Chapter 166: Immortal Venerable × Meow Meow Cat (21)
The person and the cat stared at each other, stunned. Chi Junluo thought to herself that she had previously assumed her arrival had caused some problem with this world. It turned out she had simply been fooled by the acting of that worthless senior brother of hers—the male lead of this world.
A leopard can't change its spots, indeed.
The little cat, Chi Junluo, ground her teeth viciously, making no effort to hide the hostility in her gaze as she glared at the recently lovestruck-looking Yun Qian.
In the mind of Yun Qian, Crown Prince of the Demon Realm, the Peak Master of Qingyun Peak, Immortal Venerable Qingyun, was the woman he had set his sights on. She was his designated future Demon Empress, and he would not allow any person or creature to possess what was his.
He carefully sized up the small, pitch-black head peeking out from his master's collar. It was likely the cub of some unknown cat demon. Because black cats were taboo in the human realm and considered symbols of misfortune, they had been deliberately hunted for thousands of years. Black cats and black cat demons were now virtually extinct in the human world. For a black cat demon cub of unknown origin to suddenly appear in human territory, completely defying logic, and to be coincidentally picked up by his master… no matter how he thought about it, something was wrong. Interrupted by this little thing's sudden appearance, the flames of desire that had just begun to stir within Yun Qian were instantly extinguished.
He didn't care if it was a cat, a dog, or some human child in distress. No one was allowed to divert his master's attention. He had been willing to harm the junior sister his master had accepted, to say nothing of this impertinent demon cub before him.
Yun Qian cast another contemptuous glance at the fiercely glaring kitten. He thought to himself that killing a newborn cub like this, one that hadn't even managed to condense its demonic energy, would be as easy as turning over his hand. In any case, that woman, Immortal Venerable Qingyun, could easily abandon a human child she had personally saved to the Xianyun Pavilion outside the sect, ignoring it completely because it wasn't what she needed. This was just a demon cub she had saved on a whim. He could use any simple spell to kill it without a trace. He was already plotting how to get rid of this beast.
Taking advantage of their excellent positions, the demon and the cat glared at each other from a place others couldn't see. If looks could kill, the air between them would surely be crackling with lightning, neither willing to back down.
Seeing the malice in the eyes of that worthless senior brother, the world's designated male lead, Chi Junluo thought that this world's Heavenly Dao must be blind. The more she looked at this male lead, the more of an eyesore he became. All his vicious thoughts were written plainly on his face. He thought he was facing a mere cub and let his guard down, foolishly planning to make a move on her while coveting her wife. This was truly intolerable. Chi Junluo bared her fangs and extended a small paw, revealing claws that glinted with a silver light.
Evidently, having reverted to her original form, Chi Junluo's personality and behavior were affected to some extent. The Heavenly Dao, E Feng, floated serenely in Chi Junluo's sea of consciousness, munching on melon seeds and waiting for the show to begin.
After an unknown amount of time, Immortal Venerable Qingyun finally finished repairing the seal. She gently carried the quiet and motionless little black cat demon cub out from the seal, took a few steps back, and carefully inspected its condition. Yun Qian stared wide-eyed at Immortal Venerable Qingyun's well-proportioned figure, which was turned sideways to him, wishing he was the one in her arms at that moment.
Once the inspection was complete, Immortal Venerable Qingyun waved her hand to set up two small defensive arrays. Only then did she turn to face her eldest disciple, who had been waiting for some time.
Yun Qian swallowed, restraining himself. Years of honing his acting skills ensured that his face, which had been twisted with anger moments before, now showed no trace of unnaturalness. He bowed his head slightly in reverence. "Master."
Immortal Venerable Qingyun nodded. She didn't think much of her disciple having tracked her all the way here. After so many years together, she trusted him implicitly.
After instructing the disciples on guard duty about some precautions regarding the seal and leaving them some life-saving talismans, she finally took Yun Qian and flew on her sword toward the central city of the Southern Xuan Kingdom.
They hadn't been flying for long when Chi Junluo felt the increasingly intense, probing gaze of the moronic male lead. Chi Junluo turned her head and met Yun Qian's venomous stare. Fearing that his intense gaze would be noticed by Immortal Venerable Qingyun, Yun Qian rolled his eyes and looked away. Chi-the-cat couldn't stand such provocations and gently ground her teeth.
When Yun Qian shifted his gaze back again, this is what he saw.
The little black kitten had, at some point, turned around inside the collar. It tilted its head up and nuzzled Immortal Venerable Qingyun's neck a few times, then shot him a sidelong glance before lowering its head and extending a tiny, pink tongue to leisurely lick her straight, white collarbone.
Seeing the little beast act so brazenly toward the woman he desired, Yun Qian was instantly consumed by a raging fire of anger and turmoil, nearly losing his balance and falling off his flying sword. He clenched his fists so tightly that his veins bulged.
Immortal Venerable Qingyun, however, did not notice her disciple's abnormality. Her entire attention was drawn to the sensation on her collarbone, which felt like a gentle stream of warm water. She had lived for a thousand years, cultivating diligently all that time, and had never had such direct, intimate contact with anyone. An indescribable tingling numbness spread from her collarbone. She pressed her lips together slightly, suppressing the strange and unfamiliar feeling. Sensing that the cub was still lapping at her collarbone, she thought it might be hungry. But she didn't have any beast milk suitable for a cub right now; she would have to wait until they reached the city to feed it.
Immortal Venerable Qingyun reached out and gently pressed down on the little cat's head, moving it away from her neck. Her intention was to signal the little cat demon to stop fidgeting, but because her mind was slightly unsettled by the strange sensation from before, she used a bit too much force and pushed Chi-the-cat directly into the cleavage beneath her collar.
Suddenly plunged into darkness and forced to bury her face in a chest, Chi-the-cat was bewildered: ??? Meow meow meow???
Yun Qian, who had been secretly watching the kitten's every move: ?!!!
Yun Qian's eyes widened with shock and anger, looking as if they were about to pop out of their sockets. The woman he desired was being taken advantage of by a stinking cub like this? He, Yun Qian, had followed this woman for so many years and had never even touched her jade-like hand! He had never been in such close contact with her! He was so shocked his head felt like it was about to fly off, and he forgot to avert his gaze, staring fixedly at the bulge in Immortal Venerable Qingyun's collar.
Immortal Venerable Qingyun's mind was in a state of confused turmoil, and she completely failed to notice the transgressive gaze from beside her.
As for Chi-the-cat, her head was nestled in a warm, fragrant softness. With every breath, she inhaled the familiar scent of her heroine. It had been a long time since Chi Junluo had been so intimate with her Yi Shuhan. In this world, her original body's cat-like instincts made her unconsciously extend her two front paws and press down on the two peaks before her.
Immortal Venerable Qingyun, who had been lost in thought and flying her sword with a vacant gaze, was abruptly pulled back to her senses by the rhythmic pressure on a certain part of her upper body that Jinjiang wouldn't allow to be described: ???
Her hand, which was still resting on Chi Junluo's little cat head, instantly froze. That extremely sensitive part of her body, which Jinjiang forbade detailed descriptions of, was being pressed again and again by the small beast's paws through the thin fabric of her clothes. No, it would be more accurate to say that, before this moment, she had no idea that this indescribable part of her body was so sensitive. She had previously dismissed the faint sensation of the cub rubbing against her chest as a mere illusion.
The stimulation from the two small paws kneading with moderate pressure nearly made her legs, the legs of a mighty Nascent Soul cultivator, go weak. She struggled to steady her flying sword and promptly used her spiritual energy to support her legs, preventing any outward sign of abnormality. The stimulation to her peaks made her hand tremble slightly, and even her breathing, which remained steady even in battle, now grew a little heavier. Chi-the-cat, her little head pressed against her heroine's heart, heard the gradually quickening heartbeat and felt a surge of pride. Even as a small kitten, she was the only one who could stir her heroine's passion. As for that dog of a male lead with his ridiculous status, any mutt who coveted her lover could just scram.
Given Immortal Venerable Qingyun's usual temperament, if any person or creature had taken such liberties with her, they would have been thrown away with a flick of her hand, ending up severely injured, if not dead. But this time, despite the very wrong sensations in her body, she continued to indulge the demon cub's impudent actions. She even felt a familiar feeling breaking through from the depths of her soul, a faint desire for the little kitten not to stop, to keep going.
Immortal Venerable Qingyun maintained a calm expression and continued to fly her sword at a steady pace. Yun Qian stared at her collar with a somewhat dazed look, his mind a chaotic mess. Neither of them noticed the other's strange state.
Chi Junluo nostalgically kneaded the two large mountains covered by a thin layer of vegetation for a while, but saw no reaction from her heroine. The heartbeat that had quickened just moments ago had returned to its normal rhythm.
??? Has my heroine lost interest in me, Chi-the-cat?
Can love really just disappear???
Chi Junluo's world was dark, but she could feel that her heroine wasn't repulsed by her actions, nor was she reacting. She couldn't help but feel a pang of old jealousy. If some other random cat or dog did this to her, would her heroine also be so unresponsive and unbothered?!
The more Chi Junluo thought about it, the angrier she became, so angry she just wanted to meow furiously. It seemed this thin layer of light armor was blocking her heroine's sensations. Chi Junluo didn't know that this light armor, as a high-quality and highly spiritual magical artifact, was as tough as a bronze wall against threatening attacks, providing excellent defense. But in non-threatening situations, the armor was no different from ordinary undergarments. This was the marvel of a top-grade immortal artifact.
The jealous Chi-the-cat decided to take a drastic step. She turned her head, opened her small mouth, and abruptly latched onto the indescribable peak of her heroine. The light armor, having no intention of protecting its owner, yielded softly and did not block the cub's sudden "attack."
The bewildered heroine's expression changed in an instant. A flash of silvery-white electricity lit up her sea of consciousness, as if something had exploded in her mind. Just before an uncontrollable sound escaped her lips, she seemed to realize the impropriety and instantly circulated her magical power to quickly erect a barrier.
Hearing her heroine's familiar, breathy moan from above her head, Chi Junluo flicked her fluffy tail in triumph. She subconsciously suckled a couple more times through the defenseless light armor. Before she could properly savor the marshmallow-like texture in her mouth, she was lifted out of the collar by a slightly feverish jade hand gripping the scruff of her neck. She came face-to-face with her heroine's flushed face and watery, yet gloomy, eyes.
Meanwhile, Yun Qian, who had been lost in a sulk, suddenly noticed that the woman flying at a steady pace beside him had abruptly accelerated, vanishing from his sight in an instant.
The dumbfounded Yun Qian: ???
