Chapter 10

Chapter 10

Qin Zhen scanned the surroundings and saw Wen Jian, a grown man, sitting hunched over on the edge of the sofa at the other end, looking miserable. His face was bruised and swollen, appearing particularly frightening. His mother was applying medicine to him with a look of heartache.

On the coffee table, separated by a distance, lay a bloody tooth, resting on a piece of white cloth.

Wen Changshun sat beside them, fuming.

Seeing this scene, Qin Zhen's expression didn't change in the slightest. She calmly turned back to look at the young lady who had publicly declared she would "convince by virtue."

She knew Wen Shixue would come looking for Wen Jian, and she believed that if Wen Shixue said she would "convince by virtue," she would indeed "convince by virtue." However, she hadn't expected her to be so ruthless—if she had arrived a little later, Wen Jian's entire set of pearly white teeth might have been smashed by her.

No wonder Wen Changshun looked terrifying, like he wanted to devour someone.

Qin Zhen was here to wrap things up and take Wen Shixue away. Her tone was normal, calm, indifferent, and without any bias: "President Wen, did you do this?"

Wen Shixue bit into a french fry and looked at her with her pure, innocent apricot eyes. Before she could say a word, the beaten Wen Jian spoke up first, full of grievance: "She did it! Look what she did to this young master, she knocked out a tooth, it hurts so much!"

Wen Jian knew who he should play the victim to. Wen Shixue didn't listen to Wen Changshun, and Wen Lianchang and Meng Yuezhu were not in the country, having entrusted her to Qin Zhen for guidance and care. So, the person who could control her now was Qin Zhen. By complaining more to Qin Zhen, Qin Zhen might soften and perhaps say a few good words for him to Wen Lianchang later.

Moreover, if he could get Qin Zhen, who represented Wen Lianchang's stance, to side with them, that would be even better.

Upon hearing this, Qin Zhen turned to look at him, her calm, unruffled eyes reflecting his embarrassed appearance. She opened her lips and asked, word by word, "Young Master Wen, why didn't you heed the warning?"

Wen Jian paused.

Qin Zhen's tone was level, but every word sounded aggressive to Wen Jian: "Young Master Wen should have known what President Wen said at the board meeting long ago, and he should also be clear about what he himself did." She glanced at him calmly, her tone unhurried, "If you didn't know, then you can ask your father why he didn't tell you."

Wen Shixue bit on her cola straw, raising an eyebrow, her face full of "learned something, learned something."

For such a big matter, if Wen Changshun hadn't told Wen Jian, then it was Wen Changshun's fault. If Wen Jian knew about this matter and still dared to act maliciously, then he was provoking the dignity of Wen Shixue, the future heir of the Wen Corporation, showing no regard for her, nor for Wen Lianchang who made the decision.

In that case, Wen Shixue keeping her word and taking action to clean house was also reasonable and proper.

In her words, Qin Zhen had distanced Wen Shixue from the matter and stated her own position.

Although Wen Jian was a bit foolish, he wasn't so foolish as to not understand the meaning behind her words. He was filled with resentment, but Wen Changshun spoke before him, casting a sharp gaze at Qin Zhen: "Alright, Qin Zhen, are you now condoning her assault?"

Qin Zhen calmly met his unfriendly gaze: "Then are you now condoning Young Master Wen's provocation of President Wen and Chairman Wen?"

Her words landed lightly, like a giant axe, instantly splitting the large living room into two camps. Wen Changshun and Qin Zhen were like two fierce tigers entrenched in their territories, staring at each other with imposing auras, unwilling to back down, causing the situation to reach a stalemate, so oppressive it was hard to breathe.

No one dared to speak, only the sound of Wen Shixue biting her french fries, crisp and abrupt, seemed out of place, like a child who had wandered into the adult world.

She looked at Qin Zhen's figure, upright, resolute, strong, and full of reliability. In that instant, she suddenly understood why Wen Lianchang trusted Qin Zhen—Qin Zhen was strong enough.

If it were someone else standing before Wen Changshun, they might have been scared by Wen Changshun's status into telling her to bow her head and admit her mistake to her elder, let alone defending her dignity and position?

After a long while, Wen Changshun sneered: "Things haven't been settled yet, and you're already rushing to curry favor. Aren't you a bit too impatient?"

"What does 'things haven't been settled yet' mean?" Wen Shixue asked, feigning innocence. "Does that mean Second Uncle, you also want to get beaten?"

Wen Shixue: "Then Second Uncle, don't worry, I've always respected the old and cherished the young. For you, I'll definitely use the best stick!"

"You!" Wen Changshun was choked with anger.

Angry as Wen Changshun was, he had to admit that after Wen Shixue's scene today, he had indeed given up the idea of taking action.

Wen Shixue was uncontrollable and someone who kept her word. The fact that she could find out what Wen Jian did showed she had some capability. If he were to clash with her now, Wen Shixue might not show mercy just because he was an elder. She might even use the tactic of killing the chicken to scare the monkeys, showing all the shareholders that Wen Shixue dared to lay hands on her own family, let alone outsiders?

Scared, truly scared.

How did his Wen family produce such a troublemaker!

...

Wen Shixue tossed the cola cup into the trash can, turned around, and looked at Qin Zhen leaning against the car door, smiling: "Thank you, Vice President Qin, for making a special trip."

She had behaved much better after Qin Zhen arrived. If she had taken action in front of Qin Zhen, it would have been too disrespectful to Qin Zhen.

Qin Zhen crossed her arms, staring intently at her: "You really knocked out his tooth?"

"Not me!" Wen Shixue said innocently, "My bodyguard did it!"

Qin Zhen: "..."

That still counts as you doing it!

Qin Zhen was truly impressed by her. She actually brought bodyguards to someone's house to beat them up. Beating them was one thing, giving them a lesson would have been enough, but she didn't expect her to knock out a tooth directly. Where did this fearless ruthlessness come from? Was it really the confidence given by Wen Lianchang and the others?

"I will report this matter to Chairman Wen," Qin Zhen said.

Wen Shixue shrugged, not afraid at all. If she were afraid, she wouldn't have done it.

Qin Zhen asked: "What do you plan to do about Miss Lin?"

"Nothing," Wen Shixue said. "I'm not close to her, there's no need to interfere in her dating life. If I can't develop her into a client, I'll just find another one."

There were thousands of clients, why hang oneself on one tree? It wasn't like Wen Shixue didn't have her own circle.

Qin Zhen took this opportunity to say: "You can continue to consider client groups that have promotional value, such as celebrities. The publicity traffic they bring is very considerable."

Inviting well-known celebrities to endorse the company could serve as promotion and also showcase the company's taste and level. The bigger the celebrity endorser, the more customers would feel the brand was high-end.

Wen Shixue nodded, thinking Qin Zhen's suggestion was very reasonable, but she didn't have any immediate ideas about which celebrity to invite for endorsement, so she had to postpone this plan and go home to sleep and rest her hand first.

Action and reaction were mutual; she hit Wen Jian, and her hand still hurt!

Qin Zhen watched her secretly rub her palm and found it amusing. She said, "Next time, pay attention to the scale. One tooth is enough, any more is too much."

One tooth was enough to serve as a lesson, making them remember that this was not an ordinary, easy-to-provoke president. If she went too far, she was afraid she wouldn't be able to cover for her.

Qin Zhen looked at her hand and added, "If you brought bodyguards, don't do it yourself."

She even hurt herself, it wasn't worth it.

Wen Shixue, having been caught rubbing her hand, simply rubbed it openly and said righteously, "Hitting it myself is different from having someone else hit it."

"What's the difference?" Qin Zhen asked.

Wen Shixue: "The difference between watching it feel good and hitting it feeling good."

Qin Zhen: "..."

That's really not necessary.

...

The next day, the morning breeze was gentle. Wen Shixue turned off the incessantly ringing alarm clock, obediently got up to wash, eat breakfast, and then drove to work.

As soon as she arrived at Chenfeng, Qin Zhen informed her that Chenfeng had received an order from a famous actress, who had specifically requested Zhu Ziming for the design.

Wen Shixue raised an eyebrow, thinking: As expected, the male lead's charm is really strong, he can even attract clients like this.

She looked at the other party's name and was stunned when she saw the three words "Jiang Manwei," because—

This was the female lead's name.
