PANT - Chapter 18

Chapter 18

Shi Ning felt her last comment was quite explicit. Anyone who knew a little about that sort of thing would probably guess what she was alluding to, where she wanted to bite.

But Su Tianxue just had to be the exception.

She blinked her beautiful eyes in confusion, her tone as innocent as a child’s. “Doesn’t being bitten hurt? Why would it feel good, or exciting.”

That pedantic streak of hers surfaced again. She said to Shi Ning with a completely straight face, “Biting produces a sensation of pain. Pain is an unpleasant emotion generated by the body after injury. It usually stands in opposition to pleasure.”

Shi Ning was stunned for a moment, staring at Su Tianxue. “Are you serious?”

She was trying to be seductive here, and Su Tianxue was giving her a science lesson.

Su Tianxue pressed her lips together. “I’m just correcting your mistake.”

Shi Ning thought, This woman knows nothing, yet she still wants to sleep with me... That’s certainly brave, very ambitious.

Taking advantage of Shi Ning’s moment of stunned silence, Su Tianxue saw her grip loosen and quickly pushed her away. Shi Ning stumbled back but wasn’t in a hurry. Once steady, she watched as Su Tianxue opened the closet and rummaged around for bedding.

She crossed her arms, watching her at a leisurely pace.

“You’re not going to sleep in the same bed as me?”

Su Tianxue took out the bedding, spread it on the floor, and refused to speak to her. She then took a pillow from the double bed and placed it on the floor. After doing all this, she went into the master bathroom to wash up again. Then, like a silent robot, she prepared to lie down in the makeshift bed on the floor.

Shi Ning, who had been watching her movements without a word, finally spoke.

Shi Ning walked over and squatted down by the floor bedding, meeting the eyes of Su Tianxue, who had wrapped herself tightly in the quilt. Hugging her knees, she asked curiously, “You’re letting me sleep on the bed?”

Su Tianxue closed her eyes, clutching the quilt with both hands, and replied coolly, “Would you be willing to sleep on the floor?”

A person whose outfits cost hundreds of thousands, how could she possibly be willing to sleep on the floor in her house?

Su Tianxue wasn’t an idiot. To avoid any unnecessary arguments over sleeping arrangements that might wake her sister and Jiang Ningran, Su Tianxue had simply gotten into the floor bed herself. She looked like a chrysalis, which Shi Ning found a little cute.

She smiled and shook her head. “Why wouldn’t I be?”

After speaking, she reached for Su Tianxue’s quilt, about to crawl into the bedding with her. Su Tianxue was startled. The chrysalis, which had been in a world of ice and snow, suddenly burst to life as if spring had arrived, springing up from the floor. “What are you doing!”

Shi Ning said innocently, “Sleeping on the floor with you.”

Su Tianxue felt like the nerves in her brain were facing a major trauma.

Shi Ning explained, “We’re a married couple now.”

Su Tianxue: “There’s no one else in the room.”

Shi Ning gasped. “Su Tianxue, I never thought you were this kind of person.”

Su Tianxue: “?”

Shi Ning: “I see a pile of Confucian classics on your bookshelf. How can you be one way when you read and another in person? What about being watchful over oneself when alone, and not doing anything shameful even in private? Why are you unwilling to maintain our marriage when no one’s around?”

Su Tianxue: “...Shut up.”

She frowned and kicked at Shi Ning. “Get away.”

Shi Ning clutched her chest, feigning sorrow. “And now domestic violence!”

...This person is so annoying! Why does a perfectly fine person have to have a mouth!

Su Tianxue forced herself to be patient and asked through gritted teeth, “Where did I hit you.”

Shi Ning manually made a heart-breaking gesture and even provided her own sound effect.

“Crack-snap.” Shi Ning said pitifully, “You hit my heart. It hurts.”

Su Tianxue forced herself to take three deep breaths, then stood up, bent over, picked up the bedding from the floor, and plopped down on the bed. She wrapped herself tightly in the quilt and lay down.

Shi Ning looked at the mummy on the bed and wanted to laugh, but she was afraid that if she laughed too wildly, she’d scare the woman away again.

Seeing that Shi Ning still hadn’t come up, Su Tianxue grew a little impatient. She patted the edge of the bed and barked out four words: “Get in bed. Sleep.”

Shi Ning hadn’t expected this development.

She asked curiously, “Wife, can you tell me which of my words moved you, made you change your mind and decide to treat me gently?”

Su Tianxue rolled over, her back to Shi Ning, and said icily, “Not a single one.”

“I was afraid you’d talk me to death.”

Shi Ning wasn’t angry. She sidled over with a playful grin and kissed Su Tianxue’s cheek. Su Tianxue’s eyes were closed, her butterfly-wing lashes trembling. She must have felt the movement, because she seemed a little scared, a little nervous. Shi Ning whispered in her ear, “Don’t be afraid. I don’t bite.”

Her tone was gentle. “Wife, I’m very happy that you’re letting me sleep in the bed with you.”

Even with her eyes closed, Su Tianxue could imagine the punchable expression on Shi Ning’s face as she said that.

The next second, she felt a light breath fall upon her, followed by the scent of the ocean. Then came Shi Ning’s soft laugh, like a snowflake or a tiny feather, drifting down and tickling her, making Su Tianxue want to wave it away.

Shi Ning reminded her mischievously, “Wife, why don’t you try splitting the character for ‘bite’ apart?”

As soon as she said that, she turned on her heel and ran into the bathroom to take a shower.

Who else but Shi Ning would take a shower in the middle of the night?

Su Tianxue was smart. The moment Shi Ning said it, she split the character in half. And then- her face turned beet red, practically steaming, and she made a whirring sound like a machine malfunctioning from an energy overload.

A blush stained Su Tianxue’s cold, beautiful face- an instinctual reaction. In her heart, her annoyance with Shi Ning grew. Why did she always lose to her? When would she ever be able to make Shi Ning blush for once?

Su Tianxue gritted her teeth. She felt she needed to do some studying, to find a way to win one back against Shi Ning. In her life, there was no reason she should always be the loser, always letting someone else set the pace.

She was going to cram on the subject of girls and girls!

And then, she would launch a counterattack against Shi Ning.

In the bathroom, Shi Ning had no idea that Su Tianxue had thought through so much in that single instant. She turned the cold water valve and, still fully clothed, stepped right under the spray.

The icy water extinguished the undying flame that had risen in her heart. Closing her eyes, she wiped her face. The image that appeared behind her eyelids was the expression on Su Tianxue’s face right before they were interrupted.

Shi Ning found it hard to describe that expression. All she could say was that Su Tianxue’s defiance and competitiveness made her seem so special, so captivating. She herself was like a moth; knowing it was impossible, she still shamelessly fluttered closer, provoking the other woman, waiting like a spectator to see her reaction. She wanted to see her beg for mercy, to see that proud spirit of hers broken.

But Shi Ning also knew in her heart that it would be very difficult for her and Su Tianxue to take the next step.

Although she was a scumbag who fooled around all day- the Beijing equivalent of a street loafer who wanders everywhere- the only difference was that while the old men wore flip-flops and carried large fans, she wore designer suits and carried luxury bags. At first glance, people might think she was a street style model, but a closer look would reveal she was just a street loafer in exquisite packaging.

Even so, she had her principles and her bottom line.

When it came to doing pleasurable things, there was no reason to force someone against their will.

She wouldn’t force Su Tianxue, but she also couldn’t agree to let Su Tianxue top her. Right now, their psychological states were almost identical. Neither wanted to be the one to submit.

Su Tianxue-

Shi Ning grabbed the showerhead and aimed the cold water at her head, letting it beat down hard.

The heat in her heart still hadn’t subsided.

Shi Ning let out a long sigh, covering her eyes with her hands and leaning against the bathroom wall. “This can’t go on.”

Translator's Note: The wordplay refers to the Chinese character for "bite," (yǎo). When deconstructed, its components are (kǒu), meaning "mouth," and (jiāo), which implies "crossing" or "intercourse." The resulting combination, 口交 (kǒujiāo), is the specific term for oral sex.
