ORCBRB – Chapter 79

Chapter 79

When she was carried into the bathroom, a set of unopened pajama bags hung arrogantly from the doorknob, ostentatiously heralding what was about to happen.

“An'an,” Jian Cenyu’s voice was laced with a smile. “Thank you for buying these clothes. I like them very much.”

The word ‘like’ sent a tingle through Sang Shi'an's ears. Before anything had even happened, she already felt weak. She gave Jian Cenyu a feeble push, only to have her collarbone captured by moist lips.

A slight sting followed as Jian Cenyu bit her.

Sang Shi'an couldn't help but struggle and reason, “Those intimate pajamas haven’t been washed yet…”

“These are styles that can’t be tried on before purchase. Besides, we don’t need to wear them for a whole night, right?” Jian Cenyu turned on the shower, pressing Sang Shi'an against the wall while kissing and coaxing her, unable to put her down.

Her body fell completely under Jian Cenyu’s control. Sang Shi'an trembled all over as she was licked. Steam filled the enclosed space, making it hot and humid. Jian Cenyu’s voice carried a bewitching smile, “You made things so difficult for me in front of the sales associate just now. Why can’t you even look me in the eye now?”

Sang Shi'an felt very wronged. “I just wanted to buy you some new clothes…”

Jian Cenyu reached out to part Sang Shi'an’s legs, both amused and exasperated, retorting, “Then what are you hiding from now?”

Sang Shi'an thought to herself that Jian Cenyu was just putting on an act.

The gift bag of pajamas they had brought in hung forlornly by the door. Sang Shi'an couldn't bear it and looked away, only to meet the clear, fiery passion in Jian Cenyu’s eyes.

She had been holding back for a long time at the mall and now looked ready to savor a delicious meal.

Sang Shi'an’s back pressed against the steam-covered glass door before her waist was encircled and she was pulled back. Her entire body was now scented with the same fragrant body wash as Jian Cenyu, with nowhere to escape.

Rich foam lathered in Jian Cenyu’s palm and was slowly spread across Sang Shi'an’s shoulders and back. The ointment from noon had worked well; the injury on her chest was almost invisible. When she was pulled back under the shower, Jian Cenyu finally couldn't resist leaning in to kiss her, sucking and biting the tip of her tongue. Sang Shi'an’s gasps trailed off with a rising inflection until she completely lost control of her breathing.

At this point, Sang Shi'an could no longer stand steadily. Jian Cenyu led her into the bathtub. The damp ends of her hair stuck to the tub's wall, and her fair skin was already tinged with a light pink. A little more force, and it would leave marks like the ones on her chest from last night.

It particularly satisfied Jian Cenyu’s secret possessiveness over Sang Shi'an.

Just as Sang Shi'an had managed to catch her breath, she saw Jian Cenyu suddenly step out of the bathtub to grab the shopping bag hanging on the door.

Her pupils constricted, and she quickly said, “Don’t!”

It was too late.

Jian Cenyu brought the pajama bag directly into the tub. The exquisite gift boxes inside were opened one by one, and pieces of soft, sheer nightwear floated to the surface, unexpectedly covering Sang Shi'an’s body.

The soft, thin fabric half-floated on the water and half-clung to Sang Shi'an’s body, as if testing which one suited her best, vaguely revealing the skin underneath.

Sang Shi'an looked at Jian Cenyu, bewildered.

Jian Cenyu calmly picked one up, rubbing it between her fingertips as the corners of her mouth slowly curved up. “Weren’t you complaining that they weren’t washed?”

“You can’t wash them like this. How am I supposed to wear them if they’re all wet?” Sang Shi'an had already resigned herself to wearing them.

Jian Cenyu grabbed one of Sang Shi'an’s feet and slipped the one-piece pajama onto it. Her upturned lips met Sang Shi'an’s in an intimate kiss, her breathy voice laced with a smile as she said, as if teaching a child, “You can wear them wet in here.”

The soaked fabric clung tighter to the body, accentuating its curves. The decorative gauze moved with the water, making it even more seductive. Sang Shi'an sensed Jian Cenyu’s intention and was about to object when Jian Cenyu’s kisses suddenly became fierce, sucking her lips until they were a bruised red. “Be good.”

With tears in her eyes, Sang Shi'an opened her mouth to bite her. “Why do I have to be the only one wearing it?”

Jian Cenyu raised an eyebrow as if she had discovered something more interesting. She immediately put on the matching pajama and gently covered Sang Shi'an.

A shimmer of water glistened in Sang Shi'an’s eyes. Only then did she realize that these two sets were the ones the sales associate had specifically pointed out—styles that could be worn throughout the entire act.

“Didn’t An'an want Jiejie to wear it? Why aren’t you even looking now that I have it on?”

Sang Shi'an bit her lip. “Mmm, mmm!”

“Why are you trembling? Are the clothes too tight?”

Sang Shi'an trembled even more violently.

Jian Cenyu’s hand trailed down from her chest. “Here? Here? Or… here?”

With every inch her hand moved down, her voice deepened by a fraction, tracing along the places Sang Shi'an found most unbearable. Even without much force, patches of red bloomed. Sang Shi'an could barely breathe. Her lips parted, her chest heaving with broken breaths. Her hands, clinging to Jian Cenyu’s shoulders, loosened and tightened, tightened and loosened. Finally, at the opening at the bottom of the garment, their skin touched without the barrier of fabric, and her breathing suddenly quickened.

Jian Cenyu leaned down, her half-lidded eyes shedding their daytime coolness. “If it’s uncomfortable to wear, why don’t you say so?”

Sang Shi'an moved her waist, but Jian Cenyu pursued and pressed against her again. After a long moment punctuated by the sound of flowing water, Sang Shi'an let out a sob filled with a hint of desperation and grievance, saying one word at a time, “Jian… Cen… yu…”

Jian Cenyu’s voice dissolved into an inscrutable, dense fog, enveloping Sang Shi'an once more. “Does my partner like it?”

“Have I managed to coax my passionate and unrestrained partner?”

Sang Shi'an could only grit her teeth and swallow the words she had said. “I… hate… pajamas—”

Rip.

Sang Shi'an’s partner was also very considerate, directly tearing a slit in the exceptionally thin fabric before kissing her again. “Then let’s not wear them.”

Sang Shi'an’s beautiful face was wet with tears. “That’s not what I meant.”

Jian Cenyu kissed her again. “Mm, then I’ll be gentler.”

When pushed to the extreme, Sang Shi'an’s long eyelashes trembled, a trace of red trailing from the corners of her eyes, a picture of vibrant, fragrant beauty.

It continued until midnight. A torn nightdress hung on the side of the bathroom trash can. The steam on the mirror held the blurry outline of a person, and the facial cleanser and skincare products next to it were scattered on the floor. A few puddles of unknown liquid stained the black porcelain countertop. Sang Shi'an lay in Jian Cenyu’s arms, gently sniffing the reassuring scent on her neck.

Jian Cenyu put down the hairdryer and suggested, “You must be hungry. Should I order some food?”

Just like that, Sang Shi'an was placed back on the sofa. The soft body in her arms was gone, and her expression instantly darkened a little.

Not romantic at all!

With a ‘smack,’ she knocked Jian Cenyu’s phone out of her hand, picked it up from the sofa, and placed it behind her back without a word.

Jian Cenyu didn’t react at first, until she read a hint of pitifulness in Sang Shi'an’s accusing gaze. Her expression changed slightly, and she sat back down. “Want to cuddle a bit longer?”

Sang Shi'an huffed.

That must be the right direction. Jian Cenyu smiled silently and pulled the person back into her arms. “What about a late-night snack? Not eating?”

Sang Shi'an had already picked up Jian Cenyu’s phone and coolly unlocked it with facial recognition. “I can order.”

Jian Cenyu smiled and held her tighter, planting a kiss by her ear and saying in a pleading tone, “An'an, don’t be so cute.”

Hearing this, Sang Shi'an’s heart beat a little faster. She lowered her head and bit Jian Cenyu on the chest. “Say another word and I’ll make you sleep on the street.”

She’d been tormented all night. Couldn’t she get some perks for herself?

Jian Cenyu chuckled, letting her hug and touch her as she pleased, but still couldn’t resist saying, “So fierce.”

Sang Shi'an: “Then why are you still dating me?”

“I just like them fierce.”

“That’s more like it.”

Having had her fill of mischief that night, Sang Shi'an proactively transformed back into the considerate Secretary Sang the next morning, walking into the Jian Corporation office building in a professional suit similar to Jian Cenyu’s.

She wore a perfectly crafted, detached smile, followed gracefully behind Jian Cenyu, and listened as passing employees greeted her boss. It wasn’t until she entered the office that her stiff back relaxed, and she collapsed onto the sofa like a limp noodle.

Jian Cenyu was taking off her jacket and couldn’t help but tease Sang Shi'an when she saw her state. “Secretary Gu.”

Sang Shi'an’s listless body immediately sat up, a perfect smile on her face as she turned her head.

Then she saw the empty office and the closed door.

The culprit was laughing heartily on the side.

Sang Shi'an: “…”

Sang Shi'an looked at Jian Cenyu speechlessly. “Where’s your aloofness, Junior CEO Jian?”

Jian Cenyu said matter-of-factly, “That word isn’t necessary for my girlfriend.”

Sang Shi'an bared her teeth. “Didn’t you love to act all high and mighty when we first started living together?”

Jian Cenyu: “We weren’t together back then.”

Sang Shi'an: “So you really weren’t deliberately showing off in front of me back then?”

Jian Cenyu said flatly, “No.”

Sang Shi'an scoffed, not believing her for a second.

There was a knock on the office door. Secretary Gu came in with drinks. Sang Shi'an took the freshly made mango pomelo sago with crushed ice and glanced at the drink in Jian Cenyu’s cup—pitch-black coffee, probably without any milk.

It seemed that taking over a multi-billion-dollar enterprise wasn’t so easy.

“Is there any work I can do?” Sang Shi'an asked proactively.

Jian Cenyu took a sip of coffee and said, “From now on, you’ll accompany me to all meetings. Go ask Secretary Gu for the recent project materials.”

Project team meetings were different from yesterday’s senior management meeting. They involved a dozen functional departments and dozens of project teams, with a fast pace of reporting and decision-making. If she didn’t familiarize herself beforehand, she wouldn’t even be able to keep up with the meeting minutes.

Secretary Gu had already organized everything. Upon Jian Cenyu’s instruction, she directly sent Sang Shi'an a document with over a hundred pages of sub-items, and that was just for the pharmaceutical reform project alone, allowing Sang Shi'an to get familiar with the business in the shortest possible time.

At first, Sang Shi'an thought that with her speed of familiarizing herself with literature at school, she could finish it in a day. But every field has its specialty. Pharmaceutical projects were different from financial literature, after all. It was still a bit difficult to fully grasp. When Jian Cenyu wanted to take her out for lunch, she refused.

As it neared the end of the workday, Sang Shi'an’s eyes were sore. Staring at the dense text on the computer, she felt like she was seeing double. She had made a ton of notes and kept going back to review them.

When Jian Cenyu forced her to clock out, Sang Shi'an couldn’t help but wonder how Jian Cenyu had managed to coax her, complete her studies, and remotely follow up on these Jian Corporation projects all at the same time.

It was too absurd.

“Starting tomorrow, I’m going to drink coffee with you too.” Sang Shi'an’s eyes were red from overwork. It was only six in the evening, but she was already exhausted.

Jian Cenyu’s heart ached as she stroked Sang Shi'an’s head and said gently, “There’s no need to rush. Even Secretary Gu couldn’t get up to speed so quickly when she first joined the company.”

Sang Shi'an’s competitive spirit flared up, and Jian Cenyu couldn’t hold her back. “No way. Everyone knows I got in because of my connection to you. Junior CEO Jian rarely abuses her power for personal gain; I can’t let people look down on her for it.”

Jian Cenyu was utterly charmed by Sang Shi'an and couldn’t help but hug her. “Alright. But don’t force yourself if you’re tired.”

Sang Shi'an nodded. After organizing her materials and making notes, she took her laptop and walked out of the office with Jian Cenyu.

But before the elevator doors could open, the sound of a heated argument came from inside.

Sang Shi'an immediately became alert, curious about who was causing such a scene in the company elevator.

The elevator doors opened to reveal Jian Zhenyang and another man arguing inside, each accompanied by their assistants.

One accused the other of being arrogant and incompetent, while the other retorted, telling him not to kick him when he was down and to hurry up and find a way to get the money.

The assistants on both sides were half-heartedly trying to mediate, which was the scene Sang Shi'an witnessed.

Jian Cenyu helpfully reminded her, “Jian Zhenming.”

Sang Shi'an recalled that this was Jian Zhenyang’s younger brother, the one who had barked alongside him at the police station after she had smashed Jian Zhenyang’s head.

Hearing them mention Huaxing and coughing up money, Sang Shi'an thought of the fifteen percent stake Sang Shiyue held and roughly understood the situation.

Jian Zhenyang caught sight of Jian Cenyu and Sang Shi'an watching the show from the corner of his eye. He immediately abandoned any thought of leaving work and stormed out, shouting, “Jian Cenyu, were you the one behind all this trouble with Huaxing?”

Jian Zhenming also took the opportunity to come out, demanding that Jian Cenyu return the Huaxing shares, or he would report the matter to their grandfather that very night.

Jian Cenyu glanced coolly at the two brothers and said with her thin lips, “The shares are in Sang Shiyue’s name. If you want them, go talk to him yourselves.”

“Who doesn’t know you two are in cahoots? I was wondering why you’d pass up such a good opportunity when I heard your marriage alliance was off. So you were just putting on a show together?” Jian Zhenming had an even shorter temper than Jian Zhenyang. Despite their conflict of interest, he immediately stood on the same side when facing Jian Cenyu.

Jian Cenyu couldn’t be bothered to explain her relationship with Sang Shiyue. In any case, these two had already made up their minds, and the more she explained, the more they would twist it.

Jian Cenyu led Sang Shi'an towards the elevator. As they passed by, Jian Zhenyang suddenly grabbed Jian Cenyu’s arm and threatened menacingly, “Don’t think you can boss me around just because you have control of the Huaxing project. I built Huaxing from the ground up. It’s not your place to interfere.”

Jian Cenyu looked down, used her other hand to grip Jian Zhenyang’s wrist and pull him away, her expression still calm. “If that’s the case, what are you so anxious about?”

Jian Zhenyang: “I—”

Worried that Jian Zhenyang might say something he shouldn’t in his agitation, Jian Zhenming quickly pulled him back. “Brother, brother, don’t fall for her trap.”

Jian Zhenyang shook off Jian Zhenming’s hand and straightened his sleeves. “Did you report me to the Securities and Futures Commission? I really underestimated you. Just to make my life difficult, you’d even dare to send your own father to jail.”

He glared at Jian Cenyu sinisterly. “But don’t get too complacent. Grandfather chose your father in the past, but I am the eldest son and legitimate grandson of the Jian family. Grandfather isn’t dead yet. It’s not your family’s turn to run Jian Corporation. Don’t think you can affect me by pulling strings behind the scenes.”

Sang Shi'an was almost speechless. Seeing that Jian Cenyu had no reaction, she spoke up directly, “What era do you think this is, still talking about ‘eldest son and legitimate grandson’? Jian Zhenyang, who are you trying to disgust? Don’t you just want the Huaxing shares? Fine. I’d like to see how the precious legitimate grandson plans to raise the money this time. Are you going to cry to your emperor emeritus or sell your precious legitimate grandson’s blood?”

Jian Zhenyang exploded almost instantly. “Sang Shi'an, I’ve tolerated you for a long time! Don’t force my hand!”

Sang Shi'an hid behind Jian Cenyu, acting tough with her backing. “Go on, hit me if you have the guts. What’s the matter? I bought your shares and made several hundred million. If you’re not happy, I’ll just dump them on the market. Want a taste of the stock price hitting its limit down again?”

“Brother, brother, don’t be rash!” Jian Zhenming still had some sense left. He quickly held Jian Zhenyang back and shot Jian Cenyu a look, signaling her to leave quickly.

Jian Cenyu glanced leisurely at Sang Shi'an, led her into the elevator, and once the doors closed, she flicked Sang Shi'an’s forehead lightly. “Don’t provoke him like that next time.”

Sang Shi'an pouted. “He was the one who spoke so nastily first.”

Jian Cenyu smiled and didn’t say any more on the matter, instead explaining Jian Zhenyang’s current situation. “Huaxing has only just stabilized back to its opening price. It will never reach its previous highs again. Regardless of whether he has other motives, in front of the Jian Corporation shareholders alone, he has lost this round completely.”

The elevator doors opened again, and Sang Shi'an walked into the parking garage. “Will he buy back the Huaxing shares?”

“If he lets your brother dump those shares on the market, a major shareholder selling off would definitely cause panic among retail investors, and he would still need funds to prop up the price. For Jian Zhenyang, it’s more cost-effective to buy them directly from your brother.” Jian Cenyu thought of Jian Zhenyang’s attitude just now and said with a smile, “And since Jian Zhenyang is so restless, I’ve already achieved my goal of testing him.”

Sang Shi'an thought about the money her brother had made, clicked her tongue, and felt it was a bit of a pity. “Such a great money-making opportunity, why did you go to my brother instead of me?”

Although her money had been used by Wen Yansheng to buy up the scattered Jian Corporation shares, Jian Cenyu didn’t know about that.

She didn’t even mention such a great chance to make a fortune. Sang Shi'an turned her back and started to sulk.

Driving the car, Jian Cenyu caught a glimpse of Sang Shi'an’s jealous look from the corner of her eye and silently curled her lips into a smile, deliberately saying, “He’s the CEO of Shengyu Corporation. Jian Zhenyang has to be somewhat wary of him. It was more appropriate.”

Sang Shi'an: “Oh.”

Jian Cenyu added, “The color change for your car is done. You can pick it up today. Want to go now?”

Sang Shi'an’s enthusiasm remained low. “Oh.”

When the car stopped at a red light, Jian Cenyu turned to the side and pinched Sang Shi'an’s ear. “Are you angry?”

Without turning her head, Sang Shi'an slapped Jian Cenyu’s hand away. “I’m carsick! Don’t talk to me.”

Jian Cenyu lowered her head and chuckled softly. “Sang Kitty, are you angry?”

Hearing the laughter, Sang Shi'an turned her head. “You can still laugh?”

“Mm,” Jian Cenyu looked into Sang Shi'an’s eyes. “You asked why I went to your brother to make this money. Wasn’t it all for you? To save you from being on edge all day.”

“Who’s on edge?” Sang Shi'an said stubbornly. “If he has the guts, he can go tell my parents. A man almost thirty years old running home to tattle to his parents, does he have no shame?”

Jian Cenyu gently squeezed her earlobe. “Alright, then consider my efforts unnecessary. I won’t call him for such good things next time.”

Sang Shi'an was silent for a moment, then said awkwardly, “…You should still call him. He can also help you more with the Jian Corporation projects.”

Jian Cenyu looked at Sang Shi'an quietly and gently murmured her name, “Sang Shi'an.”

She repeated it, her voice even lower, “Sang Shi'an.”

Sang Shi'an’s face flushed. “What?”

Jian Cenyu’s right hand took Sang Shi'an’s, intertwining their fingers. She turned to look at the countdown on the traffic light and gently released the brake.

Sang Shi'an slowly tightened her grip on Jian Cenyu’s hand and asked in a small voice, “Jian Cenyu, were you just trying to coax me?”

Jian Cenyu said nothing, only holding her hand tighter.

After that week, New Year’s Eve was approaching, which meant the annual holiday was about to begin. The entire Jian Corporation, from top to bottom, was extremely busy.

On the day Jian Zhenyang went to buy back the Huaxing shares, Jian Cenyu couldn’t get away, so Sang Shi'an made a special trip to Shengyu Corporation to watch the show.

When Jian Zhenyang saw Sang Shi'an at Jian Corporation, he had to suppress his anger. Now, seeing her haunting him by Sang Shiyue’s side at Shengyu, his face turned green.

Sang Shi'an didn’t care. She ate from a fruit platter, bite by bite, and in her good mood, occasionally offered a skewer to Sang Shiyue.

After the contract was signed, Sang Shiyue stood up with satisfaction and shook Jian Zhenyang’s hand. “The pharmaceutical reform is a great opportunity to gain recognition from the higher-ups. I must thank Director Jian for his generosity, allowing me to make a huge profit from Huaxing so that I can go talk business with your Junior CEO Jian.”

Using the money earned from Jian Zhenyang to invest in Jian Cenyu’s project—this wasn’t gratitude; it was practically making an enemy. Even though the capital Sang Shiyue wanted to partner with was upwards of three billion, and the three hundred million earned from Jian Zhenyang was a drop in the bucket, it was enough to make Jian Zhenyang unhappy.

Jian Zhenyang’s face was dark. He had lost both money and face. He turned and stormed out of Sang Shiyue’s office, slamming the door with a thunderous bang.

Sang Shiyue weighed the documents in his hand and instructed his assistant, “Go check if the door is broken. If it is, have someone estimate the compensation amount and send the bill to Jian Corporation.”

Sang Shi'an gave him a thumbs-up. “Brother, I’m only now realizing how gentle you used to be when you talked to me.”

Sang Shiyue ruffled her hair and said, “Once the money is in, I’ll transfer the three hundred million to you.”

Sang Shi'an immediately shook her head. “I don’t want it.”

Sang Shiyue was surprised. “There’s a time when you refuse money?”

Sang Shi'an nodded righteously. “Cenyu Jiejie said this money is specifically to honor you, brother. Um, consider it this year’s meeting gift.”

Sang Shiyue had originally thought it was a good deal, but upon hearing the reason, he suddenly lost interest in the money.

But Sang Shi'an wouldn’t let him off. “Brother, isn’t Cenyu Jiejie amazing?”

Sang Shiyue: “She’s alright.”

Sang Shi'an tugged at his sleeve. “Can’t you just praise her objectively?”

Sang Shiyue pulled his hand away and loosened his tie. “Don’t beat around the bush. If you have something to say, say it.”

Sang Shi'an diligently picked the reddest, biggest cherry and brought it to Sang Shiyue’s lips. “I don’t have anything to say. Brother, don’t always assume I have ulterior motives.”

Sang Shiyue chewed the cherry and held up one finger. “One chance.”

Sang Shi'an looked at him eagerly and tentatively asked in a small voice, “It’s just that, when Cenyu Jiejie comes to our house for New Year’s, if our parents bring up your marriage…”

Sang Shiyue’s chewing paused. “They’re not that tactless. It was already rejected before; they won’t bring it up again.”

To reassure Sang Shi'an, he added, “Not many people knew about it in the first place, and our two families never made any substantial agreement. You don’t need to worry about it.”

Sang Shi'an said softly, “Then… can I have her stay for a few days, and then I go stay at her place for a few days?”

Sang Shiyue glanced at her. “The New Year holiday is only about ten days long. You two can’t be apart for that long?”

This was Sang Shi'an’s first relationship, and she didn’t know how other people spent the New Year. But the thought of not seeing Jian Cenyu for so long made her miserable. “Brother—”

Sang Shiyue: “…”

“I can’t make the decision for her to stay at her house. As for our house, I’ll talk business with her. If we talk late, I’ll have her stay over. How about that?”

Sang Shi'an was overjoyed. “Thank you, brother!”

After leaving Shengyu Corporation, Sang Shi'an took out her phone and sent a WeChat message to Jian Cenyu: [You can stay at my house for the New Year. Are you happy?]

Jian Cenyu: [?]

Sang Shi'an repeated what she had said at Sang Shiyue’s: [Isn’t this secretary very smart? And very dedicated?]

Jian Cenyu was typing for a while on her end before replying: [Stop reading improper things.]

Sang Shi'an thought to herself, who was the one who insisted on doing adult things with her every day after working overtime?

[No can do. Warming the bed is also a required course for a secretary. I can’t let my boss suffer just because it’s the New Year.]

Jian Cenyu: […]

As it was nearing the end of the workday, Sang Shi'an decided not to go upstairs and simply parked her car next to Jian Cenyu’s. The moonlight-white Lamborghini was particularly eye-catching during rush hour. Sang Shi'an was playing on her phone until Jian Cenyu appeared. Only then did she roll down the window and complain, “If you hadn’t come any later, I would have had to endure the curious stares of the twenty-third person up close.”

She pointed at the front windshield, feeling helpless.

Jian Cenyu got into the passenger seat. “They’ll find out your identity sooner or later. A few more looks don’t matter.”

“Find out what identity?” Sang Shi'an unbuckled her seatbelt and turned to look at Jian Cenyu up close. “That I’m from the Sang family, or that I’m your hidden lover?”

Jian Cenyu poked Sang Shi'an’s forehead. “Just drive your car.”

Sang Shi'an slowly stepped on the gas and headed to the restaurant she had chosen.

After the waiter left with their menu, Sang Shi'an asked Jian Cenyu, “Where did Jian Zhenyang get the money to buy back the shares this time? Don’t tell me he sold shares again? If he keeps selling like this, your Jian Corporation will lose all its face.”

Usually, when a company is short on cash, they seek loans from banks or well-connected enterprises. Who sells off shares like Jian Zhenyang and Old Master Jian?

The first two times were sudden, the amounts were large, and all parties were in a wait-and-see state, so selling shares to cash out was a last resort.

If it happened again this time, Jian Corporation’s reputation would be completely ruined.

“He didn’t sell any shares,” Jian Cenyu said. “He probably made a private profit after Huaxing went public. Last week, he also sold off many of his personal assets, so he might have scraped enough together.”

For Jian Cenyu to say this meant she had already found something out. As the person in charge of the Huaxing project, Jian Zhenyang had also privately manipulated the stock price. His audacity was quite something. It was no injustice that he was taken away by the Securities and Futures Commission last time.

It was obvious that Old Master Jian, who had bailed out Jian Zhenyang, didn’t know about this.

“How come the Securities and Futures Commission didn’t find anything?” Sang Shi'an felt it was a great pity.

As Jian Cenyu took off her jacket, her hair got caught on a shoulder button. She simply let her hair down and tied it up again. “If it were that easy to find out, there wouldn’t be so many people fleeing the country with illicit funds. There will always be more opportunities. If not this time, then we’ll wait for him to slip up next time.”

“I wonder what your grandfather’s reaction will be when he finds out about this. Tsk, tsk, Jian Zhenyang is still his beloved…” Sang Shi'an recalled the term Jian Zhenyang had used and couldn’t help but laugh. “Eldest son and legitimate grandson?”

Jian Cenyu laughed along with her. “Let him think whatever he wants. In the past, he was a venerable elder, and even Dad had to listen to him. I always thought he was very important. Later, I discovered that obeying him didn’t get me what I wanted. His opinions no longer affect me.”

Sang Shi'an agreed. “That’s the right way to think. Anyway, taking care of him in his old age is the job of the… eldest son and legitimate grandson. What does it have to do with you if he gets sick from anger?”

Jian Cenyu looked at Sang Shi'an helplessly.

Sang Shi'an made a zipping motion across her lips and changed the subject. “What have you decided about what I messaged you just now? Which days are you planning to stay at my house?”

“During the New Year, I have to see relatives and also pay visits to a few leaders from above,” Jian Cenyu said honestly. “There might not be any completely free days.”

“What’s the big deal? I’ll go with you. You can’t go alone, can you? Secretary Gu finally gets a break. Are you going to exploit her during the New Year too?” Sang Shi'an propped up her head and recommended herself. “I don’t need a salary, and I guarantee I’ll be more dedicated to the job than Secretary Gu.”

Jian Cenyu laughed. “If you accompany me like this, are you really not planning to rest during the winter break? Even when I was a sophomore and spent a lot of time in the lab, my schedule wasn’t as packed as yours.”

“It is a bit busy, but I’m already twenty. I can’t really be a useless person at home living off dividends, can I?” Sang Shi'an paused for a few seconds, sighed, and quietly revealed the truth. “Most importantly, my girlfriend is so outstanding. Don’t I have to keep a close eye on her?”

Jian Cenyu seemed not to have expected her to say that. She was stunned for a moment, then explained, “I’m not joking with you. I really want you to have a relaxing holiday.”

“But I feel that being with you is what’s relaxing.”

Sang Shi'an deliberately put on a stern face and asked, “Or are you unwilling?”

Their eyes met. The light reflected in Jian Cenyu’s eyes gradually solidified, and her voice became tender. “I couldn’t ask for more.”
