Purely Accidental - Chapter 86

Chapter 86 [Extra 4]

Chapter 86 [Extra 4]

Their wedding date was set for autumn, when the skies were clear and the air crisp.

This pleasant weather wouldn't be too hot nor too cold, allowing them to freely choose any wedding dress style without concern.

Naturally, they selected their own Junjiang Hotel for the venue, giving them complete freedom to arrange everything as they pleased.

As an unapologetic appearance enthusiast who loved playing dress-up with her wife, Pei Youshan began taking Xu Jingshu wedding dress shopping two to three months in advance.

Xu Jingshu was already breathtakingly beautiful - seeing her in a stunning wedding dress, walking toward her as her bride would be like stacking three beauty buffs!

What appearance lover could resist such a scene? Certainly not her.

Just imagining it made her heart flutter.

She wanted to see Xu Jingshu in wedding dresses, and Xu Jingshu equally wanted to see her in them.

Wedding dresses seemed like dreams naturally woven into fairy tales - pure, flawless, elegant and noble.

Nothing would suit her Shanshan more, especially when she appeared before her as Mrs. Xu.

The bridal boutique was elegantly decorated, filled with dazzling wedding gowns.

The manager personally attended to them, providing champagne and desserts with impeccable service that dared not show the slightest neglect - lest their store suffer the consequences of displeasing these powerful clients.

"These are from our brand's newest Dream Collection, favored by many brides," the manager explained. "President Pei and President Xu might want to take a look."

Pei Youshan agreed, setting down her champagne and leading Xu Jingshu by the hand.

She immediately began selecting dresses for Xu Jingshu with natural enthusiasm. "How about this one? Do you like it?"

Xu Jingshu gently smoothed Pei Youshan's voluminous wavy hair, her gaze tender. "Whatever Shanshan likes is fine."

"No, that's not acceptable," Pei Youshan immediately countered, grabbing Xu Jingshu's hands with a stern yet coquettish expression. "How can it just be about what I like? This is your wedding dress - your preference matters most. Besides, whatever you like, I'll like too."

The doting wife-obsessed Xu Jingshu replied, "Then I'll like whatever Shanshan likes."

Pei Youshan burst into laughter. This enchantress was playing word games with her!

"You're impossible! Help me pick properly," she chided. "This one's nice. That one's not bad either... Ah, I'm so conflicted! You'd look gorgeous in everything. I want to see you try them all - what should we do?"

Xu Jingshu calmly suggested, "We have time. We can take it slow and try them all if you'd like."

Pei Youshan happily agreed. Their sweet interaction generated enough romantic atmosphere to feed an army of single people.

The manager maintained a perfect professional smile amidst this blinding display of affection—

Is this love? Whatever. Go ahead and flaunt it. I've seen it all before. My heart is numb. Nothing can hurt me anymore.

Xu Jingshu surveyed the dresses thoughtfully before stroking Pei Youshan's hair. "I'll go pick yours now."

After some serious consideration, they simultaneously selected their favorite designs and revealed them to each other with perfect synchronicity.

"Shanshan."

"Jingshu."

—Both had chosen red wedding dresses.

Xu Jingshu had no particular color preference, so Pei Youshan decisively chose the hue that suited her wife best. Knowing Pei Youshan loved seeing her in red, Xu Jingshu had selected a matching red dress - couples should coordinate, after all.

Unable to contain her delight, Pei Youshan eagerly urged Xu Jingshu to try on the dress, waiting excitedly on her chair.

Minutes later, the curtain drew back, revealing a vision in red.

Standing in the brilliant light, her graceful figure draped in the fluttering red gown, Xu Jingshu resembled a magnificent rose in full bloom - so breathtakingly beautiful it defied description.

Pei Youshan was rendered speechless, her eyes overflowing with admiration. Scrambling through her mental vocabulary, she found no words adequate to capture Xu Jingshu's beauty in this moment.

Xu Jingshu couldn't possibly be human - she must be a celestial fairy, the most stunning in all the heavens.

Suddenly, Pei Youshan's nose tingled with emotion. It wasn't about the dress - this wasn't even her favorite design. She was simply overwhelmed by how perfect Xu Jingshu was, knowing she'd never meet anyone better in this lifetime. And this extraordinary person would marry her in just a few months, walking hand in hand into their future together...

The thought made her emotions overflow.

"Beautiful," she said with slightly reddened eyes. "My wife looks beautiful in anything."

Xu Jingshu gazed at her, then lifted her skirt to approach. In that moment, Pei Youshan felt Xu Jingshu was like a beam of light - one that would wholeheartedly rush toward her.

Xu Jingshu tenderly cupped Pei Youshan's face, gently wiping the corner of her eye. "Why are you crying?"

Pei Youshan laughed sheepishly. "I'm just... moved. My wife is so beautiful. I'm moved that I get to marry someone this stunning."

Xu Jingshu affectionately stroked her back, amused. "Silly girl." Then she boldly kissed Pei Youshan's slightly reddened eyelid. "Don't cry, my love."

Pei Youshan lowered her eyes, gently rubbing them before obediently nodding.

After changing back, Xu Jingshu waited for Pei Youshan to try her dress.

When the curtain opened again, Pei Youshan emerged holding the voluminous layers of her full skirt, her fair skin and rosy lips making her look like a princess straight from a fairy tale.

She twirled slightly, showing off the dress as the wide skirt flared beautifully.

"Do I look good?" she asked.

Xu Jingshu didn't immediately answer, too captivated to speak. Her gaze was openly full of love and admiration, completely unguarded.

Pei Youshan's ears grew warm under such intense scrutiny in public. Feeling suddenly shy, she fidgeted with the bouquet she'd picked up as an accessory, casting demure glances.

Xu Jingshu stood and approached, taking her hand while keeping her eyes firmly on Pei Youshan. "You're exquisite."

Like royalty born to grace castle halls. Someone whose beauty and words none could refuse. If she asked for the moon, people would devote their lives to retrieving it for her.

Pei Youshan glanced subtly at their audience and whispered, "Jingshu, stop staring... everyone's watching..."

Xu Jingshu caressed her delicate fingers, unconcerned about onlookers. "I'm looking at my lawful wife," she said innocently.

Blushing, Pei Youshan frowned coquettishly. "You're impossible..."

After checking herself in the mirror, Pei Youshan decided to keep looking - their wedding deserved only the best! "I'll go change."

Xu Jingshu naturally helped with her skirt. "Let me assist you." Then she boldly followed Pei Youshan into the fitting room.

As the door closed, silence enveloped them, only the faint sound of air circulating audible.

Standing before the mirror, Pei Youshan set down the bouquet and lifted her hair to expose the back. "Help me with the zipper."

Instead of complying, Xu Jingshu wrapped her arms around Pei Youshan's waist from behind, kissing her neck before resting her chin on Pei Youshan's shoulder, watching her through the mirror.

Pei Youshan smiled, reaching up to stroke Xu Jingshu's hair. "What do you want?"

"To kiss Shanshan," Xu Jingshu answered honestly, desire swirling in her eyes. After a pause, she added, "And help you change clothes."

Pei Youshan found her both amusing and irresistible. Of course she'd prioritize the kissing!

But she couldn't refuse - not when Xu Jingshu looked at her with those puppy-dog eyes. With a resigned sigh, she yielded as Xu Jingshu leaned in.

—She was utterly helpless against this woman.

Xu Jingshu's skills, honed through experience, quickly had Pei Youshan's heart racing with just a few teasing movements of lips and tongue.

In the confined space, their breathing grew ragged, the atmosphere thick with intimacy as the mirror clearly reflected their entangled figures.

The awareness of people waiting outside heightened Pei Youshan's senses, making her heartbeat thunder loudly in her ears.

Thump-thump. Thump-thump. So intense it might burst from her chest.

Half-dazed from the kiss, Pei Youshan decided to counterattack, pushing Xu Jingshu against the door—which emitted a soft thump.

"Do President Xu and President Pei need any assistance?" came the manager's voice outside.

Ill-timed and oblivious, yet impossible to ignore. They froze mid-action.

Pei Youshan looked at the door, then at Xu Jingshu, suddenly overwhelmed by embarrassment. Burying her face in Xu Jingshu's chest, she groaned, "This is so embarrassing!"

Why was shame only hitting her now?! She'd never show her face again!

Xu Jingshu remained composed, amusedly comforting her. "It's fine, Shanshan. They can't see us or know what we're doing."

Pei Youshan: "..." Exactly why her wife was being so bold! "Just help me change already!"

She needed to escape this mortifying situation immediately!

...

After visiting two more prestigious bridal shops without finding perfection, they decided to take a break for shopping and bubble tea.

Mid-stroll, Pei Youshan suddenly remembered someone and slapped her forehead in realization.

Xu Jingshu tenderly rubbed the spot. "Be gentle. What did you remember?"

"Old Shao!" Pei Youshan beamed, taking Xu Jingshu's hand. "Jingshu, we could ask if he designs wedding dresses!"

As a creative fashion designer, Shao Xingcheng had always impressed her. Though she'd never seen him design wedding dresses before.

"If he declines, we'll find a specialist," she added.

Xu Jingshu gazed at her sparkling eyes and nodded. "As you wish."

Pei Youshan immediately called Shao Xingcheng. The response was a haughty: "Hmph, finally remembered to ask me."

Pei Youshan: "?"

"I've been secretly learning wedding dress design for ages, just waiting for this moment!"

Pei Youshan: "???"

"Since when? Feifei and I had no idea!"

"I started when Feifei got into a relationship last year," Shao Xingcheng explained. "Wanted to surprise you both by designing your wedding dresses."

"That's why I kept it secret. The plan was to reveal it when you approached me, but you went dress shopping first—I shouldn't have been so reserved."

Touched, Pei Youshan softened. "Oh, Shao..."

He chuckled. "Friends help each other, right? Let's meet soon to discuss your vision."

After hanging up, Pei Youshan hugged Xu Jingshu emotionally. "I'm so lucky to have met so many wonderful people... especially you."

Xu Jingshu stroked her hair lovingly. "It's because you're so wonderful and adorable that we're all drawn to you." Kissing her ear, she added, "Meeting you is our good fortune too."

...

At their coffee meeting, Shao Xingcheng took detailed notes on their preferences with the ease of old friends.

Closing his notebook solemnly, he declared, "Give me one month for the perfect designs." Then immediately stood to leave.

"Where are you going?" Pei Youshan asked.

"To start working. The sooner I begin, the more time for refinements." With that, the workaholic rushed off, determined to create dresses that would outshine all others.

Xu Jingshu watched his departure curiously. "Is he always like this?"

Pei Youshan sipped tea calmly. "Workaholic Shao Xingcheng - lives up to his name."

Back home, Shao Xingcheng immersed himself in design, even rejecting his boyfriend's advances. "No distractions," he stated firmly, foot planted against the taller man's leg. "Men slow my sketching."

His boyfriend could only laugh wryly at this occupational hazard.

...

Three weeks later, Shao Xingcheng presented his designs: a halter-neck mermaid gown and an A-line dress, both red-based with personalized adjustments for each bride.

Pei Youshan and Xu Jingshu loved them instantly, requiring no revisions.

When the dresses were completed, Pei Youshan dragged Xu Jingshu to try them on, then became teary-eyed at her wife's beauty.

"You're too gorgeous," she sniffled against Xu Jingshu's shoulder. "What will I do when you get married?"

Then realization dawned. "Oh right, you're marrying me. Never mind!"

Her adorable foolishness made both Xu Jingshu and Shao Xingcheng laugh.

In their final month before the wedding, the couple focused on preparations. Both mothers generously gave them time off work to arrange everything.

Professionals handled venue decoration based on their preferences. Invitations required coordination with both families.

Before they knew it, the eve of their wedding arrived. Lying in bed holding hands, they marveled at how quickly time had passed—it felt like just yesterday they'd met at Lakeside Glaze, when a tipsy "cat" had offered to "keep" a songbird.

Yet when they turned to gaze at each other, the depth of their love anchored them firmly in the present.

Pei Youshan scooted closer for whispered sweet nothings, which Xu Jingshu answered with infinite patience and tenderness.

"Jingshu, you're marrying me tomorrow."

"Mm."

"Xu Jingshu, you're becoming Pei Youshan's wife!"

"Yes, I'm marrying Shanshan."

Pei Youshan's eyes curved happily. "Even though we're already legally married, thinking about walking down the aisle together tomorrow makes me so happy."

"Me too, Shanshan," Xu Jingshu replied, stroking her hair before holding her close. "I'm so happy to become your wife."

Snuggling under the covers, Pei Youshan murmured, "Sleep now, Jingshu. We have an early start tomorrow."

...

On the big day, after hair and makeup at their hotel suite, they waited by the venue doors, listening to the emcee's announcements.

As the doors opened, they entered arm-in-arm in their magnificent gowns. The venue glittered with lights and guests, the aisle flanked by rose arrangements with twinkling lights like stars caught in clouds.

Xu Ge and Xue Yingyue's daughter scattered petals as flower girl. Walking the aisle together, they saw not just a ceremony, but their shared future unfolding.

After exchanging vows, rings, and a passionate kiss to thunderous applause, they knew their love was blessed by all.

...

Changing into evening wear, they toasted each table of guests—many prominent figures showing respect to both families.

Friends teased, "Never imagined you'd marry each other! But seeing you now, you're clearly perfect together!"

Glasses clinked with well-wishes for lasting happiness.

After the festivities, as their families saw off guests, the brides stood hand-in-hand by the venue entrance, quietly gazing at where they'd pledged their lives together.

Called by her mother, Pei Youshan turned with clear eyes and steady speech, though Pei Lanqing suspected both daughters were drunk on marital bliss.

At Elder Pei's suggestion, the clearly sober Xu Jingshu led Pei Youshan away.

Pausing by a window, they admired the moon that seemed to have come specially to bless their union.

Pei Youshan's thoughts turned to one person. "Dad..." she whispered into the night, her voice feather-light with longing. "I got married today. Did you see?"

"I looked beautiful, and so did my wife. Mom was there too... We all miss you."

Eyes glistening, she added, "But don't worry—your daughter can take care of herself now." Smiling at Xu Jingshu, she said, "And her family too."

Xu Jingshu kissed away her tears as emotions burned between them like fire.

"I love you, Xu Jingshu."

"I love you too—forever."

Through all of time, in every tomorrow—it would always be you.
