Offense - Chapter 35
Chapter 35
Lian Wan, however, was frowning.
Zhou Yanqian looked up at her. Those beautiful eyes, damp with steam, were looking down at her, revealing a thoroughly pitiably stubborn look beneath her tightly furrowed brow.
Zhou Yanqian felt as if that gaze was going to melt her into the steam.
Lian Wan looked at her like this for a long while before asking in a low voice, "What do you mean?"
Her voice was low and hoarse, sounding especially strained in the humid bathroom. But her gaze was hot, focused. She kept looking at her, watching until the chill on their skin gradually faded. The gentle summer night's breeze drifted by the window, carrying the faint scent of plants. Zhou Yanqian turned her face away slightly, belatedly feeling a little embarrassed.
But the feeling of merging in that instant was no illusion. Lian Wan's hand reached up, pinched her chin, and tightened its grip. Zhou Yanqian's body tensed as well. The tiles behind her were ice-cold, but her face was burning. Even her gaze trembled uncomfortably, which, to the person opposite her, looked like she was avoiding the subject.
"Sister..." Lian Wan called her softly.
"What's wrong with you?" Zhou Yanqian vaguely guessed her intention, but still had to ask.
Lian Wan's gaze fell upon her. The light was dim and yellow, and the shadows of branches from outside the window were cast inside. The slanted branches made the entire self-evident situation seem movingly beautiful. She didn't know what was wrong with her either. She paused, speechless, only silently caressing the woman's warm earlobe and jaw with the pad of her thumb. As she remained silent, Zhou Yanqian raised a hand to touch her face. Her chest rose and fell slightly, and Lian Wan's gaze followed the movement, burning into a vast expanse of fire.
The woman's palm was scalding hot, and her tone held a hint of indulgence. "Not satisfied? I've already let you... what more do you want me to do to love you?"
As soon as these words left her mouth, even the light seemed to flicker slightly.
Lian Wan froze, then immediately wanted to turn her head to check if the door and window were properly closed, but she restrained herself and stopped. The woman in her arms caught the movement. She heard Zhou Yanqian let out a very, very soft laugh, a laugh that almost made her drown in it.
She looked at her again- Lian Wan thought, how could she say that?
How could she speak so casually?
Subconsciously, however, Lian Wan felt annoyed. She lowered her eyes, looking down into Zhou Yanqian's shimmering, watery eyes, which clearly reflected her own silent expression. There was no difference in the sparkle of those eyes from the first time they met. Before them, Lian Wan had nowhere to hide, forced to recognize all her own unspeakable desires. But Zhou Yanqian was still indulgent, captivating. At this moment, Lian Wan suddenly despised Zhou Yanqian's unchanging indulgence. Indulgence was a privilege Zhou Yanqian bestowed upon her; it had been this way from the very beginning. At the start of their acquaintance, Zhou Yanqian had used permissiveness and patience to nurture her desire, a desire that was then casually taken back, to be completely manipulated by her once more.
She had tied a rope around her neck. When she pulled it with composure, Lian Wan couldn't help but walk toward her.
Just like now.
Zhou Yanqian was still asking, "I said I love you. Why don't you say you love me too?"
Her tone was coquettish as she draped her arms over Lian Wan's neck, circling it with a bit of force. She was pulling that rope again. That composure she'd had from start to finish returned to her, as if the question of love had only made her dazed for a moment. Talking about feelings was too easy for her. But Lian Wan was completely inexperienced; she could only rely on the desire that came from Zhou Yanqian to clamor silently, and even that wasn't enough.
Not enough... not enough... Lian Wan covered her eyes, feeling Zhou Yanqian's eyelashes brush against her palm. It tickled, like the unconscious lick of a small animal. In a kiss like this, she felt a little dazed, as if she were reliving everything that had just happened all over again: desire, love, the rope, and the woman's gently fluttering eyelashes in her palm.
Finally, she lowered her hand, letting Zhou Yanqian hold her, and leaned against Zhou Yanqian's shoulder.
A quiet fragrance, like a gentle spring breeze and rain, lingered on a strand of her hair.
Lian Wan remained silent, just leaning on her shoulder, but the gesture was intimate- a rare intimacy. Zhou Yanqian relaxed a little, her lips curling into a smile involuntarily. She reached out to stroke her face, scratching her chin twice as if teasing a dog. "Be good. Sister likes you."
It felt good to be coaxed by Zhou Yanqian. Lian Wan had discovered this from the first time they met.
A wave of warmth surged in her heart because of this sentence, and the breath she had been holding in all this time was suddenly released. The warmth was so distinct; perhaps it came from Zhou Yanqian's body heat, or perhaps from her own satisfaction. All of it was good.
The woman's arms still circled her neck, firm and gentle. She gave her a full and naked embrace.
Lian Wan looked straight at her, seeing that Zhou Yanqian was also starting to find it difficult to figure out what she was thinking. The person before her was a living, breathing human being- taciturn, someone who had lived on her own since graduating high school, with experiences completely opposite to Zhou Yanqian's. She had asked around about her, but she still couldn't completely gain the upper hand in their interactions. Knowing oneself doesn't mean knowing the other, and vice versa. Lian Wan wasn't actually exactly as she had imagined, but Zhou Yanqian felt satisfied.
The thought of falling in love with Lian Wan was so simple. From the first moment she saw her, she had wanted to get closer to her. Every modern person carries a lock on them. Zhou Yanqian had originally wanted to return to this town to remove her lock, but now, it had opened by itself from the inside.
Stinky dog. Zhou Yanqian thought to herself.
She gently rubbed the back of her head, making Lian Wan straighten up. Once they were face to face, the base of Lian Wan's ears began to burn again. Zhou Yanqian liked seeing her force herself to stay calm while getting close. She leaned forward, wanting to give her a kiss, but then she remembered her earlier silence and just wrinkled her nose and bit her lip very lightly.
Lian Wan froze, looking at her innocently with wide eyes.
"You're so annoying," Zhou Yanqian accused her openly. "I've said everything, done everything, told you everything, and you're still so tight-lipped. If you don't need your mouth, you can donate it to someone who does."
She pinched her face. "So silly. What's the use of being good-looking? I'm the only one who would want you."
Lian Wan pressed her lips together, hearing her continue, "If you don't behave, you won't get anything to eat."
The woman's tone was playfully reproachful; she wasn't actually blaming her.
Lian Wan had always known.
She reached out and hugged the person in front of her tightly.
Her palms pressed against Zhou Yanqian's naked back. Her shoulder blades were like a butterfly's wings, poised for flight, yet trapped in her embrace.
Zhou Yanqian stopped talking, just pressing against her quietly with the rise and fall of her breath. The water in the bathroom was no longer running, but her heart was flowing.
"I will," Lian Wan said softly, her voice a little nasal. "I'll be good... I will love you."
"Okay," Zhou Yanqian said. She felt them both gradually coming to life. "I accept- so will you help me get dressed?"
