DDT - Chapter 25

Chapter 25: School Tyrant × The Pushover (2)

"BANG, BANG, BANG!!!"

"BANG, BANG, BANG!!!"

Chi Junluo slammed her fists against the wooden bathroom door.

Finally, the girl leading the group inside couldn't take it anymore. She roared at the door, "Who the fuck is so shameless! Can't you see your big sister is busy? If you need the bathroom, piss off downstairs! Keep knocking and I'll kill your mom!"

"Are you tired of living?! Daring to interrupt our big sister's business! Believe it or not, we'll waste you in minutes!" another girl in a miniskirt chimed in, emboldened by their numbers in the bathroom.

"Don't stop. Keep splashing her for me. If she doesn't strip off those clothes today, she won't be leaving here on her own two feet!" The lead girl turned her head, signaling for the others to continue.

Receiving the order, the girls turned the mop sink faucet on full blast. They held a basin under the gushing water. Before it was even half full, they strode over to Yi Shuhan, who had fallen and was cornered against the wall. The other girls took two steps back, afraid the icy early-spring water would splash onto them.

With a splash, half a basin of ice-cold water drenched Yi Shuhan from head to toe.

Yi Shuhan shivered from the cold. If I just stay quiet and endure it, she thought, just endure it a little longer, this will all be over!

If I can just hold on, they'll lose interest and let me go!

Just like they had for the past two years.

More than once, Yi Shuhan had regretted choosing this notoriously bad school. For the first two years, things had been relatively peaceful. The girls in her class were just jealous of her looks, jealous that she had so many male admirers, and jealous that she was a good student who captured the teachers' attention. Occasionally, these girls would throw her books in the trash after school, or stuff bugs and garbage into her desk.

At first, the girls were discreet. But as time went on and Yi Shuhan remained silent, never telling her parents, who in turn never came to the school to complain to the teachers, they grew bolder. They began to bully her openly, uniting many of the girls in the class to ostracize her.

High school girls are at an age where they're just starting to care about their appearance. Most of the girls at Qingshui High were delinquents who didn't care about studying. They had rebellious personalities and dressed flamboyantly. So when they saw someone as pure and beautiful as Yi Shuhan, a classic school beauty, they felt particularly resentful. Ostracizing her seemed to be the natural course of action.

Yi Shuhan's parents were away from home year-round, leaving only Auntie Wang, the housekeeper who cooked her meals.

When the girls' behavior was at its worst, she had called her parents. The other end of the line was clearly busy, likely at some important dinner party. The background noise was deafening. Choking back sobs, Yi Shuhan told her mother what was happening at school, trying to ask for help. She felt so wronged, and she was afraid her mother couldn't hear her clearly over the phone, so she spoke loudly.

There was a moment of silence on the other end before her mother replied, "Shuhan, this is the path you chose. Even if you have to crawl, you will finish it for me. When things happen, look for the cause in yourself first. Don't push the blame onto others."

Then, the line went dead with a dial tone.

So cold.

It was the first time Yi Shuhan had truly acknowledged her parents' indifference. She had never once felt a shred of care or warmth from them.

For as long as she could remember, all she ever saw was money. Only during the Spring Festival each year would her parents come home for New Year's Eve dinner, their demeanor as cold and detached as if they were performing a routine chore.

She was probably the only one who cherished that day so deeply.

When it came to closeness, she was probably closer to Auntie Wang, who had cooked for her for over a decade, than to her own parents.

After that call, Yi Shuhan completely gave up on communicating with her parents. Perhaps all that was left between them was a monetary transaction. They gave her money to keep her alive. And as long as she stayed alive, she could become a tool for them to use in the future.

Screw that! Who wants to be a tool!

Yi Shuhan made up her mind. She would study even harder, get into a university a million miles away, become independent as quickly as possible, and never set foot in this house again.

But right now, she still needed help.

So, after a tall, handsome boy stopped her to confess his feelings, Yi Shuhan asked him seriously, "If you can do me a favor, I might consider saying yes."

Yi Shuhan had rejected many boys before, and this one had only approached her with the attitude of just giving it a shot. He never expected that he might actually succeed!

The boy readily agreed. Yi Shuhan asked him to find some people to intimidate the girls in her class, to get them to stop bothering her.

But unexpectedly, the boy didn't come to school the next day. He was later transferred by his family. The rumor was that he had been beaten up and hospitalized. His parents demanded compensation and then, fearing retaliation, moved their entire family away.

The girls did quiet down for a while, probably because they had to pay compensation and were disciplined by their families. But soon, nasty rumors began to spread around the school, saying that Yi Shuhan from Class A of the second year was a fake innocent who toyed with boys' feelings, causing someone to transfer because of her. They called her a jinx, and some even claimed she'd had plastic surgery.

One can imagine what a devastating blow these terrible rumors were to Yi Shuhan. From then on, the boys who didn't know the truth dared not approach her, afraid they too would get into trouble.

This period of peace lasted for nearly half a year, to the point that even Yi Shuhan had almost forgotten the trouble these girls had caused her.

Until a few days ago, a girl in her class bought a fashion magazine and was shocked to discover that the logo of a luxury brand—one they could barely even name—was identical to the logo on Yi Shuhan's clothes! A single piece from this brand cost thousands, if not tens of thousands. To be honest, they were green with envy. They never imagined that in a school for commoners like Qingshui High, someone could afford luxury brands, and they had only just found out as they were about to graduate!

And so, the girls, who hadn't stirred up trouble in a long time, followed Yi Shuhan to the bathroom after class. They cornered her inside, cleared everyone else out, and locked the door from the inside.

That led to the scene of them splashing water on her in the bathroom.

They wanted to ruin her clothes, to make her never dare to wear such expensive things again!

Yi Shuhan was completely bewildered. Her clothes were all sent from abroad by her parents, who had Auntie Wang take her measurements.

She had worn them her whole life, and this was the first time she had ever heard of the brand. She had no idea how expensive her clothes were, nor did she understand why these girls harbored such crazed malice toward her.

She huddled in the corner, telling herself, Just endure it, just endure it a little longer, and it will be over soon! I can leave this place soon! Soon! Soon!

Someone outside was relentlessly pounding on the door—"BANG, BANG, BANG"—and a flicker of hope ignited in Yi Shuhan's heart. But after the lead girl, Wang Yun, shouted a few curses at the door, the noise outside stopped.

The spark of hope flickered, about to die out. Right, Yi Shuhan thought mockingly, who would be willing to get involved in this mess for a complete stranger?

"Another piece of trash who doesn't know their place." Wang Yun turned back around. Seeing Yi Shuhan staring at the door, she flew into a rage. "Fucking idiot, what are you looking at? A ghost? Don't think anyone's coming to save you, you slut. This is the girls' bathroom; no boys are coming here."

"So young, yet you've already mastered the art of seducing men," the venomous words dripped from Wang Yun's mouth.

Yi Shuhan silently chanted in her mind, Block it out, block it out, block it out.

Suddenly, a loud "BAM!" erupted from the door, startling everyone. The girl who was filling the basin fumbled, and with a splash, all the water spilled onto her own pants.

"I'll fuck your mother!" the girl exploded in fury. "Who the hell is looking for death!"

Before anyone could react, there was another loud "BAM!" The door was kicked open by the person outside. The lock flew off and slammed hard into the arm of Wang Yun, who was standing nearby. Wang Yun cried out in pain.

Yi Shuhan looked up in shock. A tall figure, backlit by the light from the hallway, walked in. It was a beautiful girl with short hair.

Wang Yun clutched her arm and squatted on the ground, hissing in pain. Without even looking up, she started spouting off, "Fuck! Who the hell gave you the nerve! Xiao Tong, Xiao Lan, get her!"

She waited a few seconds, but her friends didn't move. Instead, a pair of clean white sneakers came into her view.

Fearing a kick, Wang Yun scrambled to her feet and took two steps back. In a daze, she saw the terrified expression on Xiao Tong's face. Just as Wang Yun steadied herself and was about to unleash a torrent of curses, she looked up and froze.

What was that big boss doing here?!

"Chi… Sister Chi!" Wang Yun stammered, her voice filled with dread. All her bravado instantly deflated.

The person standing before her was no simple character! At Qingshui High, you could get away with not knowing the principal's name, or even the school prince or beauty's name, but there was one name that was thunderously famous, a name everyone knew. She was the one and only, notoriously infamous School Tyrant of Qingshui High—Chi Junluo!

Everyone called her Sister Chi!

A good girl like Yi Shuhan, who kept her head down and buried herself in her studies, might not know what Chi Junluo looked like, but even she had heard of Chi Junluo's formidable reputation from her classmates.

A stampede of ten thousand grass mud horses galloped through Wang Yun's mind. She was a delinquent, sure. She had her own little gang, sure. She fought and bullied people, sure. But for fuck's sake! None of that was even worth mentioning in front of the great Chi Junluo! This was the real deal, the campus tyrant who led her underlings into frequent brawls with delinquents from other schools! You could even call her the tyrant of the entire district! Her followers were everywhere, inside and outside the school. She was the kind of terrifying existence who could make everyone tremble just by stomping her foot!

Aaaah! Why would this big boss come to the fourth-floor bathroom at this bizarre time! Class just started!

Wang Yun was on the verge of a mental breakdown.

Chi Junluo crossed her arms, coldly observing the group of delinquents who were trembling in fear just from the sight of her.

"Chi… Sister Chi, s-sorry for disturbing your bathroom break. W-we'll, we'll be going now!" Wang Yun stammered, her words catching in her throat.

With that, she began to shuffle away, trying to leave.

"Who were you cursing at just now?" Chi Junluo, arms still crossed, shifted her position to block the doorway.

"I, we were cursing… cursing ourselves. Yes, ourselves." Wang Yun didn't dare admit they had been cursing the person who kicked down the door—Chi Junluo.

"Did I say you could leave? Hmm?" Chi Junluo pushed the door shut behind her and leaned against it lazily. "How about this? You can all take a nice cold shower right here in front of me."
