DDT - Chapter 27

Chapter 27: School Tyrant × The Pushover (4)

A week had passed since she saved the unlucky heroine. During that time, the heroine, Yi Shuhan, had come to return the jacket. Although Chi Junluo had left in a hurry that day and forgotten to tell Yi Shuhan which class she was in, her reputation at school was so immense that Yi Shuhan had no trouble finding out her classroom from her deskmate.

The deskmate stared at the model student Yi Shuhan in horror, unable to understand how she had gotten tangled up with the campus tyrant, one of the biggest figures at Qingshui High. With a heartbroken expression, the deskmate earnestly warned her, "Shuhan, listen to your sister here, you have to learn to protect yourself when you're out and about! Did Sister Chi threaten you? Should I go with you?"

Three black lines appeared on Yi Shuhan's forehead. This deskmate of hers wasn't the sharpest when it came to academics, but her imagination ran wild when it came to gossip.

Waving her hand to refuse her deskmate's kind offer, Yi Shuhan picked up the paper bag containing Chi Junluo's jacket and walked out of the classroom.

Watching Yi Shuhan's resolute departing figure, the deskmate couldn't help but shed a tear. Her dear, sweet deskmate Yi Shuhan was doing this for her! She knew that if she went along, she'd be nothing but a snack for Sister Chi, so she chose to face the deep-sea leviathan all by herself!

Ah! My sister! My deskmate! Shuhan! Go! I will sing praises of you forever!

Of course, Yi Shuhan had no idea what was going through her deskmate's head. When she arrived at the entrance to Chi Junluo's classroom, she stopped a student and politely said she was looking for someone.

Seeing how pure, pretty, and polite Yi Shuhan was, the student blushed slightly and, mimicking her courteous manner, asked who she was looking for.

"Hi, I'm looking for Chi Junluo. Thanks!" Yi Shuhan stated Chi Junluo's name without any hesitation.

But she watched as the student's face visibly drained of color, going from red to pale white.

"Sister Chi is sleeping… It's not convenient for me to wake her. I have something to do, I'm leaving…" The student looked as if he'd seen a ghost. He stammered out a few words and hurried away.

A beautiful, unfamiliar girl had appeared at their classroom door, standing there with modesty and grace. She was a truly stunning sight! In just a moment, she had already captured the attention of most of the students in the class.

Seeing that this pretty girl was actually looking for the campus tyrant, Chi Junluo, many felt a flicker of doubt. A few of the more dramatic boys even let out theatrical sighs.

Of all the people this little lady could be looking for, why did it have to be the great boss Chi Junluo, who was always catching up on sleep at her desk at this time of day? Everyone knew that Sister Chi's waking-up anger was legendary. Twice, the class monitor—that poor girl—had been sent by a teacher to pass a message to Chi Junluo. Lacking foresight, the monitor had shaken the dazed, soundly sleeping Chi Junluo awake, and then… the volcano erupted.

She was truly a pitiful girl. The young lady had been scared to tears by Chi Junluo on the spot. Her sobbing made the boys' hearts melt, and they all silently blamed Chi Junluo for being such a blockhead, completely devoid of any tenderness for the fairer sex. But they only dared to complain in their hearts; none of them would ever say it out loud, unless they had a death wish.

Ever since then, whenever Chi Junluo was napping, no one dared to cross that line, fearing they would be the next to get burned.

And now, this pretty little girl, clearly a newborn calf unafraid of the tiger, was standing innocently at the classroom door, her big, watery eyes peering inside.

It was decided! No matter what kind of history this pretty girl had with Chi Junluo, for the sake of that face, the boys would save her from Sister Chi's clutches. More than a dozen boys in the class secretly made up their minds.

While Yi Shuhan had won over the boys, some of the girls were displeased. This girl had popped up out of nowhere and completely stolen their thunder. Girls at this age were prone to jealousy, especially at Qingshui High. Most of them looked down on the "pure school beauty" persona, uniformly believing that these innocent-looking girls were just putting on an act and were actually despicable underneath.

One of the leading girls was the very same class monitor who had been scared to tears by Chi Junluo. She had always held a grudge against Chi Junluo. On a normal day, despite hating her, she still had to respectfully call her Sister Chi, which annoyed the monitor to no end. Now, seeing some clueless little girl dare to come looking for Sister Chi alone, it was obvious she didn't know about Sister Chi's habits or her infamous waking-up anger.

The monitor spoke in a gentle voice, "Excuse me, are you looking for Sister Chi? She's in the last row of the first group, by the window. You can't see her from here. It's okay, Qingshui High is one big family. Our class doesn't mind students from other classes coming in. Just go right in and find her. Don't worry, the students won't say anything. I'm the class monitor, after all!" There was a strange, persuasive quality in the monitor's words that made people want to believe her.

Yi Shuhan didn't see anything wrong. It was true to her nature; she was kind-hearted and rarely assumed ill intent in others. After hearing the monitor's words, Yi Shuhan thanked her, hesitated for a moment, and then stepped inside.

The boys' eyes were glued to the lovely girl, their feet poised, ready to play the hero and save the damsel in distress.

Yi Shuhan walked into the classroom and, sure enough, saw Chi Junluo slumped over in the last row, fast asleep. She walked toward her.

A few girls quietly gasped.

Yi Shuhan gently nudged Chi Junluo's shoulder. "Chi Junluo." There was no response.

Yi Shuhan applied more force, practically shaking her now.

Following her character's script, Chi Junluo was sleeping soundly when she suddenly felt the world shake violently. She shot up in a panic. Crap! Was it an earthquake?!

Seeing Chi Junluo sit up in alarm, most of the girls prepared to watch the show. If they had popcorn, they would have happily started munching.

Chi Junluo's vision was a bit blurry. It took a few seconds to adjust. "Shuhan?" Seeing the pretty, ponytailed girl standing before her, Chi Junluo was completely bewildered.

"This is the jacket you lent me before. I had Auntie Wang wash it, dry it, and give it a conditioning treatment. I'm bringing it back to you now." Yi Shuhan's voice was filled with delight. She had specifically instructed Auntie Wang to take good care of this piece of clothing! ╯^╰ Puts hands on hips.

Chi Junluo: …This was a damn school uniform, and the heroine actually had it professionally maintained?! The evils of the filthy rich!

Not noticing Chi Junluo's inner turmoil, Yi Shuhan thanked her again earnestly. "I'm really grateful. You should come over to my house to hang out sometime!"

Chi Junluo stared, dumbfounded, at Yi Shuhan's beautiful smile. For some reason, she wanted to agree to any and every request she made.

Watching the two of them chatting and laughing in the back of the classroom, the boys and girls of the class stared with wide eyes! This was the School Tyrant! The cool, aloof, and incredibly strong School Tyrant! And she had been captured by a pretty girl just like that!

What the hell! What happened to the indiscriminate waking-up anger?! This was the first time they learned that waking-up anger was dependent on looks!

Having gracefully returned the jacket, Yi Shuhan departed, her good deed done. She floated out of Chi Junluo's classroom, leaving behind a trail of broken hearts and shattered souls.

On Friday evening, after school let out, Chi Junluo had originally planned to go straight home and sleep. But the Heavenly Dao suddenly reminded her that before she arrived in this world, the original owner of this body had challenged the school tyrant from the rival No. 3 Middle School over the district rankings. She had issued a formal challenge for a fight this Friday night in the small alley next to Baolong Plaza, where they would have a "fight to the death"!

Chi Junluo: So Shamate! So non-mainstream! Can I refuse?

Heavenly Dao: No! You can't refuse. If you refuse and don't go, you'll be breaking character. The moment you slip up, this world's Heavenly Dao will notice you, and then you'll be squeezed out of this world like a pimple!

Chi Junluo: Ugh! That's disgusting! Can you find a more elegant metaphor next time?

Heavenly Dao: Well… squeezed out like a blackhead???

Chi Junluo indicated that she didn't want to listen to the Heavenly Dao's nonsense and threw a piece of poop at it.

The Heavenly Dao, having been splattered in the face by an unknown object in the sea of consciousness: ???

In the end, to stay and collect the Power of the Heavenly Dao and form a contract with the heroine's soul fragment, Chi Junluo had no choice but to reluctantly go to the fight.

She sent out a mass text message from her phone and quickly summoned a large group of underlings. Chi Junluo nodded at them with satisfaction, maintained her cool and aloof demeanor, and led her followers in a grand procession toward Baolong Plaza.

As the sky gradually darkened, the small alley was packed with a disorderly crowd, split into two factions.

On one side was the ruling gang of Qingshui High, led by the girl, Chi Junluo. On the other side were the losers from No. 3 Middle School, led by a boy.

That's right, losers. Like Qingshui High, No. 3 Middle School was a trash-tier school. The only difference was that Qingshui High was private, while No. 3 was public. Solely because of its "public school" title, No. 3 always considered itself superior to Qingshui High. In Chi Junluo's eyes, however, it was just the pot calling the kettle black.

As for why Chi Junluo thought the people opposite her were losers? She watched as the boys across from her wore tight-fitting leather pants and sported long hair that had been permed in every way imaginable—straightened, exploded—with every strand defying gravity. Their hair was dyed a myriad of colors, as if an entire paint palette had been overturned on their heads. Many of them had a dozen or so ear piercings, looking as if they wanted to get rid of their ears entirely. Some even had nose and lip rings, with huge metal hoops hanging from their faces…

An indescribable expression appeared on Chi Junluo's face.

"Heavenly Dao, do I really have to fight this… this whole Shamate, non-mainstream, angsty-teen, wash-cut-and-blow-dry clan?!" Chi Junluo roared in her sea of consciousness.

Heavenly Dao: I'm sorry, my dear Chi Chi. I know this is hard for you. How about… you fight with your eyes closed!

Chi Junluo: (メ`[]´)!!!
