Chapter 2: The Daughter
"Why is the font on this PPT slide one size larger!"
"Why are some of your punctuation marks from the English input method and some from the Chinese input method?"
"Help! Why do some of these three lines have spaces and some don't!"
"I'm numb! Who wrote this report? The line spacing is all over the place!"
Exclamations of surprise and frustration rose and fell in the report review office. Some shrieked, some collapsed, some held their phones with grim faces, sending documents back for revision...

The head of the report review office, wearing black-rimmed glasses, stopped typing, looked down at her wrist watch, closed her eyes, and slowly exhaled, "There are still 12 minutes until 9:30."
"Help!" The people in the office dared not complain anymore, nor did they dare to find the original authors to revise the documents. They all sat in their chairs, typing away furiously, burying their heads in intense revision.
"CEO Tao's car has entered the underground parking lot!" A scout reported from the door.

A hint of annoyance crossed her face. She stood up and said, "But I heard CEO Tao is in a good mood today. Tidy up and copy the materials to the conference room."
Everyone drooped their heads, looking like they were going to their deaths.
Someone found humor in their misery, saying, "Anyway, we didn't write these things. Maybe we won't get scolded?"
"The cold-faced demon king won't consider such things," someone whispered.
"Monday, Monday, barely alive," everyone sighed.
Chunjin Group is located in the heart of Tianhua City. Not only is it renowned both domestically and internationally, but the location of the group's headquarters is also a landmark building in the city. The fact that a single company occupies all 50 floors of the building is astonishing.
The current CEO is Tao Qiuyun, the eldest daughter of the Tao family, who returned from abroad six months ago. "CEO Tao," Zheng Liuyu held a tablet, her steps quick, keeping pace with Tao Qiuyun. She maintained a fast, clear pace as she reported the day's schedule: "The meeting with Governor Liu and Secretary Zhang went smoothly. Subsequent handover details will be continuously followed up by Secretary Zhou from the Secretary's Office, who will report to you after making real-time written records."
"Next is the CEO's routine meeting at 9:30, attended by all senior executives. There are no absentees on the list, and it is expected to end at 11:00. "That's enough." The pleasant sound of jade striking is always delightful, especially when the person interrupting you is your superior.
Hearing her superior speak, Secretary Zheng immediately stopped reciting the schedule and looked up at the woman beside her.
Superior lip shape, elegant nose bridge, paired with crescent moon eyebrows and starry eyes—these features should have made her look extremely gorgeous, but the coldness that seemed to emanate from the woman's very bones added a touch of chill to her exquisite face. Gorgeous as peach and plum blossoms, yet with a temperament as severe as frost and snow.
Her long black hair was loose behind her head, slightly curled but smooth and tidy, clearly having been carefully styled. The royal blue fitted suit was not a typical business suit but a stylish oblique-buttoned set, outlining Tao Qiuyun's full bust and slender waist. Her straight, long legs were encased in slim-fit suit pants, revealing a glimpse of her ankles as she walked. The sound of her low-heeled leather shoes tapping on the tile floor was evenly spaced, creating a sense of presence.
As Zheng Liuyu looked up, she happened to see a gentle breeze blow past Tao Qiuyun's ear, lifting a strand of hair and revealing a star-shaped earring. The perfect side profile was a critical hit that made her lose focus for a moment, falling half a step behind.
Tao Qiuyun seemed not to notice, merely subtly adjusting her pace. She said, "Secretary Zheng, the Monday afternoon schedule is mostly like this. From now on, when reviewing the schedule with me, try to mention things that are different."
"Understood, CEO Tao." Zheng Liuyu quickly caught up.
The staff waiting at the conference room door opened it for Tao Qiuyun. Inside the conference room, other staff members immediately poured water and placed the teacup at the main seat.
As usual, everyone was first stunned by CEO Tao's beauty, but as soon as she took her seat at the head of the table, they all snapped back to attention.
This beautiful woman with excellent form and bone structure was no soft little lamb; she was a head wolf with extremely strong execution ability.
"Thank you, you worked hard," Tao Qiuyun said as she sat down, thanking the young woman who poured the water.
"You're welcome, it's my duty to serve CEO Tao!" The young woman seemed to have just started working recently, her voice slightly excited.
A senior colleague from the same team quickly pulled her back and stepped forward, saying, "CEO Tao, this is An Ningru, who became a full employee last week. She's attending the meeting for the first time today."

"Let's begin," Tao Qiuyun looked at the screen in front of her.
With a clear, commanding voice, everyone in the conference room snapped back to attention once more.
When Tao Shizhou received the police notification, he felt utterly bewildered. He didn't think the police would play such a joke on him – Your great-granddaughter is missing.
Where would he get a great-granddaughter?
His granddaughter Tao Qiuyun was 28 years old. His grandson Tao Zhuohua was... how old was he this year? Never mind, it wasn't important.
His granddaughter had only been back for half a year, so it was impossible for her to have a child, right? Could it be that kid Tao Zhuohua?
Old Master Tao, whose sneeze would warrant people being sent from the capital to offer condolences, arrived at the police station under the discreet protection of dozens of bodyguards. "Yes, Old Master," the man nodded, looked down at his fists, and estimated how many punches the delicate young master could take.
"My Tao family has no beasts who abandon women! That fellow is irresponsible after having a child, letting the girl suffer all the hardship. Ten months of pregnancy, how difficult that must be! Beast, scoundrel, dog thing!" The more Old Master Tao looked at Tao Aiqin's face, the more he doted on her, and the angrier he became. He slammed his cane heavily on the ground, "I'm going to cut off his cards and kick him out of the Tao family..."
"Old Master Tao!" Director Liu was an old acquaintance. Seeing him arrive, he quickly stepped forward and said, "Please calm down first. I think there must be some misunderstanding in this."
