IVYSCP - Chapter 93

Chapter 93

After the matter with Yu Liuli, no one in Lingxu Immortal Palace dared to bring it up again.

Ying Ying tilted her head and looked at Chi Que.

Why would she ask about this?

Chi Que raised an eyebrow at her.

I told you she's Ling Qingyue.

Ying Ying rolled her eyes at her.

You really have a problem.

Chi Que: "..."

Ling Qingyue watched the two across from her exchanging meaningful glances, curious if they actually understood what the other was thinking, or if they were relying on telepathic transmission. But there was no spiritual energy fluctuation from either of them.

Thinking this, Ling Qingyue turned to look at Pei Yin beside her and blinked slowly twice.

A hint of confusion appeared in Pei Yin's eyes.

Ling Qingyue withdrew her gaze.

Well, she and Pei Yin hadn't yet reached the point of mutual understanding where they knew what the other was thinking at any given moment.

Ying Ying cleared her throat and asked tentatively, "Why is Elder Ah Xi asking about this?"

Ling Qingyue propped her chin on one hand and answered casually, "Just a little curious."

Clearly this reason wasn't very convincing. Ying Ying smiled faintly, lowered her eyes, and sipped her tea.

Ling Qingyue shifted her gaze to Chi Que.

Although one of them was from Lingxu Immortal Palace and the other from Wushi Sect, Ling Qingyue had always felt those two were thick as thieves.

Chi Que definitely knew something about the Yu Liuli matter too.

Their gazes met, and then Ling Qingyue formed a sword gesture with her fingers and traced two strokes on the table as if nothing was happening. Chi Que looked down.

It was a sword move. For a sword cultivator who practiced swordsmanship diligently, recognizing it wasn't difficult.

Chi Que's gaze snapped up and locked onto her intensely.

She had admitted it.

Ling Qingyue gave her a slight smile.

Then Chi Que broke the momentary silence: "We don't know much about what happened with Yu Liuli."

Ying Ying's eyes widened as she stared at her, and under the table she directly kicked her.

Chi Que grunted in pain and said in a low voice, "Trust me, she really is."

Ying Ying was about to retort, but on second thought, Chi Que had said it repeatedly and wouldn't be messing around as a joke.

But how could it be? Ling Qingyue's soul lamp had gone out, she'd been dead for a hundred years, how could she suddenly be back...

Ying Ying looked hesitantly at the person across from her and said uncertainly, "Are you..."

"Are you Ling Qingyue?"

Ling Qingyue shook her head and denied it: "I'm not."

Ying Ying immediately turned and glared at Chi Que.

See! She said she's not!

Chi Que closed her eyes in exasperation.

Ling Qingyue laughed at the sight and leaned happily against Pei Yin, saying, "They're still just like before. Really entertaining."

Ying Ying heard this and turned her head slowly to look at her.

Before?

"We're going to the Great Wilderness." Ling Qingyue didn't beat around the bush and stated it plainly.

When she decided to go to the Great Wilderness, Ling Qingyue had already thought about seeking out Yu Liuli. She hadn't expected to run into Ying Ying and Chi Que at Xuanyao Pass, which was perfect for asking about what happened back then.

Ying Ying and Chi Que looked shocked, but after realizing that "we" referred to her and the Immortal Venerable, they quickly calmed down.

Ying Ying looked at Ling Qingyue with a complicated expression, then glanced at the Immortal Venerable, practically with question marks floating above her head.

Huh???

When they were studying at Shangtianqiong, those two couldn't stand each other. How did they suddenly... become Dao Companions.

"Go on," Pei Yin said mildly.

Ying Ying suppressed her overwhelming curiosity and sighed as she thought of her cousin: "My cousin has a withdrawn temperament. After the Immortal-Demon War, when her two good friends, Hidden Moon Lord Yue Shouming and Ling..."

Ying Ying paused in her words and glanced at the person across from her, then corrected herself: "After something happened to her two good friends, she shut herself away. She would only see people when Hidden Moon Lord came, and would say a few words then. Later, at some unknown point, someone else appeared in her courtyard. My mother just wanted her to be a little happier and didn't ask too many questions. But who could have known that at the Three Thousand Gathering, Qiu Feng accidentally ran into the Sword Venerable and was exposed as a half-human half-demon. The Sword Venerable wanted to execute Qiu Feng on the spot, but Cousin Liuli fought desperately to protect her, saying that if they wanted to kill her they'd have to kill her too. My mother and Hidden Moon Lord also argued strenuously at the side, and the Sword Venerable finally relented, banishing Qiu Feng and Cousin Liuli together to the Great Wilderness."

Ling Qingyue asked doubtfully, "How did Liuli and Qiu Feng meet anyway?"

From what Ying Ying said, Liuli never went out. Qiu Feng couldn't have just appeared out of thin air in her courtyard.

Ying Ying shook her head at the question: "I don't know."

This was probably something only Yu Liuli herself could answer.

Ling Qingyue nodded.

They didn't actually know much, about the same as what Pei Yin had said.

Back when the various immortal sects were holding lectures, if she and Yue Shouming hadn't been so thick-skinned, forcibly dragging Yu Liuli into friendship, taking her along no matter what they did or where they went, Yu Liuli probably would never have voluntarily befriended anyone. Left alone in a corner, she'd probably grow mushrooms.

A hint of sorrow welled up in Ling Qingyue's heart.

A place like the Great Wilderness, who knew if Yu Liuli could...

After learning they needed spirit stones, Ying Ying very readily had a shop under Lingxu Immortal Palace's name deliver a million spirit stones.

Ling Qingyue gaped in astonishment.

Pei Yin considerately propped her chin up to close her mouth, while calmly accepting the Qiankun Pouch containing the million spirit stones.

Ling Qingyue chased after her asking, "Did you sell Little Cangshan to Ying Ying? Does Senior Chu know? Won't she beat you?"

Pei Yin looked back with some confusion: "Do I look like the sort of person who would sell Little Cangshan?"

Ling Qingyue looked at her silently.

Who knows? That gift list back then was worth half of Little Cangshan. Senior Chu nearly got an illness from it.

Pei Yin: "..."

"Ying Ying didn't ask for anything."

"Didn't ask?" Ling Qingyue was even more surprised. "These spirit stones were just given to us for free?"

Pei Yin nodded, reached out and pulled the person over to sit on her lap: "Although you didn't directly admit your identity, they both understand. They saw the earlier friction between Piaomiao Sect and Shangtianqiong, which you instigated. You've come back to life but didn't return to Shangtianqiong, instead becoming a Piaomiao Sect elder and opposing Shangtianqiong at every turn. They would certainly think more on it. Ying Ying doing this counts as taking sides."

"Taking sides? So she's standing on my side?" Ling Qingyue pursed her lips in a smile, a little smug. "She trusts me that much."

Pei Yin said quietly, "Shangtianqiong may be powerful now, but it's already stirred dissatisfaction among the various immortal sects. Lingxu Immortal Palace and Wushi Sect rank below it and have to hide their own edge. Now there's someone who might be able to change the situation, and they're naturally willing to lend a hand."

Ling Qingyue's brow furrowed. She cupped Pei Yin's face and looked at her, her eyes narrowing dangerously: "What do you mean, saying Ying Ying isn't siding with me out of trust, but had no other choice and is taking a risky gamble."

The cheek under her palm was warm and smooth. Running her fingertips over it was like playing with fine jade, but the bright red lips gave that cool jade a hint of allure. On a sudden impulse, Ling Qingyue lowered her head and nuzzled against those cool soft lips, then bit lightly at the lower lip. In a low breathy voice she said, "It doesn't matter if she doesn't trust me, you..."

"Trust."

Pei Yin tilted her head up and kissed her against the lips, cutting off the rest of her words.

Ling Qingyue's waist was held tight, pressed against the woman's abdomen, their bodies inseparable for a moment.

Lips and tongues tangled together, one retreating as the other advanced, one advancing as the other retreated, teasing each other with practiced ease.

Before long, uneven breathing filled the room. Ling Qingyue's cheeks were flushed from the kissing, her lashes damp. She pressed against Pei Yin's shoulder and pulled her head back to catch her breath.

"Why so fierce?" Ling Qingyue asked, suppressing her embarrassment.

Usually when Pei Yin kissed her it was mostly gentle and tender. Just now, kissing only a short while, her lips and the base of her tongue were slightly numb, showing how forceful Pei Yin had been.

"When Ying Ying and Chi Que were here, you looked at me several times." Pei Yin spoke while leaning in to peck at the corner of her mouth. "I'm not sure whether what I thought was right."

The moist kisses reached her chin, then traveled down her neck. Ling Qingyue closed her eyes in comfort, her palm rubbing through the hair at the back of Pei Yin's head. "What did you think?"

Pei Yin's hand settled over her heart, pressing lightly then firmly, her voice muffled against her chest: "I thought, you were testing whether I knew what you were thinking at those moments. Whether we could, like those two, understand what the other was saying just through a look."

Ling Qingyue gave a light "tsk" because Pei Yin had suddenly bitten her, then after biting held and sucked.

"You... your thinking..." Ling Qingyue's words came in fragments.

Pei Yin continued: "I think that kind of mutual understanding probably requires two people to be a bit more intimate with each other to achieve. What do you think?"

"Mm..." Ling Qingyue let out a low moan, murmuring helplessly, "Close, close enough already."

Ling Qingyue remained silent.

As Ling Qingyue watched, her chest rose and fell even more heavily.

Ling Qingyue looked down at her, damp fingers clutching at the collar and pulling hard, messing up the Immortal Venerable's neat clothes before answering with a smile: "I like this better."

The two kissed, and Pei Yin picked her up and headed for the bed. Ling Qingyue hooked her legs around the woman's waist, arms wrapped around her neck holding tight.

In a daze, Ling Qingyue lifted her head slightly and saw Pei Yin kneeling, one hand holding her ankle, kissing gently along her ankle bone and calf.

When the moist lips kissed up, Ling Qingyue caught her breath, unable to resist meeting and returning the kiss, that cool, pure aura wrapping around her completely.

"Hand."

Ling Qingyue heard Pei Yin speak and, with almost no thought, lifted her hand and offered it.

Two hands gripped tight, leaving faint red finger marks on the backs of each other's hands, answering the drenched sounds of kissing and the rising and falling gasps and low moans.

Ling Qingyue's voice gradually took on a tearful edge, a bit urgent and aggrieved. She turned her head aside and buried it in the bedding, gripping Pei Yin's hand even tighter.

Her waist trembled violently, then dropped back sharply.

As Ling Qingyue recovered, she felt herself being held, fine kisses falling on her temple, her cheek, then the corner of her lips.

Ling Qingyue turned over and buried herself in the woman's embrace, nuzzling.

"So tired."
