DDT - Chapter 107

Chapter 107: Tycoon's Daughter (15)

Yi Shuhan stood a few steps away, arms crossed, seriously sizing up the girl in front of her.

Her skin was like cream, her beauty like a flower, and her figure was exquisite.

When Chi Junluo removed the last piece of clothing from her upper body, Yi Shuhan's mind went blank.

Fresh blood seeped from beneath the white gauze strips, while the strips themselves were stained with the dark brown of long-dried blood.

Had the wounds split open again?

Yi Shuhan opened the door, dashed downstairs, grabbed a rather large box, and dashed back up. The servants kept their heads down, attending to their duties without looking at what their young mistress was doing.

Entering the bedroom and locking the door behind her again, Yi Shuhan huffed and puffed as she carried the large box over to Chi Junluo, setting it on the floor beside her before opening it.

Chi Junluo remained silent. It wasn't until Yi Shuhan opened the box that she saw it was a well-stocked medical kit, clearly prepared by the Yi family. It even contained Western antibiotics and other such things. Most of the medicines inside weren't things you could easily buy at an ordinary clinic.

Yi Shuhan looked at the medical kit with a bit of a headache. Her two months of special training had focused on various skills, but not on Eastern or Western medicine. She had no intention of becoming a doctor; she had always believed that a doctor could only save a few people, whereas she wanted to save the people of the Dragon Kingdom from their suffering.

So, when it came to medical care, she had only learned basic first aid and bandaging.

In any case, the first step was to remove the soiled gauze strips from Ah Yan.

Yi Shuhan stood up and moved closer to Chi Junluo, examining her carefully, searching for the end of the gauze strip.

Chi Junluo held her breath, slightly nervous. The heroine was too close! They were both girls, so why was she feeling this way? It was as if her heart, her very emotions, were being pulled along by this heroine.

Sensing the faint, fresh scent coming from the heroine, Chi Junluo leaned back slightly. The distance was far too intimate.

But Yi Shuhan reached out with her left hand, grabbing Chi Junluo's shoulder, while her right hand reached behind her back. "Don't move," Yi Shuhan said, having found the knot in the gauze. With her left foot on the floor and her right knee on the bed beside Chi Junluo, she leaned her head over Chi Junluo's shoulder, staring at the knot as her slender right-hand fingers struggled to undo the tight fastening.

Chi Junluo's tactical lean-back had failed. The heroine was now even closer, practically pressing her whole body against her.

…Had the heroine forgotten she was covered in wounds? She was so heavy…

As the heroine fiddled with the gauze strips, Chi Junluo suddenly recalled a popular phrase from her original world: If you've been kidnapped, blink your eyes.

Finding it amusing, she blinked. Not that anyone could see, of course.

After a great deal of effort, Yi Shuhan finally managed to undo the terribly tight knot.

She took the end of the gauze and carefully began to unwind it from Chi Junluo's body, little by little.

The dried blood on the gauze caused it to stick to the skin and the wounds. Although Chi Junluo made no sound, Yi Shuhan keenly felt the body beneath her hands give a slight, reflexive shudder.

Yi Shuhan's heart ached as she unwrapped the gauze, and her movements became deliberately gentler.

Aside from the soft rustling of the bandages being removed, the bedroom was utterly silent.

Finally, she reached the last layer. The long gauze strip lay scattered on the floor. This final layer had practically fused with flesh and blood; one careless tug would surely tear open the wounds that were barely sealed by platelets.

Yi Shuhan simply took off her shoes, deftly climbed onto the bed, and knelt behind Chi Junluo, peeling away the gauze bit by bit.

Although she was being as careful as possible, she couldn't avoid causing some of the wounds to break open.

Once all the bandages were removed, Chi Junluo's injured body was fully revealed to Yi Shuhan.

Her back was a bloody mess. There were several large wounds that looked as if chunks of flesh were missing, along with cuts from sharp weapons and some old scars, likely from missions in previous years.

Chi Junluo's left arm was also covered in various scars, long and short. Her left wrist, in particular, seemed to have suffered a severe injury; the skin was a mangled mess of flesh and blood, its original appearance completely obscured. Naturally, Yi Shuhan didn't see what she had been hoping to see.

But this was no time for idle thoughts. Yi Shuhan knew that exposing such large wounds to the air was extremely dangerous. Her priority now was to help Ah Yan clean them.

The wounds covered such a large area that she hesitated. Chi Junluo was the first to stand up. With her back to Yi Shuhan, she said, "Cleaning the wounds here will dirty the bed. Let's go to the bathroom."

Yi Shuhan got off the bed and nodded in agreement. Then, remembering Ah Yan couldn't see her, she quickly hummed a few sounds of assent.

Chi Junluo walked to the bathroom and sat on the edge of the bathtub. Yi Shuhan carried the box and followed her into the bedroom's bathroom. Upon entering, she saw Chi Junluo sitting ramrod straight on the tub's edge, her back to the door.

Yi Shuhan had never seen such a prim and shy Ah Yan.

Placing the box beside the tub, Yi Shuhan was just starting to worry about how to clean the wounds when she saw Chi Junluo turn her head, reach out, and rummage through the medical kit. She pulled out a bottle of clear liquid. Yi Shuhan couldn't read the foreign words on the bottle, but Chi Junluo clearly could.

Over two months of special training had made Yi Shuhan trust her completely. So she grabbed the bottle, opened it deftly, and heard Chi Junluo instruct from in front of her, "Pour it directly onto the wounds, then wipe them with clean cotton balls."

The clear liquid looked harmless, but the moment it touched the blood and wounds, it made a faint hissing sound. Tiny white bubbles began to form continuously where the liquid soaked the injuries.

Yi Shuhan frowned. That medicine looked painful!

Using a pile of clean cotton balls, she cleaned up all the messy bloodstains on her back. The medicine quickly stopped the bleeding. Though the wounds still looked terrifying, it was much better than before.

Next were the wounds on her left arm and wrist.

Perhaps the pain receptors in the arm and wrist were more sensitive. This time, when the medicine was poured on, Chi Junluo's arm was visibly trembling.

Yi Shuhan silently took a deep breath and began cleaning the blood with cotton balls.

Finally, as she cleaned the wrist, Yi Shuhan felt something was off. "Ah Yan, how did your wrist get injured too?"

"Ah…" Chi Junluo paused for a moment. "I raised my hand to block some shrapnel. Otherwise, my face might have been ruined. Haha."

Chi Junluo forced out an explanation, adding a couple of awkward laughs in an attempt to lighten the mood. Unfortunately, Yi Shuhan was in a foul mood and had no patience for jokes from someone who didn't cherish her own body.

Seeing that Yi Shuhan wasn't responding, Chi Junluo raised a hand to touch her nose. After seeing that the wounds had all been cleaned, she rummaged through the medical kit again and found a box of mustard-yellow ointment.

When Yi Shuhan opened the ointment box, the smell made her recoil.

"Just apply this ointment to the wounds in clumps."

Yi Shuhan scooped up a dollop with her fingers, gently smeared it on Chi Junluo's wound, and spread it evenly. Then she scooped up another dollop, smeared it on, and spread it evenly.

Soon, Chi Junluo's body was patchily covered in the mustard-yellow gunk.

Now all that was left was to wrap the wounds with fresh gauze.

When everything was finally done, Yi Shuhan was covered in sweat. She sat beside Chi Junluo to rest, then saw her dig a ten-milliliter syringe and a small glass vial of liquid out of the medical kit.

She watched as Chi Junluo skillfully snapped open the top of the glass vial, unwrapped the syringe, drew the medicine into it with one hand, pushed out the air bubbles, and then jabbed the needle into her own thigh. She smoothly injected the liquid, pulled out the needle, and pressed a clean cotton ball to the spot—all in one fluid motion.

Yi Shuhan watched, dumbfounded.

"This is to prevent infection," Chi Junluo explained. She then stood up, gathered all the messy medical waste in the bathroom, wrapped it in the dirty clothes she had worn back from her mission, tied it into a knot, and placed it in a corner. "Find some time to dispose of this," she instructed. "Don't let anyone see it."

Yi Shuhan nodded in agreement. She was sticky all over and needed a shower to clean up; there was no way she could get into bed covered in sweat.

After all that medication and bandaging, Chi Junluo had already forgotten her rare bout of shyness. She watched as Yi Shuhan, not minding in the least, stripped completely naked right there in the bathroom. Seeing Yi Shuhan's questioning gaze, Chi Junluo gave up on her hope of seeing the heroine act shy.

Chi: So I'm the only one who gets to be shy! Hmph.

About half an hour later, Yi Shuhan emerged from the bathroom, freshly showered and fragrant. After drying herself off, she draped a dry towel over her head and walked out.

Then she saw Chi Junluo leaning against the headboard, calm and composed, gazing out the window.

It was now evening, and the sky was growing dark. The afterglow of the sunset fell upon her, giving her a strange, almost sacred aura.

Yi Shuhan shook her head to clear it of such strange thoughts. As she got closer, she asked in surprise, "Why are you wearing my clothes?"

Hearing this, Chi Junluo turned her head and said with a grin, "My clothes are in the guest room, and it's not convenient to streak over there to get them, so I borrowed yours. This one fits pretty well."

Yi Shuhan didn't think much of it. She plopped down on the bed and used the towel on her head to dry her hair.

At that moment, however, Chi Junluo was thinking of a famous quote from Ellie: "If you're going to go for excitement, you might as well go all the way."

She turned her head to look, then concluded that there probably wasn't any excitement to be pursued between her and the heroine.

If the Heavenly Dao were here to hear her thoughts, it would probably advise her not to tempt fate so soon.

Because Chi Junluo was injured, Yi Shuhan felt sorry for her and didn't want her running up and down the stairs. So, she simply had the servants bring dinner to the bedroom.

She even specifically asked the kitchen to make a restorative soup.

After dinner, Yi Shuhan clamored to hear about Chi Junluo's latest mission.

By the time Chi Junluo's mouth was dry and her eyelids were growing heavy, she decisively cut the story short. She had only meant to give a general overview of the mission, but the relentless heroine had pestered her into recounting many of the original body's past missions and experiences.

Chi Junluo shrank down into the blankets and closed her eyes, indicating that she was going to sleep.

Yi Shuhan blinked and confirmed, "Is Ah Yan going to sleep with me tonight?"

"Mhm… too lazy to go over there. Haven't seen you in a few days, let's just sleep together…" Her voice trailed off as she spoke.

Yi Shuhan snuggled into the blankets as well. Each with their own thoughts, they both secretly scooted a little closer to the other.

When their arms touched, the corners of their mouths both lifted into a faint smile, like a small scheme had succeeded.

The night grew deep and quiet.

Under the moonlight, a faint golden energy flowed between the two of them.
