PSW - Chapter 120

Chapter 120

After everyone had eaten and drunk their fill, they all leaned back in their seats to chat. Zheng Yi pulled Yu Yinan over to the sofa, took out a cup, and poured her some warm water.

The blush on Yu Yinan’s face had yet to fade. Slightly tipsy and drowsy, she accepted the small cup with both hands, obediently took a sip of warm water, and then gazed at Zheng Yi with glistening eyes.

“Is she drunk?” Zhu Lanyuan walked over, sized up Yu Yinan’s condition, and asked in a low voice, “Should I clear off the sofa so she can lie down and sleep for a bit?”

“No need to go to such trouble. We’ll be heading back soon.” Zheng Yi smiled. “Everyone’s had enough to eat, right?”

“Thanks to you, I’m afraid they’ve all stuffed themselves.” Zhu Lanyuan glanced back with a hint of helplessness at the people leaning in their seats. That Wu Dailing was even rubbing her round belly, completely disregarding her image. “I just hope they don’t throw up later.”

As the meal drew to a close and the atmosphere livened up, everyone had had at least a little to drink. Those who could hold their liquor were fine—they were either just slightly tipsy, looking no different than usual, or were sitting quietly digesting their food, occasionally chatting with those beside them. But as for those who were completely drunk?

Zhu Lanyuan watched Zhang Ruonan, who had one foot propped on the table and was now belting out a song, and for a moment, she was at a loss for words. In all the time they’d known each other, she never realized Zhang Ruonan could hit such high, powerful notes.

“I’ll go clean up a bit, and then I’ll… send them back one by one.” Zhu Lanyuan rubbed her ears, dismissing the idea of having Zheng Yi stay any longer. She paused, looking at Zheng Yi, emotions of gratitude and appreciation swirling in her eyes. She took a deep breath and said softly, “Today… thank you so much for coming.”

Amid the rising crescendo of shrieks and singing, Zhu Lanyuan’s voice was soft, yet just clear enough for Zheng Yi to hear.

“Actually… if you… if you wanted to… I would cooperate. No one would question you, as long as it was you. Everyone would believe in you unconditionally, accept you, and be willing to serve you…” Zhu Lanyuan had only whispered halfway through when Zheng Yi raised a hand, stopping her from continuing.

“The way things are now is fine,” Zheng Yi said. “Humanity’s Light Shelter is doing quite well. There’s no need to interfere with it and create unnecessary conflict.”

“Of course~ if I have to keep saving everyone in the future, then you can come believe in me then.”

Zhu Lanyuan gazed at her steadily, finally revealing a faint smile. She nodded. “I understand.”

“Then I won’t keep you. Feel free to leave whenever you like. I’ll… I’ll go clean up this mess.” With that, Zhu Lanyuan gave Zheng Yi a slight bow, then turned back to the dining table. She hauled Wu Dailing down from her seat, then waved over Qi Lingshu and a few other sober women. They first subdued the group of wildly excited drunks before slowly starting to clear the table.

Zheng Yi sat for a moment longer before deciding to take Yu Yinan and leave. After all, tears were welling up in Yu Yinan’s eyes, and Zheng Yi was quite sure she hadn’t done anything to upset her.

She bid farewell and left with Yu Yinan. Once outside the temporary housing, she let the cool night air blow over Yu Yinan to help her sober up a little. “Jiejie, you had some wine. Are you feeling unwell?”

“You were whispering with someone else, looking right into her eyes. It made me feel bad.” It was unclear whether Yu Yinan was truly drunk, but she voiced her thoughts with complete honesty and a touch of grievance. She stared directly at Zheng Yi with misty black eyes, like Go stones submerged in cool water.

“Oh, my. Jiejie is becoming… more and more domineering and unreasonable.” Zheng Yi chuckled softly. She took Yu Yinan’s hand, guiding it to her own eyes, her voice growing gentler still. “Then does Jiejie want to dig them out and hide them somewhere so no one else can see?”

“…No.” Yu Yinan gently caressed Zheng Yi’s cheek, as if entranced. Her fingertips lightly covered Zheng Yi’s eyelids as she whispered, “I could never bear to.”

After saying this, as if afraid Zheng Yi wouldn’t believe her, she added, “I’m not drunk.”

But judging by her current state, she looked anything but sober. Her added comment only made her seem more like she was protesting too much.

Zheng Yi just smiled and didn’t argue with her. She simply hummed in acknowledgment, took Yu Yinan’s hand, and led her into the residential building, heading home.

Perhaps because she was drunk, Yu Yinan was being extremely obedient. When Zheng Yi silently pulled her along, she followed her meekly, step for step, without another word or any sign of resistance.

They walked like that until they reached their door. When Zheng Yi let go to get her key, Yu Yinan’s lips immediately formed a pout, and she pressed herself against Zheng Yi’s back, wrapping her arms around her waist.

Zheng Yi calmly opened the door and pulled Yu Yinan inside with her. She reached back to close it, but Yu Yinan, still clinging to her, showed no signs of letting go. She just buried her face in Zheng Yi’s shoulder, her breathing muffled, not making a sound.

“What’s wrong, Jiejie?”

“…Nothing,” Yu Yinan’s voice was muffled. She nuzzled her head against Zheng Yi’s neck in a gesture that could only be described as coquettish.

She just didn’t want to let go.

Yu Yinan couldn’t help but tighten her grip. For a fleeting moment, she wanted to hold Zheng Yi even tighter, so that no one could ever separate them. She wished she could embed her own flesh and blood into Zheng Yi’s body, to become one with her.

A somewhat helpless expression appeared on Zheng Yi’s face, but her eyes remained gentle. She chuckled lightly and said, “You’re hurting me.”

“…” Yu Yinan immediately loosened her grip, even though she felt that with her strength, she couldn’t possibly hurt Zheng Yi. But since Zheng Yi said so… whether she was joking or lying, Yu Yinan couldn’t help but believe her. She loosely wrapped her arms around Zheng Yi, greedily nuzzling the tip of her nose behind Zheng Yi’s ear, and couldn’t resist giving her neck a light bite. “I’m drunk…”

Yu Yinan suddenly changed her tune. Her whole body seemed to grow softer, as if she were being completely melted by the small amount of alcohol. She rubbed against Zheng Yi, held onto Zheng Yi, and her voice dropped even lower. “Can you help me bathe?” Yu Yinan paused, then suddenly laughed. “Little sister~”

She must be truly drunk.

Zheng Yi raised an eyebrow slightly at this form of address. She pulled Yu Yinan around in front of her, then freed a hand to take out the capsule and set up the shower room.

“If only you were really my little sister… That way, even if they favored you… it would be normal… I-I would favor you too.”

[…Yu Yinan’s fantasies are pretty wild, huh?] Zero One, who had been observing the whole time, finally couldn’t help but comment on Yu Yinan’s drunken nonsense.

Zheng Yi didn’t comment on this. Fundamentally, for Zheng Yi, there was nothing in this world that could restrain her.

Zero One was about to say something else when it was suddenly confined to the dark room. Just as it was reeling in confusion, wondering what had happened, Yu Yinan staggered to her feet in front of Zheng Yi and began to undress.

“Weren’t you going to… help me? Why aren’t you… undressing?”

“Jiejie, are you really drunk, or is this something else?” Zheng Yi raised a hand to touch Yu Yinan’s burning cheek. She was all too familiar with the fire of desire burning in the other woman’s eyes.

Ha, there was no need to pursue an answer to that kind of question.

She raised her hand and pulled off her hair tie, quickly tossing her jacket onto the sofa. Then, she slowly and deliberately began to unbutton her shirt, starting from the top button at the collar and working her way down…

Yu Yinan staggered into the shower. The water temperature should have been comfortable, but Yu Yinan turned it to ice-cold, letting the chilly water pour down over her head. Her body was still flushed pink. Even though the water was cold, when it hit her skin, steam quickly rose in the shower, making everything hazy.

She clenched her fist tightly, then cupped some cold water and splashed it fiercely on her face, trying to sober herself up a little.

“Turn the temperature up a bit.” Zheng Yi walked in slowly. She raised a hand to gather her hair and smooth it back. Only after Yu Yinan had adjusted the water temperature did she move closer. The rushing water poured down, striking their skin.

Yu Yinan pressed herself against the cool wall, staring blankly through the thick steam. The tips of her ears grew redder. As her expression shifted, she bit her lip and took a step toward Zheng Yi. “Zheng Yi…”

She was still the most devout believer. She called out in a low voice and, under Zheng Yi’s gaze, knelt down on the cold floor, which was being pounded by the shower stream. Her long black hair fell straight down with the flow of water. Yu Yinan raised her head slightly, but she couldn’t see Zheng Yi’s expression through the curtain of water. She tried to move closer. “C-Can I?”

“You really are… bold, Jiejie.” Yu Yinan couldn’t see Zheng Yi’s expression, but the reply was definitely accompanied by a light laugh. Her heart settled a little, and she moved even closer, just in time to hear Zheng Yi ask softly, “Have you been planning this for a long time?”

“I-I-” Yu Yinan’s eyes widened. She wanted to explain, but the moment she opened her mouth, it was filled with water. She wanted to say more, but a hand gently pressed down on her head, fingers threading lightly through her hair, and Yu Yinan said no more.

She closed her eyes, as if she had truly become a little puppy. She sniffed, nuzzled, licked, touched, felt… every inch of skin, its texture and temperature, every bit of softness and the slight shiver. She was soaked to the bone, as if she had returned to that night of heavy rain. But this time, there was none of the searing pain that felt like death by a thousand cuts, only a tenderness she wanted to grasp with all her might.

At certain moments, Yu Yinan felt that even if she were to drown right here, it would be worth it.

Her breathing grew hotter, and with each exhale, she could feel the fingers in her hair tightening slightly.

“Cough, cough cough…” Yu Yinan accidentally choked. Water from the showerhead had even gone up her nose. She began to cough uncontrollably, losing her composure, her eyes turning red from trying to suppress it. But just then, Zheng Yi reached up and turned off the shower. The water stopped pouring down on them, but she didn’t pull Yu Yinan up. Instead, she gave her a gentle push that made her fall into a sitting position on the floor. Then she moved closer, took Yu Yinan’s chin in her hand, and kissed her.

Water dripped continuously from their soaking wet hair, but neither Zheng Yi nor Yu Yinan paid any mind to their drenched state.

“Jiejie, you’ll have to~ practice more in the future.”

“…” Yu Yinan was silent for a moment. She panted softly, trying to steady her breathing before she spoke. “I… will work hard.”

She bit her lip, which seemed to glisten with a watery sheen. Her gaze darted away as she stammered in a low voice, “C-can… can we… go to the bed?”
