[Hidden achievement triggered: 【Full-Value Saint Recognition】. Saint Points awarded: 200]

At that moment, Zheng Yi was silently approaching an ability user on guard duty. Once within range, a stream of water instantly transformed into a high-pressure water blade, easily slicing through the ability user's neck. The next instant, Zheng Yi controlled the blood that was about to splatter, merging it into the water stream. The long, crimson current now swirled silently around her.

'Zero One?' she asked in a cold voice, demanding to know what was going on, even as she continued to move silently into the darkness.

There were too many ability users; they were indeed difficult to deal with.

But, couldn't she just deal with them one by one?

[I...] Zero One was also bewildered. "[It's a hidden achievement. I didn't know about it either.]"

[As for who gave you the Saint Points... I can't check on my end. I-I'll try sending another request?]

[But-but of all the people it could be, it can't be one of the ones you just killed here, right? And no one has discovered your infiltration. The people you met before... perhaps it's Yu Yinan?] Zero One grew nervous. [Yu Yinan couldn't have found out you left, could she? No, no, no, the puppet is still there, she wouldn't have noticed. If she had found out... if she had, how could she believe with all her heart that you're a Saint?]

Zheng Yi listened impassively to Zero One's scattered analysis. After easily dispatching the night guards, she briefly surveyed her surroundings and headed toward the dormitory building.

Chu Yi had said there were thirteen ability users. She had only killed four so far. She had to find where they were resting... After clearing out the small fry, she could go find their leader and have some fun with him.

[Right! Wasn't Jiang Jue here? And I don't see Li Yunhan or Wang Youfei! Wang Youfei is an ability user, too. They must have parted ways!] Zero One said excitedly, as if it had discovered a new possibility. [Maybe Li Yunhan's group ran into trouble, or suffered some hardship, or got tricked by other ability users? In any case, they remembered how good you were to them, and by comparison, they now genuinely believe you're a Saint?]

'Ten points?'

[...] Zero One was silent for a moment before confessing, [None of my previous Hosts ever activated a hidden achievement. I always thought... that ten Saint Points and zero Saint Points were no different.]

'No need to guess. We'll know when we get back.' The crimson stream of water coiled around Zheng Yi's pale fingertips. She narrowed her dark eyes and glanced up at the moon.

Yu Yinan...

Should she be called too naive and foolish, or praised for her purity?

Then again, it might not have been her.

In the ordinary silence of the deep night, the soundless slaughter had only just begun.

The flowing blood-water shrouded Zheng Yi, obscuring her appearance. She moved in complete silence past the dormitory doors, one by one. These rooms on the lower floors seemed to be where the base's ability users rested.

"I'm just too kind-hearted."

Zero One watched as Zheng Yi walked up to a sleeping person and sighed this out softly. It stared, wide-eyed, about to ask if Zheng Yi wasn't going to hide anymore. Just then, at the very moment the ability user sensed something was wrong and groggily began to wake, Zheng Yi pressed down on his head with both hands. With a single 'crack,' the sound of breaking bone was exceptionally crisp.

"Letting them die peacefully in their sleep, sparing them the suffering of the Wasteland." Zheng Yi sighed softly. "Oh, Zero One, tell me, how did I become so kind, so saintly?"

"The Vajra glares fiercely to subdue the four demons; the Bodhisattva lowers his gaze in compassion for the six realms. This, I suppose, is also the way of the Saint, is it not?" she murmured with a sigh, proceeding to the next room.

"Who are you?! Stay back, stay back!" With a low roar, before Zheng Yi could even step through the door, the ability user who had woken with a start let out a snarl. He abruptly dropped to all fours as fur sprouted from his body, stretching and bursting his clothes until he transformed into a giant gray wolf.

But his fur was bristling, his tail was tucked between his legs, and his back was arched. One whiff of the blood in the air and one look at the terrifying blood-water swirling around Zheng Yi, and he understood everything.

But Zheng Yi didn't make a move.

Not until the gray wolf let out a shrill howl filled with endless terror and fear and tried to escape through the window did she suddenly close in. The crimson water blade vibrated at a high frequency, splitting the entire wolf down the middle, cleaving it in two.

"For a person to become a beast... what an interesting transformation ability." Zheng Yi cradled half of the wolf's head in her arms, gently stroking the gray fur. The texture wasn't as soft as a pet's. As more blood gathered around her, she began to hum the Great Compassion Mantra. When she tossed the wolf's head to the floor, the corpse gradually reverted to its human form.

And that wolf's howl, which had pierced the night, was enough to awaken the entire base.

"Alright, alright, the warm-up should be over now~" Zheng Yi stretched lazily. The next instant, the entire dormitory building lit up as the power came on.

It seemed they had a generator here.

The few ability users who rushed over were all disheveled, as if they had hastily thrown on clothes in a panic before hurrying down. The man they called Yang Ge was the same, though he was calmer than the others. Even when he pushed open the first dorm room and saw the headless, desiccated corpse inside, he only took a single step back. Unlike the others, whose fear was nearly impossible to hide.

"I don't know which great power has graced us with their presence, but we can talk things out. In this Wasteland, there's no grudge that can't be resolved." To have infiltrated in the dead of night and silently killed so many ability users... if not for that wolf's howl... no, that seemed more like it was let out on purpose. Whether it was intentional or a mistake, the attacker was definitely not someone to be trifled with.

Moreover, this use of their ability... His eyes flickered. He stomped hard on the foot of the ability user next to him and glanced upstairs. That ability user reacted instantly, slowly backing away before frantically running upstairs.

"You've killed so many of my brothers. No matter how powerful your ability is, it must have taken a toll, right? You made that sound to draw us out, wasn't it to talk? If so, let's talk. Whatever deep-seated hatred we have, these several lives... should be enough to settle it."

The words had barely left his mouth when the crimson stream of water seeped out from under the last door. A figure completely shrouded in blood emerged from within. Yang Zhengming heard a crisp, light laugh-it-it was a woman?

Could it be the shelter from this evening... No, they couldn't be this fast. If they had this kind of power, why would they wait until the middle of the night to attack alone?

"Of course I have something to discuss with you privately. After all~ seeing you trapped in a sea of suffering without realizing it, it truly pains my heart~"

The delicate, gentle voice made Yang Zhengming's heart skip a beat. If not for the horrifying blood-water, he might have actually entertained some ideas. Subconsciously, he was reminded of tales of ghosts and monsters; perhaps the soul-stealing female spirits were just like this.

"Ha, this Yang is willing to hear the details."

"My dear, you don't seem to understand the meaning of 'privately,' do you? But that's alright, I understand what you mean." The person concealed by the blood-water seemed to chuckle. "So let me handle it for you, shall I?"

What did she mean? Alarm bells went off in Yang Zhengming's head. Almost instinctively, a layer of flowing metal covered his body, and a sharp wind materialized in the hallway-he was a dual-ability user!

But what came at him was a deluge of blood-water that blotted out the sky! It seeped from the rooms, from the walls, from the stairs-from every direction. The two remaining ability users beside him turned pale with fright. Though a beat too slow, they tried to activate their abilities to resist with all their might.

And in that exact instant, the metal protection on Yang Zhengming vanished, the wind stopped abruptly, and the countless streams of blood-water instantly lost their control, splashing to the ground with a great clatter and pooling into a crimson layer across the entire corridor.

A rather thin, fair-skinned man walked down the stairs. His face was slightly pale; he had pushed his ability to its absolute limit in an instant, encompassing the entire dormitory building!

Special abilities prohibited!

The smile on Zheng Yi's lips froze. She lowered her gaze slightly. Her entire body was drenched in blood, with crimson droplets dripping continuously from the ends of her hair. From head to toe, she was utterly filthy.

"Heh! All that mystery-mongering. This Yang thought you were some great master, but it turns out you're just a little sister who delivered herself to our doorstep!" Yang Zhengming's expression changed in a flash. He laughed out loud and raised his hand slightly. "Take her." Tang Kang'an couldn't maintain such a large-scale ability prohibition for long.

"Hehe..." The blood-drenched woman suddenly let out a laugh. Yang Zhengming wasn't afraid, thinking she was still bluffing. Just as he and the ability users beside him were about to move forward and subdue her, the woman suddenly moved-

His pupils contracted violently. He had no idea when or from where this woman had produced a fire axe. Her speed was simply too fast, nothing like what an ordinary human could possess!

In a mere instant, two heads flew into the air. The gushing blood splattered across the ceiling, staining it completely. Yang Zhengming could even see the ferocious, confident expressions that hadn't yet faded from the two ability users' faces. He could even meet their gazes and watch their expressions turn to confusion and terror.

"What an interesting ability."

"Good brother, don't you dare stop this ability now~ Otherwise, I might get angry."

Her voice was still incredibly gentle, with a soft, coquettish tone that would normally soften anyone's heart. But at this moment, Yang Zhengming felt his scalp tingle. A chill pierced his heart, causing him to open his mouth in vain, unable to make a sound. His soul, however, was letting out a silent scream-an indescribable, soul-shattering terror that brought him to the brink of collapse.

The woman didn't even glance at the two headless corpses as they toppled over, nor at the ripples they made as they splashed into the pool of blood. Her fingertips were stained a faint crimson. Her dark eyes, bright and clear, held a faint smile as she gazed at him tenderly. "Come now, tell me, do you know Zheng Yi?"
