PANT - Chapter 35
Chapter 35
During lunch, Su Wanxing relentlessly tried to find out where her sister and Shi Ning were going for their date.
Su Wanxing: “What are your plans for this afternoon?”
Su Wanxing: “Do you have any ideas? If you have any recommendations, could you share them with us? Zhu Jiejie and I have no idea where to go for our date.”
Shi Ning couldn’t stand it anymore. She shot her a look and said sarcastically, “Can you even call it a date when you two aren’t even in a relationship?”
Su Wanxing’s fists clenched.
She thought, And you think what you and my sister are doing can be called a date?! That’s just getting paid to work!
Just as the Nth battle between the sisters-in-law was about to erupt, Zhu Yu silently picked out a piece of cola chicken wing, Su Wanxing’s favorite, and placed it in her bowl. “Wanxing, eat.”
Meanwhile, Su Tianxue tugged on Shi Ning’s sleeve.
Like a big, fierce dog that barked at everyone it met, Shi Ning would quiet down and return to her owner’s side with just a gentle pull on the leash from Su Tianxue.
But that didn’t stop her from provoking Su Wanxing one more time.
Shi Ning deliberately asked Su Tianxue, “Wife, are you looking forward to our date this afternoon?”
Su Tianxue: “...I am.”
Su Tianxue felt that if she said she wasn’t, Shi Ning might just open her mouth and bite her.
Having gotten a satisfactory answer, Shi Ning shot Su Wanxing a triumphant look.
Furious, Su Wanxing raised her foot under the table to stomp on Shi Ning, but she misjudged and stepped on Zhu Yu instead.
Zhu Yu winced in pain.
Flustered, Su Wanxing quickly asked with concern, “Zhu Jiejie, are you okay?”
With cold sweat beading on her forehead, Zhu Yu slowly squeezed out a few words, “I’m fine.”
Shi Ning snorted, thinking to herself that this was Su Wanxing’s just deserts.
But Su Wanxing immediately blamed Shi Ning for Zhu Yu’s accidental injury.
If Shi Ning hadn’t provoked her, she wouldn’t have gotten angry! If she hadn’t gotten angry, she wouldn’t have tried to kick someone! And if she hadn’t tried to kick someone, Zhu Yu wouldn’t have gotten hurt!
Su Wanxing, puffed up like a steamed bun with anger, glared at Shi Ning. If looks could kill, Shi Ning would have died ten million times over.
Shi Ning couldn’t care less about Su Wanxing’s petty glares.
It was like being scratched by a kitten-powerless.
Whatever dish Su Wanxing reached for, Shi Ning would extend her chopsticks to pick at the same one.
Su Tianxue calmly observed the situation at the table. She glanced up at Shi Ning, whose face was written all over with glee at her accidental victory, then picked up a piece of dry-pot cauliflower, put it in her mouth, and chewed slowly.
Shi Ning asked Zhou Lu and Xin Ya, who were sitting opposite them.
Shi Ning: “Where are you two planning to go this afternoon?”
Xin Ya perked up at the question. “We’re going to the amusement park!” she said enthusiastically. “Do you want to come with us?”
Shi Ning smiled faintly. “No, thanks.”
She had only asked where Xin Ya was going so she could completely avoid that option.
She was on a romance show and finally had a chance to be alone with her wife. Why would she want to join a crowd and turn it into a group date?
Xin Ya, chewing on a spring roll, asked curiously, “Then where are you guys going?”
Shi Ning shook her head. “Haven’t decided yet.”
In truth, she had already made plans, but she didn’t want to say it in front of so many people.
Xin Ya sighed. “That’s not a good way to go about it.” She added with a hint of a brag, “My Lu Lu planned our trip to the amusement park early this morning.”
Zhou Lu mercilessly added, “Yes, mainly because she’s not interested in anywhere else besides the amusement park.”
Xin Ya was a little annoyed. “Could you not make me sound like a child?”
Zhou Lu’s gaze drifted over to her.
Xin Ya finished her spring roll in one bite, thinking fiercely that even if she were a child, she’d be the kind who could take down other kids with a single punch.
After the meal, everyone prepared to set off.
The production team had arranged three different cars for each group of guests to use.
The livestream camera would also be split into three different views for the audience to choose from.
【Ahhh, it’s so hard to choose!】
【I want to watch them all, I want to watch them all, waah!】
【One computer, one tablet, one phone. Watching all three views at once is no problem at all!】
Shi Ning and Su Tianxue got into their car. The driver turned around and asked them, “Where are you two headed today?”
Su Tianxue lifted her chin slightly, looking at Shi Ning, indicating that the decision was hers to make.
Shi Ning, ever cautious, glanced back at the two cars lined up behind them, then turned to the driver and said, “Sir, how about you just drive us around here for a bit first.”
The driver: “Huh?”
What kind of request was that?
The driver asked, bewildered, “Are you having your date here today?”
Shi Ning shook her head. “No, I just want to see the scenery.”
【I think you just want to shake off the car behind you!!】
【Reporting! Hali-Lu-Ya’s car has already set off for the amusement park!!】
【As expected, Shi Ning wasn’t wrong. Su Wanxing and Zhu Yu’s car has been following them, hahaha!】
As soon as Su Wanxing got in her car, her answer to the driver’s question about their destination was also startling: “Sir, follow that car in front of us.”
Hearing that line, the driver momentarily thought he was on the set of a spy thriller, not a romance variety show.
He asked again, uncertainly, “You want to follow the car in front?”
Sparks flying in her eyes, Su Wanxing nodded seriously. “That’s right!”
Seeing this, Zhu Yu shook her head helplessly.
Zhu Yu: “What’s the point of chasing them?”
Su Wanxing: “Don’t you want to see where they’re going for their date?”
Zhu Yu: “...To be honest, I do.”
Gossip!
Celebrities gossip too!
Top-tier celebrities also gossip!
The driver was an honest man. Every day, besides driving, he went home and played on his phone. And while on his phone, he was inevitably subjected to the baptism of the trashy dramas about wealthy families that his wife watched in the living room.
He then remembered that the job he was doing today was for a romance variety show.
A thunderbolt struck his mind, and he couldn’t help but start speculating.
Driver: “Miss, why are you chasing the car in front?”
Su Wanxing: “...Huh?”
She didn’t have much experience making small talk with drivers. Usually, when she was in a car, Su Wanxing pretended to be mute.
Sometimes she’d encounter an overly enthusiastic driver who insisted on chatting about everything under the sun, from heaven and earth to astronomy and geography, before proceeding to interrogate her about her entire family tree.
Su Wanxing couldn’t handle it.
The driver was still rambling, “Is there some kind of love triangle? Did someone cheat? Is someone two-timing?”
Zhu Yu said helplessly, “Sir, you’ve been watching too much TV.”
She reminded the driver, “Keep your eyes on the road, sir.”
Zhu Yu’s way of speaking was gentle and wouldn’t make people uncomfortable. But she was by no means the type of person you could take advantage of just because of her gentleness. Faced with Zhu Yu’s serious gaze, the driver obediently shut his mouth.
Right.
He should just focus on driving.
Shi Ning and Su Tianxue’s car circled the park several times, and Su Wanxing and Zhu Yu, who were following them, also circled several times.
After a few laps, Su Wanxing started to feel nauseous.
Su Wanxing: “What is Shi Ning doing?!”
She knew perfectly well that this kind of nonsensical, roundabout strategy could only have been thought up by Shi Ning; it had nothing to do with her sister.
The driver made a sharp turn, and the car swerved. Su Wanxing lost her grip for a moment and fell toward Zhu Yu. With quick reflexes, Zhu Yu grabbed Su Wanxing with one hand and held onto the handle above her head with the other.
By the time the car stabilized, Su Wanxing had already fallen into Zhu Yu’s arms.
Zhu Yu tilted her head and asked, “Are you okay?”
Su Wanxing didn’t know where to put her hands. She immediately tucked them against her chest, like a panicked little kangaroo.
Zhu Yu was amused.
Zhu Yu: “Su Wanxing, are you that scared of me?”
Su Wanxing quickly shook her head. “No, no, no, I’m not.”
Zhu Yu: “Then why are you acting like this, hmm?”
Su Wanxing coughed lightly. “I’m nervous.”
The car was driving smoothly again. Zhu Yu helped her sit up straight, and Su Wanxing put some distance between them.
Zhu Yu said with a smile, “You don’t have to treat me like some kind of monster. Just treat me like a normal person. Weren’t we getting along well before?”
Su Wanxing: “Huh? Before?”
Zhu Yu: “Yes, before the show.”
Hearing this, Su Wanxing’s head started to ache.
Did Zhu Yu know her identity or not?!
Suddenly bringing up how they got along before the show... Su Wanxing couldn’t even imagine what people online would say.
She didn’t want to become a part of Zhu Yu’s gossip column or a stain on her record.
She quickly said, intending for the show’s audience to hear, “It’s different from before the show. You and Shi Ning-jie are friends, and Shi Ning is my sister’s... girlfriend.” It was really difficult for Su Wanxing to admit this out loud. To be honest, the day she met Shi Ning, Su Wanxing never imagined things would turn out this way.
“It’s different now.”
That’s what Su Wanxing said.
Zhu Yu was puzzled. “How is it different?”
She looked at Su Wanxing. “You can just treat me as a friend, same as before.”
Now that Zhu Yu had put it that way, Su Wanxing understood what she meant.
She nodded.
A relaxed smile flowed in Zhu Yu’s eyes. “As a friend, I suggest we stop following Shi Ning and the others. It’s too obvious. The way Shi Ning is driving in circles, she clearly knows we’re behind them.”
Su Wanxing: “Then where should we go?”
Zhu Yu: “How about we just find a place you want to go? Then, when they’re actually on their date, we can just borrow someone’s phone to watch the livestream and find out where they are.” Zhu Yu paused. “If you still want to find them, that is.”
Su Wanxing’s eyes lit up. “Oh, right!”
She didn’t hold back her praise. “You’re so smart!”
Zhu Yu: “So, where do you want to go?”
Su Wanxing answered instinctively, “I want to go to your practice room! Your recording studio!”
Her fan-brain had completely taken over her thoughts at that moment.
After the words were out, Su Wanxing fell silent. She thought for a moment, trying her best to salvage the situation. “Ahem, it’s because it’s too sunny right now, and I’m worried other places will be too crowded. You know, you get what I mean, right?”
Zhu Yu looked at Su Wanxing, about sixty percent certain that Su Wanxing was her fan.
She wasn’t sure about now, but Night Star definitely was.
She smiled and replied, “That’s fine. We’ll go to the practice room this afternoon.” She suggested, “If you don’t mind, we could even record a song together.”
Su Wanxing was surprised. “Is that really okay?!”
“I’ve never been to a recording studio before.”
Zhu Yu asked casually, “Then where did you record your songs before?”
Su Wanxing also answered instinctively, “Just at home. The acoustics in the bathroom are actually pretty good.”
After saying that, she looked at Zhu Yu’s smiling eyes, worried that her high school secret identity would be exposed. She quickly added, “I meant recording for those karaoke apps, not for songs that get released.”
Zhu Yu: “Mm, I know.”
【Stop trying to hide it! Little Sister Su, the whole world knows your secret identity!!】
【I bet Xiao Yu probably knows that Su Wanxing is Night Star too, hahaha!】
Shi Ning had the driver go in circles while she kept an eye on the car behind them.
Once she confirmed that no one was tailing them anymore, she finally let down her guard and said to the driver, “Okay, okay, sir, you can stop circling now.”
The driver asked, “Where to next?”
Shi Ning glanced at Su Tianxue, thinking about the bizarre tasks the production team had come up with, and an idea formed in her mind.
She turned to ask for Su Tianxue’s opinion. “Wife, I was thinking we could go shopping for some clothes first. What do you think?”
Su Tianxue: “Why the sudden urge to buy clothes?”
She still remembered Shi Ning saying that one of her dresses cost a million.
Shi Ning: “Do I need a reason to suddenly buy clothes?”
She smiled. “Don’t we beautiful women buy things whenever we feel like it?”
Su Tianxue thought of the dress that had been accidentally ruined in the dark room.
Su Tianxue: “...Be frugal.”
Shi Ning: “Uh-huh, uh-huh. So, shall we go buy clothes?”
Su Tianxue nodded, accepting Shi Ning’s suggestion.
【Shi Ning makes so much sense, I can’t even argue.】
【To our sudden shopping urges w】
【I’m curious, whose money are they spending on clothes? Isn’t Shi Ning an uneducated good-for-nothing with no money? Is she going to spend Sister Su’s money?】
【ohh that’s not impossible.】
【How can she be so shameless about being a kept woman??】
【Folks, is it possible that Shi Ning has her own money? The clothes she usually wears aren’t cheap. In contrast, Sister Su always dresses very frugally.】
【Even if she has money, there’s no way she earned it herself. I’ve seen plenty of rich second-generation kids like her. Aren’t they just relying on their parents? Freeloaders. Wearing their parents’ money, using their parents’ money, eating their parents’ money. She’s almost thirty, in a relationship, and still spending her parents’ money. Ugh.】
【Thinking about the past scandals about Shi Ning, I feel more and more that she’s no different from those rich second-generation kids who just wander the streets all day. A person with no career of her own, who only knows how to have fun. I have no idea what Sister Su sees in her.】
【What’s wrong with you people? They’re a match made in heaven, what right do you demons have to object?!】
【What scandal? Someone fill me in!】
Shi Ning had no idea that the internet already saw her as a freeloader who relied on her parents, idled her life away waiting for death, and clung to Su Tianxue’s thigh for support.
Her mind was currently busy with her own plans.
How was she going to achieve those strange goals?
Kiss ten places...
Shi Ning couldn’t help but turn her gaze to Su Tianxue, already starting to plan her objectives.
Ten places.
Mm.
Su Tianxue’s lips were a must. Her lips looked pale, not the full type, which was why her whole face appeared so cold and aloof, exuding an ascetic vibe. But in reality, her lips were wonderful to kiss. Soft, softer than she looked, softer than the first impression she gave. Sometimes, when their kisses grew passionate, Su Tianxue would have even cuter reactions. When there was too much saliva, Shi Ning liked to catch it, like a person dying of thirst in the desert tasting their own sweet spring.
She loved the feeling of their mouths, lips, and tongues intertwining.
Kissing Su Tianxue was addictive.
What else?
The other places she most wanted to kiss were not places she could kiss in front of so many people.
There were places that, with just the slightest touch, would stand erect and tremble, changing from a soft state to something a bit hard, like the pit of a grape or a cherry.
And there were other places where, before she even kissed them, just the warm breath from the tip of her nose brushing against them was enough to feel a tropical rainforest’s humidity. How to describe it? It was as if her approach awakened an equatorial hurricane, and in that storm, both of them were completely swept away by passion and desire.
She loved kissing those places.
Because Su Tianxue’s reactions were so interesting.
Her toes would curl, her brows would furrow, and on her dazed and helpless face, a stubborn expression that refused to beg for mercy would occasionally appear.
All of it was wonderful.
All of it was unforgettable to Shi Ning.
But these were not places she could kiss on the show.
So where should she kiss her?
Shi Ning gazed at Su Tianxue’s profile. She was looking out the window, her face half-turned away, so her expression was unclear, leaving only her dark hair in Shi Ning’s sight.
Mm, Su Tianxue’s earlobes were also round. Shi Ning remembered she had a small black mole on her right earlobe. That mole was like some kind of special signal, a dot on a canvas of snow, or like a small, fragrant sesame seed, tempting Shi Ning to kiss it.
And her collarbones.
Su Tianxue’s collarbones were very defined. If you placed a few coins on them, they could definitely hold them up.
Hugging her from behind and lowering her head to kiss her collarbones was also something Shi Ning loved to do.
She wondered if Su Tianxue liked it.
As Shi Ning was lost in thought, her mind nearly taking flight, Su Tianxue called her name, pulling her back from that boundless world in an instant.
Shi Ning was afraid Su Tianxue would notice something was off. She knew that if Su Tianxue could read minds and see all the thoughts in her head, then... then Su Tianxue would probably open the car door right away and tell her to get out and scram.
“What are you thinking about?” Su Tianxue asked warily.
The woman’s gaze was simply too intense.
Even if Shi Ning didn’t say a word, didn’t do anything, even if they were sitting on opposite sides of the car with a distance between them, Su Tianxue could feel the heat in Shi Ning’s gaze.
It was as if, as if just by looking at her like that, this woman could devour her whole.
So strange.
To stop her from continuing to stare at her with that same naked gaze, Su Tianxue chose to interrupt Shi Ning’s thoughts.
Seeing the instantaneous shift in her expression, Su Tianxue became even more certain of her suspicion.
Shi Ning, that woman, had definitely been secretly thinking about something inappropriate just now.
Seeing that Shi Ning still wasn’t speaking, Su Tianxue asked again, “What were you thinking about just now?”
Shi Ning reined in her thoughts and looked at Su Tianxue calmly. “Guess?”
Su Tianxue: “...Childish.”
How old was this person?
In Shi Ning’s memory, an answer like “guess” was something a fifteen or sixteen-year-old girl would say.
Speaking of childishness.
Su Tianxue: “Shi Ning, there’s something I want to talk to you about.”
Seeing her formal tone, Shi Ning couldn’t maintain her nonchalant attitude anymore.
Like a student suddenly called on by the teacher in class, she sat up straight. “Go ahead.”
【Hahahahaha!】
【That reaction is exactly like me when I’m daydreaming in class and get called on.】
【And when you’re slacking off during a meeting and your boss suddenly calls your name lol】
【Am I the only one still wondering what Shi Ning was thinking about just now??】
【Don’t think about it, you silly goose. The way she looks at her is anything but innocent.】
Su Tianxue said helplessly, “Do you have to be like this with Wanxing?”
Shi Ning: “Huh? What did I do to her?”
Su Tianxue: “Don’t think I didn’t see your little tricks.”
Shi Ning: This sounds like I got caught slacking off in class by the teacher.
Shi Ning: “I’m suddenly realizing there’s a reason Zhu Yu calls you Teacher Su.”
Su Tianxue: “Are you changing the subject?”
Shi Ning: “No, I’m expressing my sincere admiration.”
Shi Ning looked at Su Tianxue. “I have a question. If Su Wanxing and I both fell into a river, who would you save?”
Su Tianxue: “...?”
【Sister Su: Are you serious?】
【Shi Ning: I must have this jealousy fit today.】
【On how to keep the peace when my wife and my sister are constantly bickering. Doge.jpg】
Shi Ning: “Just answer me.”
Su Tianxue retorted, “Before you asked that question, why didn’t you ask me if I can swim?”
Shi Ning: “Huh?”
Now it was Shi Ning’s turn to be bewildered.
What kind of move was this?
Shouldn’t a normal person be caught in a dilemma upon hearing this question, troubled and unsure how to answer?
Was Su Tianxue turning defense into offense?
It really proved the saying: the best defense is a good offense.
Shi Ning’s interest was piqued. She decided to play a game of words and logic with Su Tianxue for a while.
Shi Ning: “Well then, Wife, can you swim?”
Su Tianxue: “It’s too late to ask now.”
Shi Ning: “Hmm? How is it too late?”
Su Tianxue explained logically, “If you had asked me just now, it would have proven that I am your priority, that this matter came before confirming who is more important to me between you and Su Wanxing. Asking me now is just a matter of necessity.”
Shi Ning found it a little funny watching Su Tianxue say such things with a straight face and no negative emotion. This person had a very peculiar way of avoiding questions.
Even if you were going to learn to be petty like others, shouldn’t your lines and expression at least match? Who acts like this?
But, even if her acting was terrible, Shi Ning was willing to play along.
There were a million ways to steer the conversation back to the original topic, to fight for a win and get Su Tianxue to give her a satisfactory answer.
But Shi Ning didn’t do that.
She took Su Tianxue’s hand and drew a small circle in her palm. Her fingertip was light and gentle, and as she drew the circle, a soft, ticklish sensation appeared in the palm, as if a small snake under Su Tianxue’s skin had been summoned by Shi Ning’s fingertip and was wriggling its waist to swim along with it.
Swimming, swimming.
From Su Tianxue’s palm, it swam into her heart.
Shi Ning spoke, her voice laced with an indulgent smile. “Alright, Wife, I was being inconsiderate. From today on, I’ll absolutely put caring for my wife before anything else, okay?”
...
Su Tianxue wanted to look away.
When Shi Ning said that, the tenderness in her eyes was about to overflow and turn into smoky pink bubbles, enveloping her.
Noticing her evasion, Shi Ning gripped her wrist, her movement a little forceful, but her tone was coquettish. “Wife, don’t look away from me.”
“What I just said, do you think it’s a good idea?”
She had to have an answer.
This woman really had a way of being clingy.
Su Tianxue heard herself answer helplessly, “Okay.”
What else could she say?
Shi Ning pushed her luck again. “What about me?”
Su Tianxue tilted her head. “Hmm?”
Shi Ning: “Wife should care about me too.”
Shi Ning knew that Su Tianxue’s mouth was incapable of saying anything that would satisfy her. Or rather, if Su Tianxue could say it, she would think the person in front of her had been possessed.
But she just wanted to ask.
She observed Su Tianxue’s expression, and before she could speak, afraid she would say something she didn’t want to hear, she added, “Actually, in a situation where we both fall in the water, I can accept you saving Su Wanxing first. After all, I can swim too. I’m very good at it.”
“But, after I get ashore by myself, you have to remember to hug me.”
Shi Ning’s face held a playful smile, the few traces of probing and seriousness that no one else knew were all hidden in her teasing, ingratiating expression.
For some reason, Su Tianxue’s expression was a little distant, and her voice was very light when she spoke. “What are you thinking?”
She said.
What are you thinking?
Hearing those four words, Shi Ning’s heart was suddenly seized by a large hand, cutting off the blood supply. She thought, if Su Tianxue were to say something else that would upset her with that kissable mouth of hers, she might not be able to take it.
Those four words seemed to mock her for her wild fantasies.
But then Su Tianxue reached out, brushed the red hair that the wind had blown onto Shi Ning’s cheek, and chuckled softly. The smile was fleeting, just for an instant, like a fleeting glimpse of romance.
“I would save you first.”
Su Tianxue wasn’t smiling anymore, but in that instant, that momentary smile had been etched into the beat of Shi Ning’s heart.
She couldn’t tell if Su Tianxue was just acting to complete the task for the screen, or if she was being sincere. The only thing she knew for sure was that hearing Su Tianxue’s answer made her very happy.
It was as if someone was blowing bubbles inside her, pop, pop, pop, one after another, they all flew up. It made her whole being feel lighter.
Happiness was written all over Shi Ning’s face. She feigned a melancholic sigh. “If only I had a phone.”
Su Tianxue didn’t understand why she changed the subject so quickly. She tilted her head and looked at her in confusion. “What’s wrong?”
Shi Ning said smugly, “If I had a phone, I would have recorded what you just said.”
Su Tianxue: ...?
Was it necessary to be so dramatic?
Shi Ning: “And then send it to Su Wanxing!”
Su Tianxue: ........
【The eternally disharmonious relationship between sisters-in-law has appeared!】
【About My Annoying Sister-in-law!】
【Su Wanxing: You just have to be this petty, don’t you?】
The driver in the front seat heard their conversation and had a fond smile on his face. He snuck a peek in the rearview mirror and remarked, “You two have such a good relationship.”
Su Tianxue glanced back at the driver: How can you tell?
The driver said with a chuckle, “Seeing you two reminds me of when I was young.”
Su Tianxue didn’t respond, so Shi Ning picked up the conversation. “Sir, what about when you were young?”
Driver: “Back then, I was chasing my wife. My wife was the most beautiful girl in our university.”
Shi Ning interjected, “Was she as beautiful as my wife?”
Driver: “........”
【Even the driver doesn’t want to talk to you anymore!!!】
【Miss Shi, who is constantly showing off her wife, could you please restrain yourself a little?】
Shi Ning: “Sir, please continue. How did you win your wife over?”
Driver: “Me? I was just like you. I shamelessly sought her out every day, asking her to have lunch with me. That woman, although she didn’t talk much, you could tell she actually liked it.”
Shi Ning had a sudden realization and turned to ask Su Tianxue, “Wife, so does that mean you liked it when I was like that just now?”
Su Tianxue: “...Shut up.”
She felt that sometimes she shouldn’t be soft on Shi Ning, nor should she give her any slack.
This person was the classic type: give her an inch and she’ll take a mile.
If she yielded a single inch, Shi Ning would swagger a foot into her heart.
Hearing Su Tianxue say that, Shi Ning turned to complain to the driver. “Sir, you see? My wife is so fierce.”
The tips of Su Tianxue’s ears turned red. She reached out and pinched the soft flesh of Shi Ning’s waist.
Shi Ning sucked in a sharp breath.
The driver burst out laughing.
Ah, it’s great to be young.
His wife now only wanted to go square dancing every day; she didn’t even have the energy to scold him anymore.
The driver drove very smoothly, so smoothly that Shi Ning almost fell asleep.
She had been frightened during the escape room today, and her mental state wasn’t great. The excessive tension in the room had drained her energy prematurely. It was fine when she wasn’t in a car. But as soon as she was, her head felt groggy, her body swayed, and she desperately wanted to fall asleep.
Shi Ning had only intended to close her eyes and rest.
But somehow, she fell asleep.
She had been leaning against the left window, her head resting on the glass.
Su Tianxue didn’t plan to bother with her at first, but she saw her head nod forward several times, like a bell being struck...
She couldn’t let her continue like this.
Su Tianxue raised her hand and gently guided her to lean on her shoulder.
The driver saw this, a smile in his eyes.
When Shi Ning woke up, she had no idea what had just happened. Su Tianxue had already moved away and was opening the car door to get out. She was left sprawled on the back seat, blinking and yawning.
The driver laughed at her. “We’re here, we’re here.”
Shi Ning quickly sat up and said, “Thank you.”
Su Tianxue stood outside the car, holding the door open and looking at her.
Shi Ning complained in a small voice, “You didn’t even wait for me.”
Su Tianxue: “Are you not getting out?”
Shi Ning huffed. “You’re so heartless!”
The driver wanted to say something, but when he met Su Tianxue’s gaze, the words “she was taking care of you the whole way” died in his throat.
【Sister Su’s care is always in secret, waah!】
【Su Tianxue, I hate that you have a mouth but don’t use it.】
【If it were Shi Ning, she probably would have taken a picture for proof and then reminded Su Tianxue about what she did, hahaha!】
Shi Ning got out of the car and stood beside Su Tianxue.
Su Tianxue looked at the shopping mall in front of them.
She had heard from a junior at the research institute that this was a place frequented by the rich and powerful. A quick glance at the surrounding brand logos was enough to know that the prices of the goods inside were usually far beyond her means.
Su Tianxue pressed her lips together. “Are we buying clothes here?”
Shi Ning’s lips curved into a smile. “Of course.”
Mainly because, besides this place, she didn’t know any other locations where she could buy suitable clothes.
She put her hands in her pockets and tilted her head. “Shall we go in and have a look?”
Su Tianxue hummed in agreement and walked beside her.
The appearance of two stunningly beautiful women with completely different styles attracted a lot of attention.
Wherever they went, people would turn their heads and whisper.
“Damn, look at those two Alphas!”
“Ahhh, can I go ask for their contact information??”
“I’d be happy with either one of them as my wife.”
【Hahahaha! Sister! If you had watched the show, you wouldn’t be saying that!】
【Don’t even think about it. Neither of them will be your wife. They’re already taken by each other!】
【I suddenly really want to see the six members of the romance show cause a scene on the street. Why do I feel like that would be hilarious? Hhh】
Shi Ning was already used to this kind of situation.
It was, however, the first time Su Tianxue had received such intense attention.
Her expression grew colder, as if she wanted to use this method to distance herself from the gazes of others.
Shi Ning stopped in front of a luxury brand store.
Her gaze fell on a white, backless dress with a slit at the waist inside the store.
“Do you like that one?” she asked Su Tianxue.
Su Tianxue looked up. This dress was definitely not something she would normally wear. Her daily style was simple; the simpler, the better. This dress was too eye-catching, too ostentatious.
She was about to shake her head, but then she remembered the production team’s task.
The second wish Shi Ning had written down: wear high heels and a dress, and then kiss her.
Su Tianxue’s eyes flickered, and she hummed in agreement.
Shi Ning then led Su Tianxue inside.
The sales associate was a man, impeccably dressed. When he saw the two of them, he first greeted them enthusiastically, his discerning eyes discreetly scanning their outfits.
Shi Ning wasn’t wearing any major brand names, and Su Tianxue even less so.
Thinking this, the smile on the sales associate’s face became less genuine.
“What can I help you two with?”
Shi Ning’s goal was clear. She lifted her delicate chin. “That one, the white one.”
The sales associate said without hesitation, “I’m sorry, miss, that dress is a limited edition. We generally only sell it to our special clients.” He then looked Shi Ning and Su Tianxue up and down. “You may not be our target customers.”
Hearing this, Shi Ning immediately understood what the man meant.
She chuckled lightly. “Special clients? How special do we need to be?”
