PANT - Chapter 76

Chapter 76

When Su Xiaoxiao went to kindergarten for the first time, Shi Ning and Su Tianxue were very nervous. Although they had already informed the kindergarten teacher about Xiaoxiao’s special circumstances, as mothers, they couldn’t help but worry.

They worried that Xiaoxiao wouldn’t get along well with the other children at kindergarten.

They worried she wouldn’t be able to adapt to such a group environment.

However, on the first day they took Xiaoxiao to kindergarten, this worry and anxiety was shattered.

The reason was very simple.

Xiaoxiao had actually made a good friend at kindergarten.

This was truly beyond Shi Ning and Su Tianxue’s expectations.

Su Xiaoxiao, who almost never took the initiative in social interactions, had actively walked up and taken another little girl’s hand just because they had made eye contact at kindergarten.

Later, Shi Ning asked Su Xiaoxiao why she was willing to be friends with the other girl.

Su Xiaoxiao thought for a moment, then found a picture of a whale on the TV.

Hmm…

Shi Ning looked at the picture and thought of Su Xiaoxiao’s good friend’s chubby appearance.

Alright.

She still couldn’t find any resemblance between Su Xiaoxiao’s good friend, Li Doudou, and a whale.

Other than both being round, there were no other similarities.

Su Xiaoxiao didn’t tell her mothers about the other things.

For example, that Li Doudou was amazing.

She could see people’s emotions clearly, as if she had telepathy. When Su Xiaoxiao was with Li Doudou, she didn’t need to explain her actions too much; Li Doudou could understand what she wanted.

During mealtime at kindergarten, Su Xiaoxiao didn’t like the messily arranged peas, but she didn’t tell anyone. Yet, Li Doudou just knew. During meals, she would use her little spoon to help scoop the peas away for her.

She did this secretly, behind the kindergarten teacher’s back.

When the mission was accomplished, Li Doudou would even shoot Su Xiaoxiao a very clever and proud little look.

If Su Xiaoxiao was the quietest child in the kindergarten, then Li Doudou was a social butterfly, flitting from one class to another and getting along well with everyone.

Su Xiaoxiao guessed that the reason Li Doudou was so amazing was because she could see other people’s emotions clearly.

When Su Xiaoxiao was unhappy, she wouldn’t say anything, and her facial expression wouldn’t change one bit, but Li Doudou just knew she was unhappy.

Because she said, “Xiaoxiao, it’s raining on you.”

Su Xiaoxiao followed her gaze and looked up at her own head, but could only see the ceiling of the kindergarten classroom.

She couldn’t see any rain at all.

She didn’t suspect Li Doudou was lying; instead, she began to observe Li Doudou’s reactions.

Su Xiaoxiao discovered that when Li Doudou interacted with people, the first thing she did was look up, above the other person’s head.

As if there was something there?

But what could be above a person’s head?

Su Xiaoxiao thought it over and over, recalling what Li Doudou had said to her that day.

It was raining above her head.

Su Xiaoxiao was a very smart child, so smart it was almost beyond ordinary imagination. Based on this guess alone, she boldly formed a hypothesis: Li Doudou could see emotions, and she could also see changes in people’s emotions. And the specific manifestation of these things was just like the weather.

The weather has forecasts.

Li Doudou could also forecast other people’s moods.

Boldly hypothesize, carefully verify.

For a long time after that, Su Xiaoxiao put this most important scientific principle into practice.

And then she discovered that her guess was correct.

This provided Su Xiaoxiao with a great deal of convenience.

Among her growing pains, the biggest problem was not knowing how to judge other people’s emotions.

With Li Doudou, Su Xiaoxiao felt like she had an incredibly powerful buff.

A cheat tool.

She only needed to stay by Li Doudou’s side, and she would no longer be at a loss for how to judge others’ emotions.

Li Doudou knew everything.

Su Xiaoxiao really liked being with her.

Shi Ning and Su Tianxue were very happy that Su Xiaoxiao was able to make a good friend.

One evening, Shi Ning hugged Su Tianxue’s waist coquettishly and said with a sigh, “I originally thought Xiaoxiao would always be alone.”

Su Tianxue slowly stroked her long hair, also feeling a bit emotional.

“Perhaps she’s lucky.”

If one had to say, it was a stroke of great luck amidst misfortune.

Shi Ning pressed the side of her face against the woman’s lower abdomen. It was soft and warm, rising and falling with Su Tianxue’s long, slow breaths.

Shi Ning felt as if she were wrapped in a wave of love. In that tender space, she kissed Su Tianxue’s abdomen.

Here, a life had once been nurtured.

Moved, Shi Ning said, “I’m lucky, too.”

Su Tianxue: “Hm?”

Shi Ning licked Su Tianxue’s navel with the tip of her tongue. A cool sensation spread, and Su Tianxue gave Shi Ning’s head a little push. Shi Ning followed the line of her abdomen, little by little.

Kissing her way down.

Her voice drifted through the intimate night.

“Wife, I’m so lucky to have met you.”

Su Tianxue let out a muffled groan. She didn’t speak, nor could she.

A person’s energy and attention are limited.

When one person’s thoughts are completely carried away by another, they forget what they were going to say.

Only broken words and phrases remain.

The moon hung secretly in the sky, peeking quietly through the gaps in the leaves. The curtains, gently lifted by the wind, gave it an opportunity. So it slipped in, landing on the woman’s body.

Her smooth back seemed to be plated with a beautiful silver sheen.

Sacred and beautiful.

Shi Ning kissed it passionately.

Meeting Su Tianxue.

She felt grateful for her good fortune.

Shi Ning could no longer imagine what life would be like without Su Tianxue.

Still frequenting bars every day, weaving through the bustling city, but when she opened the door to her home, the only thing that would ever greet her was the furniture.

She wouldn’t be like she was now, with a home, a lover, and her own child.

Deeply concerned, yet perfectly content.

The children in kindergarten all had to do arts and crafts.

Generally speaking, although the teacher’s instructions were for the children to do it themselves, in practice, it was usually the parents who were having all the fun.

Su Xiaoxiao’s manual dexterity was very poor.

She wanted to make a little turtle that could move, but this was too challenging for her.

She was a girl who couldn’t even fold a little paper star.

Seeing this, Shi Ning decided to step in and help Su Xiaoxiao make something grand.

Forget a handmade little turtle; she could make Su Xiaoxiao an entire underwater diorama.

After all, she was a craftswoman.

A small challenge like this wasn’t going to defeat her as a mommy.

Shi Ning was a woman of action. She started ordering tools and prepared to get started.

Su Xiaoxiao also really liked the craft project Shi Ning proposed.

Most importantly, she could put the little turtle in the cardboard box, just like returning it to the sea.

The two of them at home reached a consensus, so Su Tianxue didn’t object. Every day after work, the family would sit in the playroom and diligently work on their craft.

First, they needed a super large, transparent acrylic box.

Then, they had to design the things that would be in the sea.

Coral, reefs.

Everything had to be made from paper.

Making the reefs was very simple. You just had to crumple up a piece of paper, then paint it, and it would immediately look very much like an underwater reef.

What should have been a simple task, however, became a bit difficult because the family was doing it together.

It started when Su Xiaoxiao accidentally got paint on herself while painting. She held out her small hands pitifully, looking at Shi Ning and Su Tianxue at a complete loss, as if waiting to be rescued by her two mothers.

Su Tianxue hurried to get a wet wipe, intending to clean Su Xiaoxiao up.

Thankfully, the paint they had bought was safe, harmless, and easy to wash off. Otherwise, who knows what would have happened!

Shi Ning watched from the side as Su Tianxue carefully wiped Su Xiaoxiao’s face and fingers. For some reason, she reached out, touched the paint, and deliberately dabbed some on her own face.

When Su Tianxue was almost done cleaning up Su Xiaoxiao, she stared at the woman, mimicking her daughter’s pitiful expression, and said, “Wife, I got some on me too.”

Su Tianxue chided her, “How old are you?”

Shi Ning chuckled and didn’t say anything more. She just tilted her head up, brought her face closer with a smile in her eyes, and waited for Su Tianxue to wipe her face.

Su Tianxue gently wiped it off for her.

Then, a moment later, Shi Ning whined again, “Wife, there’s paint on my hand too.”

Su Tianxue felt that something was off.

She tossed the wet wipe she had to Shi Ning. “Wipe it yourself.”

Shi Ning said aggrievedly, “Wife, you’ll wipe it for our daughter but not for me.”

Su Tianxue: “…Didn’t I just wipe it for you?”

Shi Ning argued illogically, “But you just wiped it for our daughter again.”

Su Tianxue said helplessly, “How old are you, getting jealous of your own daughter.”

Shi Ning huffed, “This isn’t called being jealous.”

Su Xiaoxiao didn’t speak, her eyes secretly darting between her mothers, looking at one, then the other.

After a moment of silence, she suddenly reached out and slapped a hand on Shi Ning’s face.

Splat-

A blue handprint was left on Shi Ning’s face.

Shi Ning was stunned.

Su Xiaoxiao stared at the print for a long moment, then giggled.

Well.

Seeing her daughter react like this, what else could Shi Ning do?

Of course, she took the opportunity to start playing around with Su Xiaoxiao. It didn’t matter if paint flew everywhere and made a mess of the whole room.

Su Tianxue didn’t join the battle at first, but after Shi Ning and Su Xiaoxiao had been going at it for a while, Su Xiaoxiao hid behind Su Tianxue to dodge Shi Ning’s paint attack.

Shi Ning wasn’t paying attention for a moment, and splat, a glob of paint landed on Su Tianxue.

Shi Ning: “…”

Shi Ning wanted to raise her hands and beg for mercy.

“Wife, let me explain.”

Su Tianxue smiled faintly. “What is there to explain? There’s nothing that needs explaining.”

She immediately joined forces with Su Xiaoxiao and launched an attack on Shi Ning.

Shi Ning wanted to cry but had no tears.

Is this my status in the family?

Fortunately, after the great battle was over, Su Tianxue and Su Xiaoxiao both came over to her as she lay on the floor playing dead, took out wet wipes, and slowly began to clean her up.

Su Xiaoxiao really enjoyed the process of cleaning, so she was having a wonderful time wiping the paint off Shi Ning.

Watching their daughter’s happy expression, the corners of her mouth turned up like a happy little kitten’s.

Shi Ning and Su Tianxue glanced at each other and quietly linked their fingers.

A flowing emotion was hidden in that unspoken understanding.
