ISBH - Chapter 18

Chapter 18: Miracle

Mo Sheng could not bear to spend money on the bus and walked for half an hour to Wang Zhi's house.

After what had happened the day before, when Mo Sheng went out Han Tian assumed she would be yanked into the air by Mo Sheng just the same, so she did not move and sat lazily on the floor...

Yet to Han Tian's surprise, Mo Sheng had been gone for several minutes and Han Tian still had not been pulled along...

Han Tian realized once again that she was trapped within about ten meters centered on the house.

What was going on?

Han Tian knitted her brows tightly.

Mo Sheng naturally noticed that Han Tian had not followed her.

Mo Sheng pressed her lips together.

This time she would very likely still be bullied by Wang Zhi.

The female ghost would surely be unable to stand watching her get bullied, and then she might start crying again...

Thinking it over, Mo Sheng even felt it was better that the female ghost had not come along.

In any case the female ghost had already drawn up a plan for her, and Mo Sheng was confident she could handle this tutoring task.

Wang Zhi's family lived in a small two story building. The outside looked very new, clearly renovated not long ago.

Mo Sheng knocked on the door. Before she had knocked twice, a woman came yawning to open it. When she saw Mo Sheng, she frowned visibly. "Where did this little beggar come from? Go away, go away..."

"I'm Wang Zhi's classmate. I came to tutor Wang Zhi..." Mo Sheng said in a low voice.

Mo Sheng had met Wang Zhi's father Wang Qiang. Wang Qiang always wore a smiling face and looked extremely kind.

But after seeing Wang Zhi's mother, Mo Sheng knew exactly where Wang Zhi had inherited her fiery temper from.

After hearing where Mo Sheng had come from, Wang Zhi's mother still frowned. She stared at Mo Sheng's tattered shoes and seemed unwilling to let her in. It was only after Wang Zhi came out of her room with sleepy eyes and asked Mo Sheng, "Little ugly freak, why did you come so early..." that Wang Zhi's mother let Mo Sheng into the house.

Most people would scold their child for being so rude, yet Wang Zhi's mother said nothing.

The room was tiled with newly bought tiles. Wang Zhi's mother tossed Mo Sheng a pair of disposable slippers. "Zhizhi's room is on the first floor. Go straight into her room in a bit. Take the slippers out with you when you leave. Don't touch things all over the place..."

"Auntie," Mo Sheng lowered her head and called out to Wang Zhi's mother, who was about to turn and leave.

"What else do you want?" Wang Zhi's mother looked over with impatience written all over her face.

"I've never tutored anyone before," Mo Sheng said with complete frankness. "Why don't you stay nearby and watch, Auntie! You can give me some suggestions too."

This was the idea Han Tian had come up with for Mo Sheng the night before.

No matter what kind of parent was in Wang Zhi's family, as long as they were not too awful, with a parent watching, Wang Zhi would naturally not dare to hit anyone in private.

Mo Sheng's attitude was extremely sincere. Wang Zhi's mother glanced at Mo Sheng, her brows furrowing as if she were carefully considering the suggestion...

Wang Zhi suddenly became clever at that moment and glanced impatiently at her mother. "Mom, why would you come stare at me while I study?"

It would have been better if Wang Zhi had kept quiet. The moment she spoke, Wang Zhi's mother grew suspicious, afraid Wang Zhi would refuse to study properly like the last few times or even slip out, so she decided on the spot. "You two go into the room first. I'll come over in a bit..."

Wang Zhi's face fell at once.

"Little ugly freak, I didn't expect you to be so scheming." Wang Zhi's room was different from the image she projected outside. With a big princess bed and pink wallpaper, it was decorated in a very soft pink style.

As soon as Wang Zhi entered the room, she flopped onto the bed and glanced at Mo Sheng with a frown. "I just don't feel like studying today. What can you do about it..."

Mo Sheng said nothing. She put down her schoolbag and took out paper and pen to write something on the paper.

The little girl's clothes were a bit dirty and her hair was messy. With her head lowered, she wrote without looking aside, utterly out of place in Wang Zhi's pretty and dreamy room.

Watching Mo Sheng, Wang Zhi's eyes shifted. She jumped up and opened her wardrobe to the side.

Wang Zhi had many clothes. Many pieces had been tossed to the very bottom of the wardrobe after being worn only once or twice.

"Hey, ugly... Mo Sheng," Wang Zhi suddenly spoke up.

Mo Sheng looked up and saw several pieces of clothing being tossed over by Wang Zhi.

Wang Zhi looked at Mo Sheng and yawned slowly. "If you change into these clothes, I'll try a bit harder to study with you later..."

Mo Sheng lowered her head, picked up a skirt, went into the bathroom to change, and then walked out without changing expression.

The female ghost's plan had written that to achieve her goal, she could make some compromises that did not harm her principles...

Looking at Mo Sheng in the skirt, Wang Zhi did not feel as happy as she had imagined. It was probably because Mo Sheng's expression showed no ripple at all, completely different from the look on her face that day when she had worn her new skirt to the classroom...

Wang Zhi felt a bit annoyed.

Just then Wang Zhi's mother walked in. She glanced at Mo Sheng in the changed skirt and curled her lip. She had known it all along. These poor wretches only played with her Zhizhi for a purpose.

Seeing her mother come in, and having just made a promise to Mo Sheng, Wang Zhi could only sit down unwillingly beside the desk.

Mo Sheng did not start tutoring right away like everyone else. She handed Wang Zhi a sheet of paper and asked her to work on the problems on it.

The problems on the paper had just been written by Mo Sheng. They included not only first year middle school problems but also elementary school problems.

This too was what the female ghost had taught her. Test in levels first, figure out Wang Zhi's level, and then teach her slowly.

After finishing the test, Mo Sheng discovered that Wang Zhi was only at a third grade elementary school level.

Mo Sheng frowned slightly and began tutoring Wang Zhi starting from fourth grade elementary school knowledge.

Wang Zhi had come to the tutoring with an impatient mindset. She had expected it to feel like listening to gibberish as before, but to her surprise she found she could actually understand what Mo Sheng was explaining...

Wang Zhi felt it was almost magical.

Wang Zhi's mother watched from the side as Mo Sheng earnestly coached Wang Zhi, and she too fell into thought. Ever since Wang Zhi had started school, she had never seen Wang Zhi listen so attentively in class. For a moment, the contempt in her gaze toward Mo Sheng lessened a little.

Although this little girl was a bit vain and fond of small advantages, at least she could help Zhizhi...

Therefore after the tutoring ended, Wang Zhi's mother treated Mo Sheng much better. She not only packed the old clothes Wang Zhi had given Mo Sheng into a cloth bag, but also grabbed a handful of candy and stuffed it into Mo Sheng's hands, telling her to come early the next day to teach Wang Zhi.

Wang Zhi's mother did not really expect great progress in Wang Zhi's studies. In her view, as long as Wang Zhi could be kept at home during the summer vacation instead of thinking only about going out to play every day like before, it would already be a blessing.

Mo Sheng carried the bag home.

The female ghost immediately floated over. When she saw the bag in Mo Sheng's hands, a smile appeared on her face. "Where did these pretty clothes come from? Little Mo Sheng really should wear nice clothes more often..."

"Oh right, I fixed that umbrella you picked up today. When Little Mo Sheng goes out tomorrow, remember to hold up the umbrella. Once you block the sun, Little Mo Sheng's skin will soon turn fair..."

Listening to Han Tian's words, Mo Sheng could not help biting her lower lip.

She had a bag of candy in her pocket. On the way back, Mo Sheng had been unable to resist trying one. It was a delicious taste she had never experienced before.

Mo Sheng had left a steamed bun and an apple for the female ghost before, but the female ghost had not touched any of it.

Mo Sheng had originally planned to secretly leave the candy on the table to see whether the female ghost would eat any.

But at that moment Mo Sheng suddenly did not want to leave it out.

Mo Sheng felt a little wronged.

The female ghost just likes people who are good looking!

She was dark and ugly, and the female ghost only followed her because there was no other choice...

And now the female ghost was not even willing to follow her anymore. Today she had not gone out with her at all...

Mo Sheng's nose stung and her heart suddenly ached terribly!

As if to vent her anger, she pulled out the candy from her pocket. As if to vent her anger, she planned to eat it all in front of the female ghost to see whether she would crave it...

These were fruit juice candies in different flavors. There were peach flavor, orange flavor, apple flavor... all kinds of flavors.

Mo Sheng picked one with apple flavor and put it in her mouth, deliberately pretending it tasted wonderful.

Perhaps she did not need to pretend, for to Mo Sheng this candy was truly delicious.

The female ghost nearby saw her eating candy and floated over as expected.

Yet the female ghost was not as greedy as Mo Sheng had imagined. Looking at Mo Sheng, her eyes showed obvious tenderness. "Wait... I'll definitely buy you lots of tasty candy, one of every brand, and then buy you the most expensive skincare products and the prettiest dresses..."

The words ten years later were blocked by the Spacetime Rules, and Han Tian simply could not voice them at all.

Mo Sheng did not really believe these words would come true, yet listening to them, the awkwardness in her heart miraculously faded away.

She suddenly felt a little happy inside, even happier than when eating candy.

Mo Sheng peeked through her eyelashes at the female ghost floating beside her, bit her lip, and finally decided to be the bigger person and let the female ghost taste some of this candy...

Mo Sheng placed the remaining candy on the table so the female ghost could pick whichever she liked.

As expected, when Mo Sheng woke up the next morning, the candy on the table had not been touched by anyone.

Mo Sheng lowered her head. In the end she could not help picking up the all weather umbrella the female ghost had repaired in the corner of the room. She only meant to carry it for show and had no intention of opening it once outside.

In any case, there was a good chance the female ghost would not follow her today.

Yet when she went out, the female ghost followed her out...

When they reached a certain distance, the female ghost floated up again...

Meeting the gaze the female ghost cast down from midair, Mo Sheng could only press her lips together and stiffly open the umbrella in her hands...

Han Tian felt rather happy.

She felt she had figured out the pattern.

Both Mo Sheng and Mo Sheng's house exerted a kind of pull on her.

When she stayed close to the house at the center of the pull, Mo Sheng's pull on Han Tian was relatively weak, and she could not be carried out by Mo Sheng.

But when she walked out of the house to the edge of the pull, Mo Sheng's pull on her outweighed the house's pull on her, so Han Tian could be lifted and carried along by Mo Sheng...

In that case, she would finally have some independence from now on! She could choose to go out with Mo Sheng or stay at home...

Han Tian was extremely pleased with this discovery. She could not help leaning close to Mo Sheng. "Little Mo Sheng, you're truly my miracle!"

A miracle that could transcend the Spacetime Rules and let Han Tian feel a sense of existence.

Mo Sheng lowered her head without a word, yet beneath her messy hair her ears turned slightly red.

Bad female ghost! It was fine to be happy, but why lean in so close to talk...

I am no miracle.

To be able to become a female ghost, you are the true miracle of this world.
