already glimpsed this affection in Su Tianxue’s repeated indulgence,
she never expected Su Tianxue to confess to her.
...She had always thought that she would probably be the one to take the initiative.
That she had to strive, to become better and stronger, to earn her love.
But now, for Su Tianxue to say something like this so directly, did this woman know what she was doing or not?!
Su Tianxue’s answer continued to befuddle Shi Ning’s brain, pulling her into a sweet vortex.
Su Tianxue held her hand and said earnestly, “Of course, I like you.”
“I must admit, I might be a bit slow in this matter, and sometimes even too reserved. So, in response to the affection you’ve shown, my replies have always been insufficient.”
For some reason, hearing Su Tianxue say such things in a calm tone, with no particularly grand words, the tip of Shi Ning’s nose began to sting.
She didn’t know why.
She had never been one to cry.
Su Tianxue was still speaking.
Gentle, sincere, every word transformed into a star in the sky, merging with the brilliant galaxy above Shi Ning’s head.
“Shi Ning, it was only after meeting you that I realized not everything can be solved with books.”
“I’ve read many theories about love and had many ideas before. But after meeting you, I understood that love is indeed impulsive. It definitely has an irrational side.”
Shi Ning looked up at Su Tianxue, her eyes crystal clear.
“I realized that no matter what kind of person you are, and regardless of whether being with you aligns with my life plan, I want to be with you.”
Shi Ning didn’t like the sound of that.
She pouted. “What do you mean, ‘what kind of person I am’? Am I not a good person?”
Su Tianxue: “Is that your takeaway from this?”
Shi Ning smiled. “Of course not.”
She pulled Su Tianxue up and then flipped them over.
The black tulle pressed down upon the white.
Shi Ning leaned in irresistibly and kissed the tip of Su Tianxue’s nose. “The point is, you like me. You like me a whole lot.”
Su Tianxue: ...
See?
Give her an inch, and she takes a mile.
But then again, who was it that had spoiled her like this?
Su Tianxue lay on the bed at her leisure, her eyes bright. “Yes, I like you.”
Su Tianxue hadn’t forgotten her own business.
“Where’s your watch?”
When Su Tianxue suddenly mentioned the watch, Shi Ning didn’t react at first. She lingered, stealing a few more kisses from Su Tianxue before getting up to find the watch she had taken off while changing.
Finally, she found the black watch on the table.
She picked it up and handed it to Su Tianxue, but Su Tianxue said, “You put it on first.”
Shi Ning didn’t understand why, but she obediently did as she was told.
The moment she put the watch on, Su Tianxue raised her wrist. She had never taken off her white watch.
Something magical happened.
The originally dark watch faces lit up, and an image of a planet appeared on both of their screens.
Shi Ning held her breath.
Su Tianxue’s wrist gradually moved closer to hers, the watches drawing nearer, and the planets on the watch faces began to change.
Shi Ning asked curiously, “This is—”
Su Tianxue: “Shh.”
She raised her other hand, placing a fingertip on Shi Ning’s lips.
Shi Ning stuck out the tip of her tongue and licked it.
Su Tianxue made a move as if to pinch her tongue, and Shi Ning quickly retracted it.
At that moment, Su Tianxue’s wrist finally touched Shi Ning’s.
On the watch faces, the two planets finally collided.
On the tiny screens, a brilliant explosion was taking place.
Then, as all the dust and smoke cleared and things stabilized, a new image appeared.
Layers upon layers of brilliant red formed something like a rose.
A line of small text was appearing on the watch face.
Jet’aime parce que tout l’univers a conspiré à me faire arriver jusqu’à toi.
Of course, Shi Ning could understand it.
Back at the Abandoned Observatory, she had written something similar on a card.
But what Su Tianxue’s sentence meant was—
The entire universe conspired to help me find you.
Su Tianxue, perhaps fearing Shi Ning wouldn’t understand, explained, “This is a program I made. Um, you can think of it as two planets colliding within their Roche limit, eventually exploding and giving birth to a new celestial phenomenon.”
“This phenomenon is called the Rosette Nebula. It’s the universe’s love letter.”
“As for...” Su Tianxue paused. “I just added the part at the end. I thought, since you came from another world, it proves that the theory of parallel universes might exist and be real. Then, by logical extension, there might be countless overlapping universes.”
“Thank you for coming to my universe and letting me become your moon.”
...
Shi Ning was stunned. “You saw what I wrote?”
She had secretly written—When I fell in love with the moon, I no longer looked up at the stars.
She thought Su Tianxue didn’t know.
Su Tianxue lowered her eyes. “Didn’t we go back there once?”
Shi Ning: “...So you started liking me back then?”
Su Tianxue: “Is that important?”
Shi Ning’s lips curved up. “Of course.”
“But—right now, something else is more important.”
Shi Ning gazed into Su Tianxue’s eyes and said softly, “Wife, I really want to kiss you right now.”
Ten thousand words couldn’t explain how she was feeling right now.
Only actions could.
On the watches, the monitored heart rates were rising.
In the room, the galaxy swirling on the ceiling was turned upside down.
The temperature was rising.
Black and white intertwined.
Shi Ning kissed Su Tianxue, and both were equally lost in the moment.
So lost that they closed their eyes, yet could perceive everything.
The other’s lips were soft. No matter how many times they kissed, she would still be captivated by that soft sweetness.
The other’s tongue was resilient, chasing and playing, tangling and dancing.
She had never craved water so much.
To seize everything fresher, sweeter, and stickier from between the other’s lips and tongue.
Their breaths were bound to mingle.
Su Tianxue’s loosely tied black hair had long since come undone, spreading out over the soft, haze-blue bed, occasionally pressed down by Shi Ning’s hand.
Drip.
Drip.
At some point, it had started to rain again outside.
The rain wasn’t fierce or violent.
Today’s rain was especially gentle.
It fell in fine threads, tapping against the glass before sliding down.
The air was filled with a refreshing humidity.
It occasionally slipped in through the cracks in the window, bringing down the ever-rising temperature in the room by a few degrees.
But the heat between people could not be cooled.
Fire entwined with ice, with a passion never seen before.
In a gasp for air, their lips parted.
A glistening sheen remained.
Shi Ning leaned in and licked away the silvery thread that had escaped the corner of Su Tianxue’s mouth.
Her voice was slightly hoarse, and her hands were getting restless.
“Wife, let’s make love.”
Su Tianxue had long been aroused.
But she still had a bit of rationality left.
“Then let me get up and take off the wedding dress first.”
Shi Ning pressed down on her shoulders, refusing to let her get up. “No need.”
“If it gets ruined, I’ll buy you a new one.”
Shi Ning hooked a finger around the silk thread at the dress’s neckline, toying with the small silver stars and diamonds. “Actually, when I was designing this dress, I was thinking, if one day, you wore it...”
“I would want to tear it apart with my own hands.”
Later, diamonds scattered across the floor.
The iridescent silk threads fell to the ground, as if the vast Milky Way had been torn asunder.
The black tulle dress also fell to the floor.
Lying together with the shattered white.
In the midst of their repeated motions, in a moment of dazed disorientation, Su Tianxue suddenly felt something cold appear on her fingertip.
She glanced over and saw that Shi Ning’s free hand had, at some point, opened the small black bag and taken out what was inside.
A diamond ring.
Shi Ning held it in her hand, which wasn’t idle either.
“I know you’re a low-key person, hmm... you don’t like to be flashy.”
Her hand pushed deeper.
“Ngh—”
The end of Su Tianxue’s restrained moan curled upwards, floating into the air, joining the other broken sounds to look down from above at their creator.
“So, I specifically chose a low-key style.”
Su Tianxue looked at the enormous diamond and wanted to curse. “You call this... ngh... call this low-key?”
Shi Ning tilted her head. “This isn’t low-key enough?”
“It’s very small.”
A wicked idea came to her. The hand holding the diamond slowly moved closer to the other hand that was currently in motion.
Su Tianxue was startled.
The cold object appeared.
Shi Ning said seriously, “It’s not big. It can still go in.”
Su Tianxue gritted her teeth. “Take it away.”
Shi Ning chuckled. “Wife, marry me, okay?”
Su Tianxue could clearly feel the hardness and coldness of the diamond.
She lifted her leg to kick the woman off, but the movement only ended up “aiding the enemy.”
She let out a muffled groan.
Shi Ning had no intention of hurting her; she was just teasing her.
She loved how Su Tianxue looked in moments of tension.
How she suddenly became extra sensitive.
How she suddenly tightened.
So cute.
She loved it so much.
Shi Ning whined coquettishly, “Wife, will you marry me, please?”
“I like you, I like you so much.”
“I like how you are normally, and I like how you are now.”
“I like how you look like you’re about to cry when you can’t take it anymore, but you force yourself to hold it in.”
“I like—”
Su Tianxue really couldn’t listen anymore.
She slapped a hand over Shi Ning’s mouth and glared at her with her remaining strength. “Shut up.”
Shi Ning blinked.
Su Tianxue: “Take the ring out and put it on my hand.”
Shi Ning raised her eyebrows slightly.
Su Tianxue resigned herself. “I’ll marry you.”
And so the ring returned to where it truly belonged.
Su Tianxue’s finger.
Later, when Shi Ning pushed Su Tianxue over and took her from behind, she looked at the hand Su Tianxue was using for support, and the glint of the diamond on it.
Mm.
This was her wife.
Truly her wife.
Shi Ning had never been so wild.
In Su Tianxue’s memory, the last time they had been this wild was when she was drugged, during those few days at the hotel.
But the Shi Ning of today was even more exaggerated than back then.
Like a goddamn perpetual motion machine.
And like a damn dog, nibbling everywhere, clinging to her like a child, impossible to shake off.
She kept calling her “Wife, Wife.”
Wife, does this feel good?
Wife, do you like this position?
How about this, Wife?
Doing the things a wolf would do, yet pretending to be an obedient little puppy when she spoke.
Liar!
Mm... unable to hold it back, Su Tianxue cursed in her heart.
When Su Tianxue finally couldn’t take it anymore, fainted, and woke up again, the first thing she thought of when she saw the diamond ring on her hand and remembered what Shi Ning had done was to take it off and throw it out the window.
She never wanted to see this ring again in her life.
But, fortunately, she still had her reason.
Su Tianxue asked hoarsely, “How much was this?”
Shi Ning yawned, snuggled in Su Tianxue’s arms, hugged her waist, and nuzzled her collarbone. “How much was what?”
Su Tianxue: “The ring.”
Shi Ning: “Not expensive.”
“About enough to buy a dress?”
Su Tianxue thought about the price of the dresses Shi Ning bought.
...
Forget it, she wouldn’t throw it away. What a waste.
Shi Ning was playing with her little cherry when Su Tianxue slapped her hand away.
She hid her hand and said to Su Tianxue, “Wife, if you don’t like this one, it’s okay. I actually prepared others. At worst, we can just wear a different ring every day, never repeating, to represent that our love will always be fresh!”
Faced with this version of Shi Ning, Su Tianxue could only generously offer her two words.
“Idiot.”
Hearing that, Shi Ning was unhappy. “Wife, you cursed at me.”
Su Tianxue: “Is this the first time I’ve cursed at you?”
Shi Ning: “That’s different. That was in bed.”
Su Tianxue: “Aren’t we in bed now?”
Shi Ning clicked her tongue. “Wife, I know what you mean.”
When they went for another round, Su Tianxue stared at the ceiling, wondering if she had made a wrong decision.
She had previously thought that it didn’t matter if she lost to Shi Ning in bed once.
She had figured it wouldn’t be that many times.
Not that frequent in a week.
But now, seeing how Shi Ning seemed ready to go day and night...
She regretted it.
She regretted it a little.
Her body was already a bit tired, but strangely, whenever she collided with Shi Ning, it was as if a chemical reaction occurred. Everything in her would naturally be stirred up and respond.
Long before her brain could react, her body had already recognized her feelings for Shi Ning.
With that thought, Su Tianxue relaxed and wrapped her arms around Shi Ning in return.
To hell with work.
To hell with reality.
She just wanted to lose herself in a dreamlike haze with the person she loved.
She had strived for her ideals for so long, gazed at the sky for so many years, but only by Shi Ning’s side, in that instant, could Su Tianxue truly glimpse the universe, glimpse the meaning and truth of life’s existence.
Everything was for love.
She loved the vast, boundless sky above, loved the distant, magnificent, and mysterious galaxy.
She loved truth.
And she loved every wisp of worldly smoke when Shi Ning was by her side.
Even more, she loved this woman who had burst into her life like a flame, leaving an indelible mark.
In this moment, the goddess had finally fallen.
In the presence of a kindred spirit, matters of romance were the most important thing in the world.
No one could disturb them.
Not the falling rain outside the window.
Not the rising sun of the morning.
This small room was a world of its own.
A world belonging to lovers.
